Hello.
When i try to update my radio i sometimes get to 100% but then it says Software update failed. Please try again.
and if i let it stand at the TRIcolor screen for some seconds too long it get stuck at a random percentage...
when i try to install a rom it get stuck at a random %.
I have tried different HSPL(using 2.08HSPL atm) but same result.
The only thing i can get to install is magldr, but even here in the magldr meny it get random freezes.
I just bought it used and the bootlogo is NRG Energizer. (tought it would be htc

UPDATE:
I was just wandering if it was the battery that was failing? because the phone always seem to "Work" when it has been off for a while.
a couple of minutes in with the phone booted it may random freeze or soft-reset and then i have to let it "cool" before it will start booting Energy rom again. (it gets stuck on phone Splash screen without showing in red which Radio and rom i have etc.) After i let it "cool" it starts and i can see in red which radio and rom i have from the phone splash screen.
The same freeze also occours when it is not "cooled" down and i try flashing feks. a radio.
I managed to flash the radio early in the morning when the phone still was "cooled" down
any theories?

Have you considered reformatting the NAND (Task29)? I just learned about that process. It may help.

Thanks, but i have allready tried that a couple of time.
I think it may be radio bricked as it always fail on RADIO with when i try SD method with stock rom, or any radio.
however i have managed to get it success with RADIO Radio_2_07_51_22_2 and Radio Radio_2_14_50_04.
but i havnt got any closer to booting the OS i think
i heard that if i install a rom without radio it may boot?
any1 know of any rom?

Hey guys, So i got my HD2 brand new the other day, i HSPL'd the device, then used task29 to remove the existing copy & then installed "Energy.Leo.23569.Sense2.5.Cookie.May.17".
No problems, i install some apps & my favourite psx rom emulator.
Anyways whenever my fone needs to restart, it restarts fine. then as the white HTC screen is loading up... thats all it does, ive had to re-do my fone 4 times in the past night, cause whenever i've had to restart it, take battery out etc it just goes to htc white screen and does nothing from their. Not even the orange/red writing at the bottom comes up...
Any ideas?

oh lmao I didnt even know you have to install a radio after using task29 i will try this when i get in & post back later on :>
its not because of task 29, its because many cookedroms require certain radios, or minimum radio version. check the particular roms thread, the chef usually advises on radio.
OK, I received a T-Mobile hd2 that was and still is stuck on "stick together " screen. I tried the reset button on the back, taking out the battery, checked for bents battery pins, and I downloaded 2 "official" .exe roms and renamed to zip and extracted.the nbh file and renamed to leoimg.nbh and tried to flash them.via a formatted fat32 2gb SD card and only one worked, kind of but gets stuck at like 15% of the way?? For like 10 min..I just pulled the battery. .I tried it twice..Please help me out here..this is what is says on the bootloader screen if that helps??

You need to make sure you are flashing the correct stock ROM. Try downloading and flashing the official T-Mobile US 2.13 ROM, that SHOULD get you back to working. Everything you are doing is correct, Fat32 formatted SD card, under 4GB....nice job searching before posting, that is to be commended. Anyways, try the 2.13 ROM and let me know what happens.
Have you tried a hard reset? Or task 29 while in bootloader mode?

