Anyone can backup or have original nandroid backup for a Telus Motorola DEFY !
Thanks a lot !
try to search "clockwork recovery" by Google,,,,,,,,,, sorry for my poor english,
How to create a full backup (Nandroid) :
http://www.goodandevo.net/2010/09/how-to-create-a-full-backup-nandroid-on-your-htc-evo.html
If I understand your question, the answer is this:
1 - Have installed on your Defy CWM (ClockworkMod) via 2ndinit (download on the Market)
2 - Go into recovery mode (power off, press power button + volume - button until the robot with a trângulo, done that, press the volume buttons + _ and at the same time)
3 - Recovery
4 - Custom Recovery
5 - Backup and Restore
6 - Backup
7 - Yes
8- Reboot system
9 - nandroid Backup is done, just when you need to redo these steps (with a wipe data + wipe cache before) to restore.
Telus Nondroid
Does anyone have a copy or know a link for the original Telus Nandroid backup for the Defy?
I cannot make my own as I've already flashed... Oops...
I'm interested in this too.
I've already flashed before making backup of original Telus.
I can help
I also wish I had a nandroid backup for Relish Defy because I didn't make one. But I am going to go through the trouble of rooting another defy and making a backup. It has the Motorola Defy Stock Tom on it. I would really like a thanks because if I mess up my friends phone he'll kill me. Not literally, ill get back to u guys with a link ok? I would like a reply before I make the backup.
Hi,
Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I'm in the same boat as some of the posters here. I installed a custom rom before making a nandroid backup and can't flash the telus full sbf. Did anyone upload a telus defy nandroid backup?

I have rooted and I have twrp installed. I'm planking on installing some cm7 or cm9 ROM. I'm going to backup, wipe and all of that good stuff. My question is, if I flash back to stock, can I recover all of my apps from the backup?
what do you mean with "flash back to stock" ?
hopefully not flashing the original amazon rom !!!
you will loose fff, twrp and root - also some guys bricked it doing this
if you want to flash a stock rom i would recommend one of the prerooted stock roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22393194&postcount=20
would backup your current stock rom, so you can restore it like it was including all apps (select the propper tags in twrp - tap all if you'r not shure)
im asking if i go back to stock, can i restore my apps and such. if thats not safely possible, can i transfer my backed up apps to cyanogenmod?
i don't know a way with twrp
for this is titanium backup from the market - you can save and restore apps as you like:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5rZXJhbWlkYXMuVGl0YW5pdW1CYWNrdXAiXQ..
so i cant transfer apps from my current stock to cm?
that's what titanium backup is supposed to do
ohh ok. thanks!!
glad to help ...

Apologies if this is a daft question.
If I take a nandroid backup (with CWM) from a .32 based ROM and then upgrade to a .35 rom (Aurora), can I easily go back to the .32 ROM simply by restoring the backup??
Kind of looking for an insurance policy if I don't like .35 based ROMs.
Thanks.
yes and no. You will need to downgrade back to 2.2 .32 kernel and reinstall the same cwm recovery version you made the backup with, then you can restore your backup. So yes, you could have your phone back to the way it was, but no you can't go straight back to your backup.
I was able to restore Angry birds (with all my stars)and even my text message history from an Nandroid backup using Titanium Backup. With the Nandroid on the SDCard, open Titanium Backup (requires Root) Go to Backup/Restore. Press Menu key, Press "Extract from Nandroid backup". After that it should be pretty straightforward.
I hope this helps you.
hi everyone
as the title said i just want to remove my cm7 from endless and restore my original gingerbread
i have a backup of my files/system but i don't know how to restore them
i have to flash the correct sbf file before or after restoring the system?
edit: i fell like an idiot, didn't see the topic for questions, can someone merge my question with it?
i think that you can use original SBF again to come back to original rom
i never test that, its a suposition
i think that too but i don't know in wich order
restore gingerbread->flash sbf
or
flash sbf->restore gingerbread
Wipe Data then flash sbf then restore.
But if you did a full nandroid backup with CWM you can just restore it.
i dont' know if it is a full nandroid backup
i have those files: boot.img, cache.img, data.img, nandroid.md5, system.img
if it is the full backup i don't need the sbf right?
by the way i can't use the sbf because i don't have it and i can't download it because megaupload and multiupload are down (i need the italian 2.3.4)
Quick question: is it possible to use the CM kernel with stock UK GB…
i think you can do that, but you must have full cwm backup before, if you wanna restore your data.
or if you wanna band new firmware, you can flash gingerbread rom from firmware.

