6 bad blocks for xplay - Xperia Play General

Okay I have an unlocked r800a.
But when I try flashing any roms or kernels which isn't stock, I get 6 bad blocks encountered, and when I try to turn my phone on it just bricks. black screen.
I can reflash the other stock FW as many times as I want
So does any one knows the problem to this???
full story, I have a test point unlocked bootloader phone r800a Rogers.
I've tried the custom roms and the stock fw for r800i and it works perfectly. But not for r800a.
I've even tried flashing r800a fw onto the r800a, it works but once I flash any custom kernels or roms it just dies. 6 bad blocks.
*note that I erased user data about three times, and each time it says 3 bad blocks. erased user data from my phone 3 times.

If you just want root, just use the zergrush method

Okay I want my kernels

I get the same thing when flashing a custom kernel apart from I only get 1 bad block.

There is nothing you can do, apart from sending it back for repair, the nand chip needs replacing (if thats possible)

[Q] Branded Galaxy Note - help !

Hi, today I bought my N7000 from an online store. Everything nice, love it. Just that somehow it has the branding of the TIM from italy company (carrier). I rooted my phone using the method posted here, i have Superuser and everything. All i want is the TIM logo not to show on boot and poweroff, and normal android icons for everything. Is it too much to ask ? It runs Android 2.3.6 and Kernel version KA. Please help me.
You could try flashing a stock firmware with Odin. Kl7 seems to be doing well based on the feedback here.

yes, but if i use odin, can I go back to the original roms and setting in case warranty is needed?
if you already have cwm, you can do a backup of your stock rooted rom. then you can try Rocket rom v12- the speed is fantastic compared to kka stock rom. I suggest you do a wipe in cwm before flashing the new rom, otherwise you'll get boot loops. And of course, you should assume the risks

sunt din Romania. Anyway, I just want stock. I tried to flash from CWM but it doesn't mount the sd card. it just counts down 20 secs and stops. I already created a backup up, but when i tried to load it, same countdown issue. Any ideas? it's CWM 5.0.2.7
do u have a micro sd card in the phone?

From ICS to GB

Hi all,
I'm getting the i9300 on release and giving my i9000 to my wife.
Before giving it to her j plan on flashing the latest stock, non root GB ROM.
Just wondering am I able to unlock the device or would I need a root kernel like chain fire (stock root) to unlock?
Cheers in advance!

Is the phone locked?
What rom do you have on it now?
If you flash an earlier rom from your carrier there shouldn't be a problem.

I'm in ICS cyanogen 9.
I'm not worried about flashing back to GB, its the unlock I'm not sure about. My SIM is O2 contract and hers is O2 pay and go... I remember the iPhone not working with her sum before and had to unlock that...

On Samsung based roms the status of any locks is shown in Engineering Mode:
*#7465625# (phone keys)
it will work
o2 doesn't lock their contract phones

I have some questions.

OK so I think I'm getting this phone soon and I have some questions that are new to me. I have a Samsung (LOL I know) but when flashing ROMs it says flash tom gaaps that's it. But for the N4 it says stuff about boot loaders and radios. Are radios the same as modems? And how do you flash a boot loader?

Flashing a bootloader is the same as flashing a rom or gapps. So for the 4.3 update you would flash the rom, gapps, radio and bootloader in recovery

Radios are the same as modems. Handles cell reception, data, sensors and such. A bootloader is what starts the operating system. When a new bootloader and radio come out people will normally make a flashable zip, or you can use fastboot to install either. Installing ROMs is the same as what you mentioned, Flash ROM then gapps.

[Q] i9505 wifi hardware fault?

Wifi turns off by itself about 3 minutes after connecting to a network. At times it even reboots itself trying to turn wifi off. Sometimes it even cant detect a wifi signal even though its within strong signal range.
Tried full wipe and reflash stock firmware but to no avail.
Do you guys reckon its a hardware fault?

It could be, but what firmware/kernel version are you using? Wifi is a kernel issue, not a ROM issue per se, but if you are using a custom ROM and custom recovery, you could have flashed it with the wrong recovery and ended up with this sort of mess.
Most common scenario?
Flashing custom ROM with TWRP or the wrong version of PhilZ recovery or even an older version of CWM.
Any of these can screw up your device.

Previously on ARHD 3.0 flashed with Philz as instructed. Been using it for almost 2 months without a glitch. All of a sudden this happened.
Ive now reverted to stock as u see in screen cap. But still doesn't solve the problem.

how can i fix it ? and why i have this problem i flash my phone many times and this is the first time i hace this problem
thnx
Try going into the stock recovery and wiping the cache. If that doesnt work, do a factory reset using the stock recovery.
I tried do what you suggest but still don't work :/

there any different between the versions ? 48/54 and 84
Not much I've used all of them. When I flashed 4.3 I did it with images from the Google page in bootloader mode. I updated all my Android pc software "I use Windows". I locked and unlocked, then flashed in bootloader. I had one issue I missed spelled something but very thing went well

Try flashing the 4.3 baseband and see if it loads. If it does then I suggest you use a hybrid baseband by morrislee.
