[Help!] Made a mistake (i think..) - XPERIA X10 General

Hi X10-fellows...
Been using custom ROMs for a while now and considered myself pretty experienced.
But this morning I wasn't really awake and made a mistake, I think...
I had Wolfbreaks v6-rom. And unlocked bootloader with DoomKernel.
Now this morning I downloaded v7beta and installed it through xrecovery. Probably shouldn't done that. Now the X10 does not boot. I see the custom boot-logo but then nothing, only WLOD.
Now I cant flash anything, not using FlashTool and not using SEUS. The phone goes into flash mode, but nothing happens i FlashTool. In SEUS it says some kind of error message.
What I can do:
Access xrecovery.
Solutions?

well mount the sd card in xrec, put a different rom on your sd card and flash it. Easy solution lol

Dont worry mate, your not doomed at all....the buzz kernel has put your phone in a bootloop, you need to flash the rom to fix it, you can flash a ruu (stock rom) or a custom rom which really is the best thing to do...so much faster thank stock...if you like sense then flash leedroids rom...if you like pure android then flash cyanogen...either way you need to put the rom onto your sd card then wipe everything using clockwork recovery...then flash the rom and your phone will be fixed.. If you then want to flash the kernel you should use the kernel utility update software found in the developers forums..
Really dont panic, let us know what rom you wish to flash and I or someone else will help you.

But i can't place the any roms in my sd card cause my phone can't boot up...
rixsta is right, its a boot loop, and what youve done is flashed the kernal onto your phone without doing a full wipe on the phone...
May i ask have you also install CM yet ?

Can you get into fastboot on your phone...
As in turn phone off hold down the bottom volume button and press power on...keep holding the volume button until the bootloader menu comes up...can you see fastboot??
or go into recovery and mount external storage and mount your SD card then itll appear on your PC if connected by USB

Yes true....but maybe using the kernel utility he can re flash the kernel and push the modules using this software....it sometimes works and would save him flashing a new rom and losing his stock one....I would try this first for sure..
Kernel Update Utility
If you go there, youll be able to flash a kernal easily like rixsta said.
If you still run aground, give the forum a buzz and we can see what else we can do...
Download the kernel utility here ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852357&highlight=kernel+utility
Get into fastboot as I said earlier and plug in your usb cable...aahhh the drivers may not install...bet he's not used android-sdk....with a bit of luck he's running windows 7 and they will install anyway..lets say they do..
Follow the utility instructions and flash the kernel...It may fix your bootloop...if not then you are going to have to mount your sd card using recovery and flash a new rom...

snap ......Im sure he needs the android 1.0 driver to use fastboot???....not used android-sdk using the cmd command for a while so I cant quite remember...(yes I know he wont need android-sdk but Im pretty sure the fastboot driver is in with it...
This is why I always say its so important to do a backup using recovery before you do anything !!

Maybe it was for the best...you will enjoy custom roms, you can do so much..take a quick look at my DHD screenshot...its so far away from stock now
Fkofilee, you are a great help to people. It's people like you who inspired me to give back what I've learned from these forums. Now we pass the knowledge and experience on. Well done!

[Q] force close loop on boot

My problem is after i install miniCM when i restart the phone it is stuck in a force close loop. I can lock/unlock my phone but i can't do anything else even i can't go into xrecovery from then. I reinstalled the rom 3 times (i had to flash 2.1 with x10 flash tool and do the whole procedure again and i have the newest baseband, firmware and i selected reset after flashing) but i have the same problem. Someone help me PLS!
Did you do a full wipe?
yes, i did.
The problem may be overclocking. Try flashing the OC-kill package from miniCM thread and boot it again
i think not the overclocking is the problem. before i used 2.1 with overclock without any problems. and before that i used floyo without overclock, and once i had the same force close loop. that was the reason why i changed back to 2.1.
edit: i don't think you understood my first post. after i get this "force close loop" my phone is totally go wrong, from then i can't use it and can't go into xrecovery.
sorry for my english
Try x10 flashtool, and flash a new rom

yeah i did it 3 times. but how can i get miniCM working?
my friend got that boot loop too,, dont know wat wrongs,, even i flash with rom from my x8, i create new backup[that work fine on my x8-cyanogenShakira v3], still give boot loop,, when doing full wipe, and reset from xrecovery,, succes booting,, but enclair2.1 that show up..weird how could that happen..
format in xRecovery everything what you can format (dont format sd card, make backup of your contacts and app's to sd) format system, data, cache....everything and get back to 2.1 with SEUS, and root your phone again and xRecovery (You know how it goes) It would I do if I were you....

