The phone's backlight not shutting off. It always on and it drains my battery faster. I don't know what to do. Even I set the timer to 10secs and 1min. Nothing has changed.
Help please. Thanks!

use Backlight HotFix to solve it , you can download it at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10189029&postcount=2

Something is really the matter with this phone. It does a lot of odd things and I don't know why. But this one is important because it drains a full battery in a day.
If there is something in the registry that maybe can solve this problem, I would very grateful if someone could help turn this backlight off!
Thanks!
Hi ev'ry body.
My problem on X1 is it drain out of battery and not turn on now.
I did read there are several people here have same issues, and they did solve it.
But I just don't know how to do a flash mode on X1, what does it mean and the detail procedures?
And is there any other way to solve this issue.

+1. I had this happen on my first discharge. I had to charge it for about 15 minutes before I could actually turn on my phone.
happened to me as well.. keep it charged.
I had the same problem yesterday.
Charge the battery (while keeping the xperia off) and then turn on your xperia.
So I just noticed that something called akmd is using the majority (34%) of my battery as it sits idle.
Does anyone know what this?
I was at a full charge this morning (7:30) when I pulled it off the charger and I am now sitting at 84% just 5 hours later with no use at all.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
akmd = g-sensor
I know this is a completely stupid question.
What is the G-Sensor?
The hard wich rotate your phone whe u tilt hehehe
Ok, in case anyone cared. I figured it out. I installed Home++, which allows the homescreen to rotate based on phone orientation. This is turned off by default in the original launcher.
It was on in Home++, so it was waiting for a screen orientation shift and killing my battery while doing it. So, I turned it off, and wham, no more loss of battery for that reason.
Just in case anyone else has the same very specific problem.

Could it mean if you turn of 'orientation' in settings, that akmd is going to use less battery power (in my case about 11%)? Just tried to turn it off, I'm curious..

Probably. 3-1/2 years and 2 phones later, I can say that turning off auto-just about anything will reduce energy. Thankey for identifying the process.
yiiiz, THANKEY is a great word for that xD
as the title says, the hard buttons are dimmed and doesn't turn off!
I tried and removed the battery for 40 minutes approximately, updated the ROM with the official 1.66 and hard reseted my HD2 and etc... but I can't get them off, they are dimmed and doesn't turn off.
what shall I do?
Thanks

wait a minute... did you say "you took out the battery" and the keypads are still dimmed?? while the battery is out?
you might not be seeing a dimmed light but a translucent part of the keypads instead.

no , when I took out the battery the lights turn off, I meant when the phone is ON and is in Standby mode, the lights are dimmed!
thanks again
that is something weird.
i am not aware of any settings for enabling or disabling the keypad light "except if there is a registry hack/tweak" that you can do.
Try using the search, maybe you'll find something related to it.
I think that this is a hardware failure, Because as I said, I hard reseted after I encountered this.
but, thanks again guys!
my phone gets over 100 degrees when data is on and the battery starts to drain really fast and will drain even if it's plugged in. What do you think is wrong and how can I fix it? Thanks to all who answer.
I have already done everything from power saving to lowering screen brightness etc. Even when the screen is off, the same thing happens as long as data is on! Data is off and the phone cools down and everything is fine. This happens all the time.

Wait, 100 degrees? How could it be?
Have you tried another battery? If a new battery doesn't work, the logic board might be the cause.

Factory reset the sucker! Hope it didn't cause hardware failure yet.
If it keeps happening, Odin stock firmware, do an other factory reset with stock firmware.
That temperature isnt too crazy, my phone is currently idling at around 93 Fahrenheit, (34 Celsius), ive seen it get to 40 but the hardware is rated for much higher. Theyre mini computers, and those get hot, its just how technology works.

If it only gets hot when mobile data is on then I would advise you to go through all apps which you might think are behaving strangely or are running in the background and delete them (or freeze with Titanium). Another option is to install Wakelock Detector and see which app is preventing your phone from going into deep sleep (if any) and uninstall it. Hope I helped
