WPA-PSK with Linksys. Don't work?

Hi!
I have a linksys WRT54G3G wireless router and has set it for WPA encryption on the wireless network. But my HTC TyTN (Hermes) wont connect to it.
If I just say yes on the connection dialog, choose internet and the punch in the WPA key the device hangs and I have to soft reset.
If I create a wireless setting for my network on before hand and then turn radio on my device only says connecting. But never connects to my network.
WEP works fine on the device. And my laptop connects without any problem to both the WEP and WPA encrypted networks.
Does anyone have an idea what's wrong and how I can fix it?
Best regards,

It's working for me...
HTC TyTN with Linksys WAP-54G.
I use WPA-PSK with TKIP. All is working.
I've just selected such a parameters in setup window in my TyTN, set the key and all started to work perfect.
Hi mikechannon!
Thanks for the threads! I haven't seen them, but unfortunealy they don't help much. I have MAC filters turned on. But I don't have the same router. May be that's the problem. I'll try contacting linksys support next week. My device works fine with WEP encryption. But I'd like to secure my network a little bit more...

hi,
I have had the same problem with my WRT54GS, and solved by choosing WEP security, but now after seeing this thread and following links I installed recent firmware from Linksys and... pronto! WPA / TKIP works smoothly. Thanks, folx.

WiFi Problems..........

Hi guys. i finally turned off the gprs and now i'm in wifi heaven. at work i can use their unsecured wifi, but when i come back home, it doesnt seem to connect to my WEP one. Does anyone here also experience the same problem? Or does anyone know how to connect to a WEP wifi? Thanks in advance
i think that most wizards have a problem with wpa but not wep. if you have a router with both wep AND wpa, try turning the wpa off. that was all i had to do to get mine to work

Mine works fine with WPA-TKIP . Just make sure you've done the regedit to enable G mode (thats what catches a lot of people). I think some of the custom roms also add more capability with WPA

is my hd that don't work?

hi, i connect my blackstone on my wifi lan with wpa2 protection. but with wififofum or every sniffing program i see my wifilan and others lan(all encrypted wpa2) with wep protection.. dont' understand it.. any suggestion on it?
might need a bit more info...
but as a starter for 10, I would suggest:
Temporarily turning off any and all encryption / security on your wifi router (ie make it open to anyone to connect to).
This means turning off WPA / WEP encryption and any MAC key checks - so make sure you note down the settings before hand!
See if your HD will now coonect (it should!) - obviously you need to remove the WPA / WEP key from your HD too.
Assuming it does connect ok, turn back on your encryption on the router one step at a time, and make the same changes on the HD.
So eg, turn on WPA / WEP on the router.
Turn on WPA / WEP on the HD.
Does it still connect?
Whilst this might not solve the problem, it will at least highlight where the problem is - which then gives us a better chance of fixing it
hope that helps!
just for note - my HD happily connects to my wifi, running both WEP and MAC key security, so it ought to work!
thanks for your reply
i think that maybe there is a misunderstanding, my hd is connected to te wify, at home etc. the problem is, when i use wififofum(example) it search only wep lan and not wpa. in office we have a wifi encripted in wpa but with ssid cached. the boss have an iphone wit wififofum installed on it and is able to watch our wpa2 wifi. me not! because with all sniffing programs that i tryed i'm able to watch only wep wifi.
sorry for my terrible english

Problem connecting to WPA2 network (HTC Tattoo)

Hi all,
At my work we have a WiFi network with the following settings:
WPA2
PSK Auth
TKIP
WEP-104
The problem is, I can't connect with my HTC Tattoo. It shows the network as WEP and not as WPA2. My home network has WPA2 and I can connect to that one.
Does anyone have an idea to get this to work on my Tattoo? Or is there any update or app to solve this problem?
Many thanks!
