Hi guys, i have a problem with my new Xperia Arc. I have updated my Fw 3.x with new 4.x (and again with new build with Camera 3D). Now phisycal button of Camera don't works. I press it and Camera App don't start.
So i launch app fro Menu, but here phisycal button works only for autofocus, not for capture photo. I need to use touch display for my photo...
Any suggestion, please!!!!
Hard reset and flash again already tested.

Did it work before? are you pressing it hard enough?
I suggest that just use the touch to capture.
As the camera button too small and you need to press it really hard to snap a photo.
Just as experienced mentioned
You need to.press it really hard.

Yes, it works perfectly before 4.x update with Camera 3D.
perhaps the second stage of your camera button is no longer functional? i assume this because the camera app will open once you briefly, hold down the camera button at its second stage, and the same with taking photos.
really strange, I also updated but everything works perfectly
Solved! I flash again new Fw 42 (but US Generic) and now physical button works perfectly!
I have used Wotan Client for flash, Flashtool don't works for me... I give "error: flash aborted", but Wotan is very slow and i preferr Flashtool. Can you help me to use this software? Driver problem?
Tnx guys and... sorry for my english....

Update camera software
On some PCs is Samsung Apps to download the software update camera, unfortunately Xeo. The noticeable change in update adds the ability to record movies with active autofocus (focus operation during recording.) Here a link to the file updater:
com.sec.android.app.camerafirmware_SE-1.apk (598.25 KB)
After launching the application will be updated and the program will then be uninstalled.
If you already have the updated software it displays a message that there is no need to update.

Not working on Motorola Milestone w FroyoMod 2.5
That's weird, my SGS already have autofocus in video recording.
How can I compare the apk version on my phone with that one?
Just tried it out my video recording seems to already actively auto-focus as well.
I don't get it, why people use a firmware to enable a feature that is already here?
Just put/let 2 fingers on the screen while you are recording, then enjoy the zoom and the continuous autofocus .
But well if you want to do so:
Warning with the firmware upgrade, some had third party apps issue and even no camera at all (camera failure)
Bad ! It depends of firmware files, not apk, see in themes and app, there are the files to flash !

Thanks for the tweak . Auto-focus while video recording now works.
ROM--->Darky's 9.5 Extreme Edition
Kernel-->Dark Core 1.4
Works on deodexed JVQ, didn't work before
I have it b4
Works fine on JVQ
JVQ can not be upgraded with this ... well not stock one with cfroot
if the upgrade worked:
-you must have some horrible mess on partitions...
-some custome kernel flashed that was build out of old sources
Erm, unless I'm mistaken the Samsung Galaxy had autofocus during video since Eclair 2.1 as standard. At least on my SGS anyway (Product code CPW)

So is there an auto focus patch for JVQ? I've just tried it out now and there is no auto focus by default despite what some people above were saying.
Seems odd that such a premium feature goes by mostly unnoticed.
Works on Simply Honey v3.9 Rom. It's more like a continous focus one, not an auto focus at the start of the recording, as it refocuses on new subject. Nevertheless, very happy to have stumbled upon this apk! Thank you mate!

I tried it but the app said I already have the latest version, though no continuous focus..
start the video record and then report focus =)

I'm not sure I understand what you mean mate.
do not know how does it work for you but for me camera uses focus function
- when i tap on screen - taking a photo
- when i press button to take a picture (i have camera hack applied)
- after pressing record while in camera mode
thaat means mate autofocus works only triggered

I'm sorry if I was a bit vague, I meant continuous focus while in video mode, I've seen some movies on youtube about this.
well you should have autofocus if app says that latest fw is installed
I have searched a lot but unable to get a perfect answer. Does anyone knows about this? If you dont know that is working or atleast know about what is not working that would be of great help.
Thanks in advance...
I have been using it daily for about 3 weeks now, and I honestly cant find anything that isnt working besides the camera and multitouch (which doesnt work on any ROM).
Maybe someone else can chime in here, but bottom line the rom is awesome!!

You said that camera and multitouch not working. Is is that camera is not working at all? Please clarify. As far as multitouch I am aware of it.
Everything is working for me and to be honest I am enjoying it more tan I ever thought I would. Not sure what are the problems experienced with camera, mine is working fine. Pictures are not as good as the one taken through Android that I have running off SD, but videos sure are great.
Having problems with XAP... anything because installer doesn't work for me. Both versions supposed to do the same job, in fact. Both claim the phone is either not connected or is locked.
Multitouch works fine for me - pictures are zoomed by pinching etc.
The Camera Issue was common on the HD7 that flash caused a green hue to pictures taken... As for MultiTouch its hit or miss.
For XAP problems in Mango (7720) you need to dev_unlock it using one of the files in Yuki-XBOXMOD CAB Directory that has a long list of cabs for Mango..

