Hi im on Cyanogenmod 7.1 Stable HTC DHD , and i've been trying to flash my radio but i always get "FAILED REMOTE NOT ALLOWED" but my ENG S-OFF is off already why cant i flash new radio? my baseband is 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M please help.
That does point to not having ENG S-Off. How did you attain ENG S-Off? Does it say ENG S-Off in the bootloader at the top?
Failed: remote not allowed means you have a shipped hboot (no ENG S-OFF). Does your bootloader say "ship s-off"(radio s-off, no eng hboot) or "eng s-off"?

it says ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF
you need to run a one click eng s-off.

I just need clarification if you will.
I wish to downgrade my radio from 2.22.23.02 back to 2.22.19.26I. Is it just the same process as flashing the radio to upgrade? also is there only one version on of the earlier radio? Here's my Bootloader :

I tried to downgrade my radio from 26.08.04.07_M3 to 26.06.04.14_M but it would'nt let me do it
Everything looks good when I flash it, but after reboot it still says I have the 26.08.04.07_M3 radio?
Any ideas why this happens? Or is'nt it possible to downgrade radios?

I have some questions I need help with. I would like to upgrade to 2.2 ROM (any stable ROM is ok). I read most of the tutorials and other people's post, but I can't find a simple way to upgrade because of my HBOOT and RADIO version. I'm afraid of bricking my phone. Is there a way I could upgrade my phone without having to change the HBOOT or RADIO version? If not, then is it possible for me to use SuperOneClick to root my phone, then use Radio Switcher to change the RADIO version?

I added the about phone info as people can see what kernal is being used...
I think i may need to down grade to get S-Off back, but not sure. So much to read im going around in circles..
Do you mean you want to get Radio S-OFF so you can safely update to 1.72/75 ROM? (You DO have S-OFF, the ENGineering version of it)
There's a dedicated sticky in the dev forum about how to do that.
check in your bootloader > system info and look at your CID if its 11111111 you have super CID and there for will be radio s-off as you gain super CID from the radio s-off tool.

Yes thats it, thank you. so the ENGineering S-OFF = ACE ENG S-OFF. Got it now i understand and yes that is what i wanted to do is upgrade my ROM. I will look for the sticky..

ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF = Radio S-OFF What does this gain?? Signal, Battery??? Can it be left RADIO S-OFF to Flash ROMs or does it need to be ACE PVT ENG S-OFF = S-OFF to do this. Is it easy to change between the too and would i need to..
Super Cid is unbranded then?? when its all the 111111?? what would i gain over the orange cid.. Better radios not locked into orange??

So I now have RADIO S-OFF although
in bootloader it remains ENG S-OFF...

My CID is HTC_032, and it doesn't say Radio S-OFF on the top, it says ACE PVT ENG S-OFF.
But still, I can switch operators, and flash radios etc....
So I don't think you should worry about that, if other operators work and you can install custom ROMs, then it's rooted and unbranded properly.
For example, Ultimate Multi Tool says that my phone is SIM-LOCKED and S-ON, but it's not.
As for Super-CID, it's close to useless if you ask me, maybe important for developers, but other than that...too much trouble for nothing

[GUIDE] How to downgrade 1.7x/1.8x/2.x to 1.32.405.6
ENG S-OFF or SHIP S-OFF? Check that in bootloader. You can downgrade easily, just put the PD98IMG.zip from downgrade guide to your SD and reboot to bootloader. You do not need to follow the command line commands.

are you sure that it says vivo and ace? because VIVO is the code name of the desire s (or Inc S? idk D: ) and ACE is the code name of the Desire HD.
normally you should see
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON (completely locked)
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF (radio s-off)
ACE PVT ENG S-OFF (eng hboot & radio s-off)

I was trying to flash an ICS rom in myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm, and I mess things and wrong the phone. Through trying to get to stock state I also try the HTC Unlock Bootloader for HTC Magic and after using the file SAPP31000_Sapphire_hboot_1.33.0014G now I have this:

I manage to root my phone by trial and error with a combination of three applications:
Superoneclick
z4root
Universal Androot
I don't remember which one and what version but they help me. I suggest to try all.

I finally got it.. learned alot .. then i had to reroot it cause i restored tmous and during the process flashed the wrong eng spl it powers on but no fast boot or recovery. I guess jtag is the only option.. sad part is its my girlfriends from
Sad to hear that. These devices are in big problems when spl and radio don't matches the originals.
Good lock on jtag, sorry I can't help you in that.