[Q] [HELP!!] X10 Alive, but Deadd??! :( no Recovery

Hey everyone,
I was stupid and wanted to try Jerpela's CM7.1 Rom with ClockWorkMod. After trying the ROM I wanted to switch back to my Rom, or WolfBreak's Rom. But I had ClockWorkMod recovery because that was what was needed for the Cm7 rom. So I tried flashing the zip xrecovery 0.3 from the thread made by zdzihu. CWM recovery said that it could not install it.
So I went and booted and tried installing the apk for xrecovery. On the app when I installed it i had 2 check marks and 1 blocked symbol. I thought recovery had been installed so I rebooted and could not enter recovery. The freeXperia logo did not appear. The Rom booted and now no wifi. And also the root system is not RW, even though i'm rooted.
But even with this I could just use flashtool and flash stock gingerbread. Unfortunately the usb port on my X10 is wobbly and I cannot get connection anymore.
I would not mind staying on this ROM for the life of my X10, but unfortunately Camera, WiFi... does not work
Can someone please help me?? I really want to finish releasing my ROM and really want to see how far the X10 would go with the new sources released.
Thanks, and please help me. I feel soo crappy.
Okay
Do u have a memory card reader ?
If not then buy one
Place your sdcard in it
And copy the ROM in it
And put it on ur phone to try it ...
Hope that helps

Recovery gone and cant connect

Had a problem which I thought was down to spilling wine on my phone (yeh not a good idea) however it may turn out to be the update to 2.3.4. Now the problem is that my computer wont recognise the phone at all and I have tried allsorts and after searching the web it seems the update has derped some peoples phones.
The problem now is that I went back to stock and now cant boot into recovery. Is there a way of putting the recovery img on to the phone via say Awesome drop or an alternative? I am still unlocked but got a stock rom on?

If you still have root access you can use either the flash_image binary or Rom Manager to flash a new recovery.
If you do not then you will need to use fastboot and flash recovery manually.
Use terminal on your phone and flash recovery that way.

No, not got root (just checked). Not 100% how to go about this if my comp isnt recognising my phone. Any ideas? Cheers
Maybe you could try another computer....or a Mac perhaps? (I have both, when one's acting up, i use the other)
Tried another and the same, it seems strange that it could be the USb port on the phone when its only happened after installing 2.3.4

Received MMS => BootLoop => Semi Brick =>Full Brick?

A friend of mine, who used a stock samsung rom (i think it was jvt) with a rooted kernel received an mms which didn't want to display the picture. he clicked a couple of times on it nad then everything began:
- First problem, the phone froze and then it was stuck on boot loop. That was when he called me and asked for help. i adviced him to do a full wipe and try again, no success.
- than i told him to mount his internal sd card, to put a rom on it and flash it. but his pc didn't recognize it.
- i told him to put it on his external sd. I knew, flashing from external sd could cause some problems, but it helped me sometimes. everything went fine. phone booted up, but asked for a pin and displayed something like "encryption failed". So it adviced him to wipe, what didn't help
-the next they i got his phone. First thing i tried was to flash a 3file-stock rom, but it ended with a dbdata errer after installation, so it bootlooped again. Then i tried to install dozens of roms, with repartition, without repartition, a one zip-rom, only the missing dbdata. nothing helped.
- my last attempt was to flash an older froyo rom, which i flashed with pit and repartition. Now recovery and download mode are gone. only thing it does is dislpaying "galaxy s" and turing off again.
long story short: the phone is totally bricked now and i have no idea what to do?
Any ideas?

Its not totally bricked cause it turns on.
Buy a JIG and connect to phone then download will appear
flash stock rom then get warranty if still not working.
thanks, so i hope i'll get the jig soon. what would you flash then?

i would flash stock using odin. then if that works root, flash custom and etc.
If the flashing fails then just fix it from support or try again with JIG.
If u fully stuff up your phone and it doesn't even turn on, go to samsung
and say it stuffed up while u were updating it and hopefully they will fix it for you!
ok so that's what i'll do. any suggestion which specific ROM i should flash? One file rom or 3 file roms? Gingerbread or froyo? do i have to flash a fresh bootloader?

To be honest i'm kinda new with rooting and etc on the SGS, but luckily had heaps of experience on my other android phone.
Well if i was you i would do some research on how to unbrick bricked phones, there should be heaps of vidoes on youtube.
Then i would ask here, then do pray that everything will go well and flash stock rom with ODIN. Well i would prefer GingerBread but it doesn't matter which one.
But if it does stuff up flashing Froyo would be better so you can make the excuse of updating to GingerBread and stuffing up.
Have you tried odin? Does it recognize the phone when you are in download mode? If you cannot go into download mode, find a usb jib for i9000 (cca 10e) and you will get into download mode. Then flash some XXJVU with odin. After that try Slim ICS 3.0 works flawlessly for me!

so this is going to get even more weird:
suddenly the phone started on its own and booted, but i was almost not responding and it was russian i think. then i removed the sd and it didn't want to boot anymore. when i reinsert the sd it boots, but only with this specific sd.
so i decided to make myself a jig to get into download mode. that was no problem, so i flashed jvq with odin. everything went fine, no errors anymore right after flashing. the phone restarted but it wasn't responsive like before. so i flashed again, this time without sd card. but now after flashing there ere some erros like "can't mount media...)
result: the phone won't boot up anymore?
something must have linked the sd card to the phone. to you have any idea? maby flashing bootloaders?
i have flashed dbdata cause it was still mentioned as missing in the error report right after flashing. result: completely bricked phone. It stays off, no jig helps anymore...
Read broodplanks guide to unbrick i9001, may work on ur phone. Or try another sd card, unplug the battery, try everything..
Btw what's ur friends phone? I9000 ?
