Hello there,
A few days ago I bricked my Elf by executing a tweaking util. The device wont start anymore, no LED lights...nothing.
I tried to follow the how-to-guides to unbrick, but I stucked with entering the bootloader mode. After pressing Power+Camera button, the tricolor screen appears, but without the RUU message in the top right corner. When plugging in the USB cable, the device shows USB at the bottom, but WinXP returns with "unknown device" and driver installation isnt possible.
When using MTYY the USB Port isnt available (I think this is connected with the driver install issue).
Has anybody a solution or a hint for that?
Thanx in advance
Philipp

Okay, so I've already done a quick search of the forums and haven't found a situation close enough to mine to remedy my problem.
I was trying to update my ROM. I was flashing it when the progress bar stopped around 13%. After that, When I tried recovery, it seemed to stop detecting the phone at all. That is when I started looking around for other fixes.
Phone will start up into boot-loader(the tri-color screen), which shows
HERM100
IPL-1.03
HERM100
SPL-1.11
Now the main problem is that none of the updaters work because my computer cannot even detect that the phone is plugged in. When I try to plug it in, the computer shows "Unrecognized device". I use Windows Home Premium.
I've also tried MTTY. There is no USB option from the dropdown menu. I've killed Windows Mobile Device Center before trying this option.
Help me guys! What should I do?

Hello, I have this HTC TOUCH, which suddenly turned off during reflashing. Now it has black screen and I am not able to get tricolor screen. Device manager sees it as Pocket PC USB Sync.
I've manager to install a couple off RUU, but it gets an error about invalid cid. Tried method with port sniffing from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379318
but looking to this manual I don't have this point:
g) Select by right click over any " WINDOWS MOBILE-BASED DEVICE " and select INSTALL AND RESTART
What shall I do? is this device is dead?
I tried to downgrade from Kitkat to JB via flashtool this morning which I often successfully flashed with the same method. But while the flashing is going on and almost finish the flashing (system.img, userdata.img, etc. are already flashed), there seems to be some problem and popped out that the flashing is fail. And then the device does not boot up. While I tried to reconnect the device to PC, the PC cannot recognize the device as shown in the picture. Unable to process any further method. Does anyone in this forum knows how to recover the bricked device like this?
The phone starts? In a black screen?
If the PC detects it like that the phone has some energy and connection...
Does anything apears on the screen? Can you go to the Recovery Mod?
Have you tried to force the driver installation on that USB item that appears on device manager?
Do you have access via ADB or fastboot?
Did you nottest in what partition did the error message appeared?
Please provide some answers to these questions so i can try to help you...

Nothing on the screen. Not able to boot into recovery or adb is not working. The phone is just death. But, when I insert the usb cable, the pc can detect it. I even approach the Customer Care here in Aizawl, but they cannot fixed. Even when I followed the instruction as per one xda member posted here, The qualcom hs - 9006/8 is displayed on the device manager and when I tried to flashed it with emergency mode, the result always the same. FAILS

Try this:
- Start GNQC with the phone disconnected
- Connect the Phone and see GNQC recognizes the QLoader
- If so, press power button until the phone vibrates
- Wait for the GNQC recognizes again the QLoader and press Download on Emergency Mode
Use this KIKAT ROM: https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B8H5JoBDpTnJMGE2QTJPR0FWX0E
This worked for me, i had the phone completly died, not even recognized by the PC, waited a day and tried again.
Once the QLoader is recognized your good to go!!
I'm having another problem after that, now theres no GSM/3G signals....
I need a EFS backup with the TWRP recovery.... No one seems to have

Reinstall the drivesbob the PC, press 30 secs on the power button than connect the phone to the PC. If appears a QLoader port use emergency download on gnqc 1.6.9.0

Hi, yesterday I tried to unlock my bootloader however it said failed and after that the phone wouldn't turn on at all. I've tried holding power, power and + volume, power and - volume and all buttons at once nothing works. The only sign of life was when it was connected to my PC via USD or plugged in the charger. I've tried a bunch of things including some written on this forum, however errors keep occuring or it won't work at all.
I've installed the MTK drivers and tried to use Flash Tool however it keeps giving me the error "brom cmd send da fail" and the program stops responding after that until I unplug the USB
One post also mentioned a "fix" for the disconnect problem (Device keeps disconnecting and reconnecting) but got another error there saying that the driver has no certificate.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
My phone was the same. Enter device manager and as soon as you plug your phone in you should see it appear under the ports section, then right click and update the driver to the media tek preloader. My phone was unrecognised and kept getting a yellow exclamation mark in the usb controller section, and the only way i got round that was holding the volume up button then connecting the phone, then installed the driver. Now though I`m stuck in a constant bootloop of the logo screen

Hello all,
i have big problem with my x compact phone.
I used the amazon music app suddenly the phone was freezed. So i restarted it. After that the phone was in a boot loop. Message:"Your phone is corrupt...".
This wasn´t stopable even with hard reset (power+volume up). So tried my luck with a software repair using xperia companion. Nearly at the end of the process it stopped with the message "failed please try again.." . After that the phone wasn´t able to get in flash mode (blue light). The pc doesn´t recognize it. Windows says usb failure. From time to time the red light is blinking when i connect it to the charger thats all. No other response.
Is there a chance to repair it? Please help me.
If fastboot mode isn't available, your only option is to get the phone in 'service mode':
- turn phone off
- hold <volume down> button
- while holding <volume down> button, connect usb cable to pc and phone (led should turn green).
In this mode you can try to flash the phone with Emma:
https://developer.sony.com/file/download/flash-tool-for-xperia-devices/
or alternatively FlashTool:
http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
If you can't get into 'service mode', check on another pc with another usb cable (and make sure you install the usb drivers correctly). If that also doesn't get you into 'service mode' the phone is destined for RMA.
Thank you. But can´t get into service mode. When i try the led blinks red.
I´m not sure if the drivers are correctly installed. When i download them from sony, i installed them as legacy hardware but it have the status "not working".
How can i install them?
I think even without drivers installed the phone should go into service mode if you follow the aforementioned steps (only then it shows up in Windows device manager as an unknown device), so that sounds bad. You should try with another pc and another usb (data)cable.
I don't use Windows myself so I can't help you with driver installation, but I gather if Sony provides drivers it should be an easy 1-click installation. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

By installing Xperia Companion on your PC or Mac you should have any drivers that might be needed. So if you cannot successfully connect to your computer in any mode, then it seems likely that you'll have to send it in for repair. Edit: But do try another cable first, as was suggested.