Ok i tried the 2.13 rom and it flashed and said success! but then it just stayed at that screen?? so i pressed the reset button on the back and now its back to the stuck "stick together" screen!! ??? should i have waited till it rebooted after it said "succes "?? i waited like 5 min and nothing and i just pressed the reset button..or should i have taken out the battery??
Yeahhh...you may have jumped the gun a little bit...after is says success, it takes like 10 more minutes for the ROM to set everything up. Go into bootloader and try flashing it again with the stock ROM and wait for at least 10 minutes and see what happens.
OK ill try that if I get lucky enough for that successful update..LOL
But I flashed a hspl2 (2.08) and can't I just flash away?? (USB..bootloader mode) ?? Since the phone is always stuck on the bootloader screen..
I just open the exe flash program and connect my hd2 in bootloader mode and I get the USB mode on the bootloader screen and I flash away..but it but it always stops at a certain point...mostly 8%..???
Yeah you can just flash away like usual. HardSPL isn't required to flash an official ROM anyways.
what am i doing wrong!!?? i tried ,many roms but hang at 8% 95% of the time?? i tried kumars tmous v2.9 s23139 se rom, the ruu_leo_1_5_tmous_2.10.531.0_radio_15.34.50.07u, and T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_2.13.531.1, all stop at 8%???!! ...i always do task29 after every failed rom to be clean and start over..thats right..right??
i have the hspl 2.08
i have a feeling im flashing an incompatible rom that requires a different radio rom??

i tried many other roms, kumar, core cell, official tmobile us roms, they all either stop at 0%, 1%, 8%????? im going crazy here!!! whats going on?? i have hspl 2.08 and i do a task29 before every flash, but the wierd thing is that it doesnt auto reboot after task29?? it should, right?? and even after a hspl3 flash it doesnt reboot, the phone use to reboot automatically after one of those??? no i have to take out the battery for 15 seconds and put it back for it to boot again into bootloader?? and wierd thing is that sometimes if a flash fails and when i get it the hd2 to turn back on and if i do the hard ereset (volume up and down and then press up to reformat) it then reboots and hangs at the boot image of the last failed flash?? i thought when i do a task29 everthing should be erased???

Did you have Android loaded on that same microSD card? Does it hang if your microSD card is out.
After you task 29 it should auto reboot, then you press Volume Down and Power to get into bootloader. Have you tried flashing from your PC via USB? If you are flashing form the card a stock rom, it will overwrite your HSPL to Stock SPL. You probably know this. Also if you flashed 2.13 then you need to install HSPL3 and not the original HSPL program. 2.13 has 2.10 firmware. HSPL only supports 2.8 firmware.
I've always heard when it hangs on boot up that it's usually something on your card.
it never had android, i got it with the stock firmware and it was messed up, stuck on "stick together" screen..and i never have the sd while im flashing via usb in bootloader.. i tried many roms, and task29 followed by hpsl3 and then i would flash custom roms and even stock roms but all fail?? all stop at like 8%, but the wierd thing is that even the task29 sometimes fails at 0% so im suspecting maybe its from windows 7? but i did try xp and the samething, the roms would stop usually at 8% or 0%??? ...weird?

Ok i got it to accept a rom flash from sd card!! But it just stayed at the "update complete, update success" white screen??? I waited over 10min the i did a reset and hard reset...and now stuck at the boot logo??? I heard i might need a higher radio??? 2.10 or higher?? Is this why its not booting up?? Can i flash the radio through sd card??

You can flash a radio, just like a rom form the microSD card...
is there such a thing as a wrong radio version for a rom or "required" radio version for a rom?? will that cause the phone not to boot up???

I've never had issues using any Radio with any ROM really. Some combos work better than others but won't cause your problem. If I were you I would task29, then flash the 2.13 or the new 3.14 shipped ROM via microSD to take the SPL back to stock. Then I would flash HSPL3, then reflash a Custom ROM or the Stock ROM via USB. Then do a couple hard resets after that. If that doesn't work I'm thinking Hardware.

Wtf!! I tried to restore the stock tmous roms (2.13 and the latest 3.14) and all would stop at 8%???? And i reverted back to stock 2.08 spl..still hangs at 8%??? But if i flash that core cell rom...itll say success 100%..??/ why???? Man this freakin hd2 is makin me go crazy...hardware issue maybe??

