Clove have just Tweeted that they have received stock of official UK Galaxy Notes.
Nearly £600 though :/
http://www.clove.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-note
I think I'll wait till people start selling unwanted network upgrades on Fleabay!
You can slice £100 off that figure by buying from amazon.de. Should come to under £500 (£493 at the last count) including VAT and delivery to the UK. Price has been dropping a little, day by day, this week.
Handtec have it for £540, but I have a feeling it's the EU model that you could get from amazon.de for less money.
Clove should rename to expensive.co.uk or greedys.co.uk

Correct... The first batch are EU stock and I can tell you Samsung UK will not be very happy Handtek have been selling the Note before the official UK date.
Not only that, buyers need to check the warranty on this first batch from Handtek very closely.

When you know a thing or two about Handtek and then compare it to Clove you then realize why there is a price difference.
CLove could sell phones from overseas (grey-imports) but that then opens up all manner of problems.
Clove received the UK version of the Note yesterday and began dispatching it today. They are including a flip case with the Note.

Yes, this is excellent news.
I did quite a bit of searching around for a protective cover for the Note and couldn't find a thing.
Nice to see the one coming from Clove has a flip cover for both the back and screen.
I've just check the delivery status of my Note and it is on it's way and I should get it tomorrow. I cannot wait to try out all the new and exciting features.
Same here. My tracking label says ~ "We have received your item and expect to deliver it before the guaranteed time on 04/11/11."
Hello Folks,
Is it bad/good getting a "EU version" vs a "non EU version"?

Depends on what your concerns are so please come back if you wish a better answer.
If it is to do with warranties, well phones will have to be shipped back to where you purchased from. This can be awkward, you have to read the warranty card that comes with the phone.
Registering the phone on the Samsung web site may be an issue.
Your best bet is to read the Samsung Warranty web pages which can be found here.

My bad. Sorry about that!
I am planning use it on AT&T (US). In that regards, does having either version makes any difference? Specially in terms of getting on their 3g network.
Thank you

Is it something going on with selling of Advantage? I have a feeling like some pieces are getting back to factory, for example there is no more selling from Expansys in UK.

i will try to confirm that with my contact in HTC, I have heard a recall of some product which was up for sell in asia. The reason is as expected the Micro drive problem, maybe Expansys import their Advantage from asia, then that will be the same. Anyway, all the above need confirm from official first.
I will try to do it asap
wu5262: any news on the advantage?
am wondering why dynamism was showing end of april, and now shows early may???
should i switch to expansys uk? i think they are showing 63 in stock....
any issues being discussed @ htcland?
i'm on the edge of my seat! i should have purchased the dopod, but i like the black.....
any info wld be welcoming. i'm in the usa. thanks.
My thoughts also, I would love black color and hope it would be fixed soon. Though I think in my country would be at end of this month so would wait some more to see how it is going.
I think Clove UK site has lot of Advantage on stock. Just checked Expansys now, wow, 294 in stock!!!

right, news has come back, no delay on Advantage, everything is shipping out as normal. There is a small recall of Advantage in Asia, but really small amount. Official say the MD problem is now solve, but there are some Advantage owner who report MD problem on their device. At the moment, chance of having MD problem is a bit higher for Advantage compare to DOPOD and Ameo but not too serious so you shouldn't worry about it.
I would say if you don't want to wait anymore, get the Advantage from Expansys or anywhere on net who offer it.
I've ordered my Ameo at T-Mobile Germany yesterday, expected to be delivered the day after tomorrow.
However: status at T-Mobile online-shop is "not avalable".
Dieter
Thanks for the reply Wu.
Any UK Advantage owners out there having issues? Especially with the MD?
Is the ROM the same as in the Dopod?

The ROM is not the same as DOPOD, but not much different, at this moment is hard to say which one is more stable. Time will tell

Phew, had me worried there. I guess I'll stick to keeping important dynamic data on the storage card anyway although actually the only file I've had corrupt on me WAS on the SC.
an 8 day window now seems to be sense. other srces say advantge is now shipping to n.a. / i wonder, are we near the 7501 window?
Expansys is now announcing availibility for Japan as of 15 May - before it was listed as "in stock".
ameo avaible
Ameo in germany avaible...

I just find out that x7510 will not not going to sell in my country (Malaysia).
This is indeed a very bad news as I really wanted to buy this unit.
Can anyone recommend any good & trusted online shop which sell this unit (preferably the one that offer the unit with good price) and willing to send to Malaysia & also accept Paypal or Google Checkout.
Now I am looking at expansys UK but it is good to get a few more alternative for comparision purpose.
Thanks
I live in Australia and I got it from the uk @ www.clove.co.uk/ . They are good, ive got lots of stuff from them.

Thanks, Their price seem to be slightly cheaper than expansys. But how about packing. Do you received the items in good order?
Mine came from www.onthegosolutions.com based in Illinois, USA. I don't know how the price will seem to you, but I have nothing but good words for the service.

Theres no tax for you also, so you can exclude vat
packing yea was good. Water proof sealed bag with bubble wrapped around the x7510 box.
I suggest you buy if from the uk if you live in Malaysia since the Americans like to mod their phones for them to work in their country plus don't you use 240 voltage?
i got mine straight off UK online retailers

Yes in Malaysia, we are using 240V. Another plus point is that UK & Malaysia is using the same electrical plug.

