Crap, well is the latest update worth it to go through rooting again? And does anyone know if Verizon has released it?

*Sigh* ...no dice for me
Region: North America
Carrier: AT&T
Handset: R800a
...still telling me I already have the latest version (all I have is 2.3.3). This is driving me nuts.

Until we can use psxperia games on 2.3.4 I'd wait :-(

So lame right? Gah, why can't they be up with the times!? They're the biggest cell phone provider in the US, it's bologna I say!

no Panorama And no 720p video :/

I upgraded my stock O2 Play to 2.3.4 without any problem. I wanted to use the the live media dock DK10.

Still no OTA on UK generic, that's what i've been waiting..

Not officially available. That's why all the current 2.3.5 NxS _custom_ ROMs come with a 2.3.4 fingerprint.
Still no sign of it... Not impressed

You could always build it from AOSP yourself and flash it.

Won't come before ICS anymore is MY guess, there's way too much to do to get it out to all NxS NON-4G versions with only minor improvements. Unless Google wants to seriously push Wallet within the next few months, but they don't have to atm.

Why do you think you need it? What issues that 2.3.5 resolves are affecting you?

I'd say the recent Android Browser Cross Application Scripting vulnerability demonstrated by IBM is something that I'd like to see get fixed and which is fixed in 2.3.5.

Nothing yet on UK Generic (rooted). Maybe because I have bloatware frozen (although I'm not sure if the update not showing up has any affect on that).
R800i, 2.3.3, 4.0.A.2.368 (full hebrew support, so i guess it's israeli version[?]).
still no update.

I recommend you don't try it yet. I can't say for sure but since the R800a and r800i can flash their firmwares interchangeably I don't see why it wouldn't work for the r800at.
OK. Also, when trying to flash this, I can't seem to get into fastboot mode. It just takes me to the charging battery screen. I hold down the search button when plugging in the USB.
Sent from my R800at using xda premium
hold it down about half a seconds before you put in the usb. also, you need to be holding the back button for flashtool, the search key is for fastboot
Their us an tft file already if you want to flash it on your phone. Its somewhere on the android development section for the xperia play.

Nice! Will check this out later on!
Did you actually try it? So long as the video is 720p @ 30fps constant then I'm happy!
By the way, what other improvements/fixes does the new update offer? Any performance/speed increase?
I'm at work now & unable to update till I get home.

Come on guys, no one answered my question with regards to the sound.
Is the sound just as loud as the previous 2.3.3?
Is the xLOUD still there? If not is there any way to get it?
What else is new in the update? Is it worth updating?
Reason I'm asking is because I've only just updated to 2.3.3 and it's great in every way.
I understand the video camera has been greatly improved however I never use the camera and therefore not too bothered about 720p.
Reason I bought my Xperia Play was to game!
So, is the new update worth it or not and why.
Thanks guys & girls...

No update available in Australia just yet.. You can flash the nordic firmware and just set language to english australia?

Would that work? Whats the easiest way to flash it? Do I have to be rooted?

New Rooting option maybe!!!!

I have a rooted atrix already so this is pointless to me. but could be helpful to others. I have tried some of the automatic rooting programs and apps but failed miserably. so had to do it the old fashion way!!
but i came across this and it looks very promising.
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-anything-try-doomlords-easy-rooting-toolkit/
has worked on other motorola devices. so who knows. could be a timesaver!
As if the one click root option we have already is too long a process?

ICS UK Release

I've been Googling ICS release in the UK for the Wi-Fi Xoom, but can't find anything confirming it's release.
I understand it's rolling out in the US at the moment, but does anyone know about us over the pond in the UK, or Europe?

OK, thanks for the pointers, it doesn't look too bad.
So I can re-lock the boot loader after I've flashed it for warranty reasons (only got the Xoom today )
It also appears that I can change the locale to English, so no USA currency, date etc?

Just wanted to check, as don't want to end up with a useless place mat

I'm pretty sure its impossible to brick the Xoom while using fastboot .. just make sure everything is typed correctly and that you have all programs/drivers installed..
