[Q] HRD SPL - Error 260 - Touch Viva, MDA Basic ROM Development

Hi All,
I am trying to flash ROM for the first time.
My current SPL is 1.35
When I run Opal_HardSPL_v2, my device turns to grey screen for 1 second and then it turns to white. Device gets disconnected from Windows Mobile Device Center. Device hangs, laptop says "Installing drivers" and then says "driver installation not successful".And Error 260is displayed after a while.
I have Windows 7(64 bit). I have installed .Net Framework 4. I have removed SIM & SD Card.
I tried running Opal-SSPL-Manual on device without connecting it to laptop, but same problem occurs.
I tried connecting device to PC in Bootloader mode(As mentioned in some post), but then Windows Mobile Device Center fails to recognize the device.
Is there anything I am not doing right? Can anyone help me?

i have seen this several times.
so when the windows is saying updating or installing drivers, you are probably stuck in tricolor boot mode. and then after some time the error 260 shows up. at this time
phone - stuck in tricolor
windows - installing drivers
if both above is true, then just wait for windows to finish installing, leave phone connected by USB. once driver installation is complete, just start the flash process again. it works for me.

Hi Sraaj,
In this process my Device never goes to tricolour boot mode.
When I run Opal_HardSPL_v2, my device turns to grey screen for 1 second and then it turns to white screen. And hags just like that.
Device gets disconnected from Windows Mobile Device Center. laptop says "Installing drivers" and then says "driver installation not successful".And Error 260 is displayed after a while.
If I run Opal-SSPL-Manual on device without connecting it to laptop, same thing happnes.

In this process my Device never goes to tricolour boot mode.

Hermes is stuck in bootloader(tri-color) after failed update.

Okay, so I've already done a quick search of the forums and haven't found a situation close enough to mine to remedy my problem.
I was trying to update my ROM. I was flashing it when the progress bar stopped around 13%. After that, When I tried recovery, it seemed to stop detecting the phone at all. That is when I started looking around for other fixes.
Phone will start up into boot-loader(the tri-color screen), which shows
HERM100
IPL-1.03
HERM100
SPL-1.11
Now the main problem is that none of the updaters work because my computer cannot even detect that the phone is plugged in. When I try to plug it in, the computer shows "Unrecognized device". I use Windows Home Premium.
I've also tried MTTY. There is no USB option from the dropdown menu. I've killed Windows Mobile Device Center before trying this option.
Help me guys! What should I do?

[Q] Bricked Elf, Bootloader w/o RUU message

Hello there,
A few days ago I bricked my Elf by executing a tweaking util. The device wont start anymore, no LED lights...nothing.
I tried to follow the how-to-guides to unbrick, but I stucked with entering the bootloader mode. After pressing Power+Camera button, the tricolor screen appears, but without the RUU message in the top right corner. When plugging in the USB cable, the device shows USB at the bottom, but WinXP returns with "unknown device" and driver installation isnt possible.
When using MTYY the USB Port isnt available (I think this is connected with the driver install issue).
Has anybody a solution or a hint for that?
Thanx in advance
Philipp

[Q] USB only working on bootloader ?

Hi all.
First of all, Win7, 32bit.
Second, I must be doing something really stupid ... here goes:
I'm trying to upgrade my Qtek S200 (AKA HTC Prophet) G4.
I've tried the Prophet_Upgrade_2.6.5 (that I got from this forum), following the instructions from thread 534707 (can't paste links yet ..)
But... the tool gives me an error ( Warning: no device connected. Waiting for a device to connect...), so I figured out I did something wrong and decided to start again from scratch, but this time I would hardSPL the thing first, using the "Upgrade_SPL_G4" batch that I found somewhere in this forum.
That's when I discovered that Win7 doesn't recognize the phone anymore: when I connect it to the USB port, windows doesn't even "beep" and there's no device on the device manager. BUT. If I start the phone in bootloader mode, windows DOES recognize it ...
I've already hard-reset the phone, done a system restore on windows to a previous date, the works ... but windows still refuses to "see" the phone after it booted normally ...
Any hints ?
./J
install proper drivers for win7/vista first.
Read Prophet Upgrade thread or Claudyfa thread about installing drivers...
what condition of your phone now...?!
if it's entering 3 color screen when booting, better find XP PC n' use nvid rom to back to wm5 first.
then update in Win7/Win Vista with driver installed (like bikertibi told)
@Bikertibi: The question is "what" proper drivers if when I plug the phone via USB on it's "normal" condition (working) it isn't recognized by windows, not even as an "unknown device" ?
The only way to make it "appear" under the windows device manager is booting the phone into the "bootloader" (3 color screen) mode ... and even in that situation, windows tells me it has the latest drivers...
I've even tried to uninstall and reinstall "Windows Mobile Device Center" (that carries some 'new' drivers with it) with no success ...
@hd.herlambang: phone is working ok. I can boot it normally, I can hard and soft reset it and I can boot it into the "bootloader" mode, but when booting it normally it is NOT recognized by windows, not even as an "unknown device". As I've said earlier, it's only visible to windows when booted into the "bootloader" mode.

***bump*** ?
I have the exact same problem with my HD2. I've asked HTC, but they haven't given me an answer so far...

Hello, I have this HTC TOUCH, which suddenly turned off during reflashing. Now it has black screen and I am not able to get tricolor screen. Device manager sees it as Pocket PC USB Sync.
I've manager to install a couple off RUU, but it gets an error about invalid cid. Tried method with port sniffing from this link:

g) Select by right click over any " WINDOWS MOBILE-BASED DEVICE " and select INSTALL AND RESTART
What shall I do? is this device is dead?