Would you mind share which UK retailer?
there are many, 2 of which are trust worthy
expansys,
and
devicewire
Here is a list of OFFICIAL HTC RETAILERS in the UK (select UK): http://www.htc.com/europe/where_to_buy.aspx
As you can see CLOVE Technology is in there (that's where I bought mine delivered to the US via DHL)
DEVICEWIRE is in there too.
Stay away from EXPANSYS and ONTHEGOSOLUTIONS. Why? Because they are OVER PRICED. Their service is just as good as any of the listed from above. Nothing different.
Thanks for all suggestion. Now I am more keen to get it from clove.

I bought from Inkino.
However, in the end I did not buy X7510 but instead choose to purchase used Dopod U1000 from local owner at very good price I think. Its only £275 but with almost new condition with remaining 4 month warranty from HTC. I could not see any scratch whatsoever The previous owner seem like not using it at all. It comes with 2GB memory card, VGA out cable & car holder as well. I am a very happy of to own this unit.
I noticed that on Expansys they have knocked the price of the Omnia 7 down to £349.99 and I was wondering if these are UK specific handsets or EU ones & if they are EU ones what effect if any would there would be in getting updates compared to the UK handset?

Expansys ships from all over EU, so they're generic EU (even in UK, afaik). UK handsets are branded by carriers, so more chances to get updates delayed if you buy a UK Omnia7. If you're considering buying one, try Germany, as there you can find the 16 GB model (not sure if on Expansys though).

There are a couple of sellers on eBay Germany that you can check out, who supply 16gb versions and are cheaper than Expansys. Mine is 16gb, new, unlocked and unbranded, and arrived in about 3 days. I was given the tracking details so I was able to track my parcel across Europe. The mains adapter came with a 2-pin plug so you'll need to supply your own. When I first turned the phone on I was given an option to switch to English.
The best thing was that when I connected the phone up to Zune it immediately told me that there was an update available (the pre-update). The update was smooth and painless. As the device is unbranded future updates should be available straightaway as they don't need to be "approved" by a carrier first.
I have to confess the one thing I have avoided buying through eBay is expensive electronic items, but I will certainly look into following what you have said.

No need to buy from eBay, if you have bad experiences (I had a couple in hundreds of good purchases).
The price for Omnia 7 16GB on Amazon.de is 299E + cca 7E shipping.
Note: apparently this is still a seller, on Amazon, yesterday there were ones on sale from Amazon, I guess they run out

But Amazon.de don't ship to the UK (at least for that particular item), as I've just tried it. The eBay seller I used also has a shop that you can buy directly from: http://www.es-mobilfunk.de. The price is 289 Euros plus shipping. I went through eBay as I was able to benefit from Paypal buyer protection if needed.
See here for more info:

Thanks for those links.
I have to say I hadn't noticed price drops in the WP 7 handsets over here, just the Omnia 7.
I don't think the price-drops are as extreme as they're suggesting. I only noticed price drops for the Omnia 7, mainly because I wanted to buy one at the time. Its a good time to buy if you're interested in WP7
Had a look on those sites and I wish I read/spoke German as it would make things a lot easier!

I don't speak German either so I used Google Chrome to browse the links for the German sites (it will translate whole pages on the fly for you). I think Firefox will also work if you have the Google Translate add-in installed.

Thanks. Now I wonder why that didn't come up when I did a worldwide search on there for the 16GB model.
I'm looking to buy a Note pretty soon and since it looks like there won't be an official release in the USA any time soon it looks like I'l have to import one. My major concern with this is what to do if there is a problem and want to return it. I see that some appear to have issues with the display and with any new device there's always the concern that they haven't got all the bugs worked out so being an early adopter caries with it some defect risks. So, what's the deal with importing from Germany or the UK and are there any sellers to stay away from or prefer?
Thanks,
Brian
same concern here. i am really close to buying from either from clove or handtech, both UK retailers. do they provide any kind of warranty/satisfaction guarantee? also, what about the manufacturer warrany? do these brand new phones not come with a Samsung warranty? thx

They are EU phones so come with a Samsung 2 year international warranty which doesn't include the US. Handtec and I'm sure probably Clove as well cover the phone for the full 2 years. If you need warranty service you ship it back to them in the UK and they handle the repair through Samsung for you.

Hello,
I am also looking for note and my condition is same they don't provide any manufacturer warranty.
So I am concerned about the quality, I also doubt that it could be refurbished or korean copy of the cell phone
Sellers are saying that the import it from Indonesia. Also they are saying that its genuine and will connect via samsung Kies as well so I am thinking to go for it.
What will you suggest?
Buy the way did you purchased the cell?
Thanks
Hi anyone heard anything regarding demo to see in hand in london ?

Seen the S8+ Black in both EE and O2 in the City. Nice phone and reminds me of my Note 7. Not in a huge rush since we got brushed off this time around. Pretty poor that we get nothing and the US get the VR....

Pretty useless if you already have cover elsewhere like I do with my contents insurance. Would much rather have the VR. I have never lost nor broken a phone...ever. It would be nice to have the option to choose at least. We pay more in the UK and get less, not the best sales tactic.
Edit- Thanks for the info though. Appreciated.
yeah I will want VR more but this year again USA will get free VR.