make a backup with titanium app, then wipe all, flash your new sbf, make root acces and restore backup with titanium again
Hi everybody,
First of all I want to say thanks to this community because I found a lot of informations here and solved many problems I had.
I searched all the day and I don't know what to do with the issue I get now...
I decided to install JellyBlast V3 on my Galaxy Y GT-S5360. Before that I made a backup of my stock ROM with ClockWorkMod (v5.0.2.6) and then I installed JBV3.
All was allright and I wanted to restore my datas only from the backup with the CWM advanced restore. That didn't work (Maybe because I can't restore datas from a different ROM?)
So, I wanted to make a complete restore from the same backup to get all my datas back, but I get the following message :
"data.img not found. Skipping restore of /data
.android_secure.img not found. Skipping restore of /scard/.android_secure.
Restore complete!"
The phone can boot up but my datas are not restored at all.
I explored the backup folder and there is no "data.img"... but in some resolved threads I read people didn't have it neither... and I am a big optimist so I kept searching...
I tried to restore again but with another zip file of CWM (who resolve some bugs) I found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27475895
But It failed again with the same issue.
I read that if the kernel changed the restoring is not possible anymore so a previous kernel have to be installed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27475895 )
To be sure, I installed a stock ROM with Odin by following this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
I picked the S5360_XXKL3_OXXKL1_XXKL3 bundle.
Since I installed the fresh ROM I tried to restore datas again, but I got the same issue again...
So, I want to understand why I get this error ?
Maybe flashing with a stock ROM is not enought to replace the present kernel by the original one ?
Thanks for enlighted me (and sorry for my english)
By any chance is your CWM called gt-s5360CWM or something
You have to backup with a clean CWM and restore with the same clean CWM

Indeed, the first CWM I used to create the backup was "GT-S5360_CWM.zip" but the restore doesn't work.
The second CWM I tried is called "CWM_bla_bla.zip" and the restore failed with this one too.
I think the backup I made is not proper
Thank you for your help.
PS : if my backup is corrupted, is there a way to recover at least my contacts with a backup explorer or something ?
EDIT : I think my backup is definitely not good, I made another one with the "unbugged" CWM and It makes more files including a "data.rfs.tar" file...
After recovering a Nandroid backup i'm getting a dozen of app force closing
What to do ?
Flash stock and don't use a nandroid backup?
There are tools on the play store that extracts segments of nandroid backups.

Out of curiosity, which recovery did you use?
I use Chenglu's CWM, I've backed up and restored more times than I can remember, without issue.
Also, did you restore from TB? If so you may want to look here.
Good Luck.
My recovery is CWM
What I did step by step :
- Backup Nandroid Backup
- install some stuff through CWM (flash some .zip)
- see that the zip's aren't working
- Restore Nandroid Backup (complete)
- Reboot
- As soon as I'm in my launcher, a bunch of apps force close....
I wasn't aware of the TiBackup bug on the Note 3, thank you, I already had apps stuck trying to be restored on Tibackup
So I guess it is time for me to find a new rom to start a new life, gosh I had more than 200 apps on my Note 3
Tired of Touchwizz based rom but can't do without spen and camera sharpness
Also going to find a better recovery

Power on the phone, go into settings and go into "Backup and Reset"
and there you will see the option "factory data reset".
Select the factory data reset and most likely it will solve
the FC issue you are experiencing.
Good luck!