Used all the necessary cabs, tools etc - still no go
The camera does have a green hue - tried it last night at the party. Everyone looked like zombies that were dead for some time, haha. Will switch to Android on SD for photos.
- Camera takes greenish shots when using Flash.
- Using the camera button (call button), the camera doesn't focus and just takes the snap leading to blurry snaps. I dunno if this is a WP7 issue or not.
- Video Camera seems to have Continous Focus so in dark scenes it focuses and unfocuses every 10 seconds. Disabling auto focuses removes auto focus completely so thats not an option either.
This is for what I've seen. Its still 99% functional despite all this.
Hi guys,
I am hacing a problem with the autofocus on the default camera app on the nexus 4.
Before when I clicked a picture at the last moment it would make sure the camera is in focus before snapping a picture.
But now it just focus hunts with the focus shifting back and forth and the final result is unacceptable.
I want it to go back to the way it was before.
If I use another camera app like say the ever note camera it works perfectly fine. I'm only having a problem with the default camera.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks a lot guys
Its the way it is.

I understand your problem, but IMO it is not really a problem. Just tap on the object you want to focus and then tap on the circle to take the picture.
Just tapping on the Circle sometimes keeps the focus and sometimes not. its better if you tap and hold for a while before you release your finger.

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I just installed a custom camera app instead and its working like a charm. Its called QuickSnap.
The funny thing is that the default camera used to work perfectly fine before the 4.2 update.
Great!

Thats good, I myself noticed this thing on the stock camera app. but then again just few more taps fixed this but yes I tried Snap Camera
there no such issues with that, even on Instagram camera.
But I don't know why i feel that stock camera app is the best.
Cheers!
I'm having this big problem too.
Any of you guys notice that sometimes when using the flash it'll show the picture as overly bright right after you take it? but once you view it in the gallery it looks normal

Nope, i've searched everywhere but nothing.
Hi everyone,
I hope this is the right section for this kind of questions.
Anyway, I'd like to know if someone can help me.
I'm absolutely not able of getting Google Camera to work.
I tried different version, I think the problem is caused by the fact that our phone has a SD801...
But I have no idea how to solve it.
Camera just crash as soon as I open it.
Thanks to everyone!
Lorenzo Benevento.
Not just coz soc is sd801
It is arm based
Google camera is nowadays built for arm64 architecture
And which version would work?
If there is one obviously!

The versions which came with nexus 6 would work
That will be around v3
I tried but I can't downgrade. How come? It shows "corrupted package".
i use Google camera 2.7 in my zuk z1
I downgraded to 2.7.010, It works and connect to camera but I'm unable of taking videos!
It start recording but when I tap on the stop icon it freezes and the only thing that I can do is to reboot the phone. Or close the app (but camera would be busy, so no tourch for example or no other photos until the next reboot).
magnet1215 are you able to take videos?

Try this snapdragon camera. It will crash on first pic taken, first video taken, first slow or fast motion video. But honestly I tried lot of camera apps and this is best one of all.

Here you are. I extracted from /data/app.
Does anyone else have a problem with video recording? No matter which app I use the camera hunts for focus occasionally resulting in the frame zooming in and out, or out and in, slightly. I can't manage to get more than 3/5 seconds of rock solid framing?
I have the same issue (LineageOS 14.1) and came here to ask which app I should use to avoid this problem!
This video shows the refocusing really well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCcEp3oD4aY

Do you use the stock ROM or a custom ROM like I do?
Maybe ZTE will repair your phone?

It looks like your camera is refocussing a lot more frequently than mine!
I'm running the Stock ROM and camera app at the moment. I don't think it's a hardware problem as the camera does not refocuss when taking a still photo.
I can't have ZTE look at it as there's no service center in the UK (and I bought it from Gearbest).

You are right! :good: I changed the 'touch focus duration' in the LOS camera app from '0s' to 'infinite' and now the focus does only change if I click elsewhere!
There should a similar setting in the stock camera app!

Can you upload a screenshot of the video settings?
You mean 'Open Camera' (Camera App) - https://f-droid.org/app/net.sourceforge.opencamera? Which setting you changed? I had no refocussing without changing any setting.

Using Open Camera has fixed the problem for me!
The stock camera app only seems to have fixed focus settings for the stills camera!

Yes it took a while to find the settings! The continuous autofocus setting ("c") causes my Mini to hunt for focus every 2/3 seconds. All the other settings work as expected with no hunting.
Doh! I've just found that you can lock focus and exposure using the Stock camera app! You just need to long press on the target circle after you have selected the object you want to focus on.
https://youtu.be/Un0FJCYKTcM?t=216
Once locked you can choose another object to focus another and it will lock focus on that without having to long press again.