I really hope I am not going to be flamed to death with my question as I have search everywhere for an answer.
This is the 1st time I have tried updating my phone to an Android ROM but I have run into a bit of a problem. I have updated the SPL on my phone to 2.08 HSPL.1
I am trying to load the Radio 2.15.50.14 but it is constantly getting stuck at 8%, I have tried running it several times now to no evail.
When I try and boot my phone it hangs on the HTC logo page, which I have read is resolved by updating the radio, but the radio will not update.
Can anybody please help me out with this as I am pulling my hair out and have spent days trying to resolve it.

I have managed to rescue my phone by installing the latest Stock ROM from the HTC site, I have now reinstalled HardSPL and tried to reinstall radio 2.14.50.14 but on flashing this radio the phone hangs and I am back to sqaure-one. Does anybody have any idea why I cannot install the radio even though 2.08 Hspl in installed?

Strangely enough, it was acting strangely, and would freeze while in bootloader mode (plug in, nothing would recognize it, plug out and USB is still on the screen).
I pull the battery, try again, and get to flashing the Radio, it stops at 96%, and then fails. Try to do the recovery, but when I restart it, I a triangle with an exlamation mark (!), and I can't enter bootloader.
So, is that it...?
Oook, so I got into bootloader, flashed the HardSPL ver to 2, trying to flash the radio again, and it's not moving at 0%...
I'm having a similar issue. I have cotulla's HSPL 2.08 and I cannot flash ANY rom, no stock t-mobile, no android, nothing! Someone please help us! I would hate to see our HD2's go in the drawer and be forgotten

Try and flash the stock (or branded) ROM, either by USB or SD method.
No, I installed that update when it came out, seemed to make the phone worse so I went back to 2.13

a friend was doing similar ...
he upgraded to cotulla's HSPL 2.08 no problem, but when updating to most recent radio to allow him to play with putty or energy it froze at 96% and now just boots to ! screen
will not acknowledge attempts to SDcard flash, and his attempt to flash with latest stock HTC rom fails at random spots between 1% and 45%
going to grab an old stock rom and try voldown/power into tricolor and downgrade I guess
may have had some success ... seems his sdcard was formatted as FAT not FAT32 (doh!)
put duttys latest on the card and sd flashed that no problems, then put latest radio on card and sd flashed that, made it to 100% but 10 mins later and radio flash attempt still sitting at 'update in progress' with bar at 100%
guess I'll try with HTC stock via sd now
no joy there either ... hangs after attempting to flash the first radio portion
RESULT! seems the root cause was cotulla's HSPL 2.08
Ran HSPL_2 went back to 1.66-HSPL
then installed stock 1.48.405.2 which flashed completely and cleanly

i accidentaly flashed an incorrect radio rom and thats where my problem started. although it still vibrates continusly once i put the battery back but im not sure if i can revive this. please help me out.
I managed to flash the latest radio successfully with 1.66-HSPL in place.
I just bullheadedly continually kept reattempting to sdcard flash just the latest radio, maybe 15-20x it either locked or gave me RSA errors.
Just before I was about to fling it into the fireplace, it just *worked* for no apparent reason ...

Hi all, I have a big problem. My phones one week ago starts to freeze sometimes, and yesterday it died completly. I can get into HSPL, but nothing more. When I tray to perform task29 I get error 270-image fail damaged, the same performing magldr or clk install. Even stock 1.66 rom doesn't work, stops on 4% install and phone catch reboot-error. When I power on phone normally, I can see only white screen or after not finished install of stock 1.66 rom or clk or magldr I can see green htc logo-but sometimes with "artifacts"-some pink stripes or pixels. What can I do with my phone? It's completly bricked?
Does it feel hot? One weak ago, when the freezes started, was the phone getting too hot?
I don't think so...it was working generally normal, only few freezes (I must put the battery off 2-4 times to start device...). But I have only one HD2, so I don't know if this temperature was normal...
I try install stock 1.66 rom from nbh file from bootloader, it stops with error RADIO FAIL. So, it is radio bricked. Can I flash rom without flashing radio? Even if it's bricked? Clk doesn't use radio, right?
