Yeah I just scooped it up myself. Lets see how this software is.....
Also Mods may want to move this to the App section.
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like a good app. Just skimmed it but notice you can edit any document straight away without having to hit another button to edit -nice. Opened a PDF but was really slow loading each page. loved the animated icons and menu strip looks professional and sleek.
Didnt know about amazon app store before. Stupid thing doesn't work in Canada though? Lame
cant download free apps in Vietnam. Anyone willing to attach a file?

Unfortunately, even though it was free on Amazon for a day, it's paid software... so you won't be able to get a copy here. I feel bad that people can't use the Amazon market internationally though... the free app is sometimes a good one.
I got my the other day Thanks
It's a great app. One really nice feature is that it recognizes password protected files. The Asus Polaris software doesn't.

Opened up the Readers Hub today, just to check if it was working yet, and was welcomed by two little green 'install' buttons on both the magazines and newspapers option. These buttons open up a Samsung modified app installer, and now...it's all working.
This is in Switzerland, running an unbranded unlocked 16GB SGT on Swisscom Liberty Grande contract.
EDIT: Ok, my excitement is growing less by the minute. While it works nicely, it seems there's no free content, neither in Newspapers nor in Zinio. Even the free papers that you can pick up at every bus stop around here (20Minuten) want to charge you. Not interested in paying for news when I can just use the the browser to read the online version for free.
EDIT 2: Right, it seems when you go through the Zinio website there's an option to search for free issues, and there's quite a few good ones there. No such option on PressDisplay however.
hm, still waitin...buy the way tnx for report
Just checked mine here in the UK and was greeted with the install buttons
Thanks for the heads up.

Just showed up for me today in Australia too.
Installed and bought a few issues through Zinio already.
Running well so far except for one of my subscriptions having problems downloading.
Got to laugh, daily star which costs around 35 pence or maybe less for a hard copy is costing 99 pence per issue. Not tempted to go digital at that price, just going to do the usual and fire up the car on a morning and buy it

Not working in the US t-mobile version. Bummer. Looking forward to zinio.
Please post a link to working aol if available.

Zinio is great value, as a UK magazine reader being able to subscribe to US versions of magazines for around $10 for a years subscription is superb value to me! (They look great on my iPad, hoping they look just as good on my RoadWarrior SGT!)
With PressReader, if you have an online subscription to The Times (about £9 a month) you can download the Daily and Sunday editions (+All the extra magazines), perfect for my commute!
The readers hub was a huge deciding factor for me in buying a SGT, Im looking forward to trying it out once I get home today!
i have the tmobile tab and i don't even see the readers hub app. How can I get it?
too bad zinio is mostly usless for non-english ppl. I don't get why we get kobo and zinio but no media hub in europe.

Also in the UK. Works fine
PS: free samples can be added to your Zinio account via the web interface. Then use the app to read the content.
Note: By the way, my Galaxy Tab is flashed with the latest P1000XWJK1 firmware (November 2010). I don't think this would make a difference, as the Samsung App Market functions normally (I see 2 apps in there).
WTH? So I just lost access to my FHM subscription on the galaxy tab. Even the issue that I had downloaded earlier today had magically vanished.
Can't even see similar magazines through the tab any more.
I hope this is isn't some kind of iPad compatibility issue... What with it being two competing devices with different philosophical views on censorship.
can someone post the zinio apk. in my hub, i installed the kobo one
Here in Finland in Tab there is Readers hub with PressDisplay, Kobo and Zinio.
PressDisplay gave some freebies.
In Kobo there is about 200 free books to choose.
Zinio, no freebies.
About PressDisplay; the biggest newspaper in Finland, Helsingin Sanomat is missing, only 11 smaller ones available. And yes, those free trainstation-takeaway-b****-publications cost also 0,99€ -no thanks.
First I was exited, but not any more. Newsroom is still my killer app.
Greediness kills a lot good ideas.
PressDisplay and Zinio now online in the Philippines. Finally!!!!

You will need the .apk files for those programs.
If the generous international users can dump their .apk files for us Americans, it would be greatly appreaciated. Sharing is caring.

Ok, is it just me? even with pop ups blocked, in browser, starting tonight I get an annoying best buy ad at the bottom of every screen. Close it out, and it appears every time I go to a new page... who can I pay to get this Crap off.

it's not just you it's REALLY PISSING ME OFF TOO!
Also really annoying here. I am on a laptop so screen space is precious, I used to click on ads on occasion but with these new annoying ones I will no longer click any ads until they are gone.
Yeah I never block ads but this site made me install adfree for Chrome tonight. So annoying!
I've been avoiding the site all day because of it. I may never go to best buy again.

that's naughty - from what I heard amazon kind of foot the bill for the free apps (the dev's get their cut still) so ripping the apk off, while it will also have some 'Market validation' checker in it still, would basically be like piracy, cause if you wanted to play it you'd need to crack that too...

Google has your answer
I was lucky enough to snag a TF101 on Black Friday. Stood in line for 3 hours with all the other nuts.
Anyway, I quickly rooted and flashed a new kernel to overclock. I'm loving this tablet so far. I haven't tried different roms yet, I'm aware of those which remove the bloatware Asus puts on. At the moment I'm still content with stock rooted. I want to remove the bloatware though. I searched but couldn't find a list of what's safe to remove and what's not. If someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Theres alot of the devs now removing all apks they can and putting them in a zip incase people want them maybe look at whats i them and you will know what is safe to remove
Or look at the dev threads they usually list what they have removed although some dont so have a proper look.

Not in Asus' version, but you also don't get updates in that. Just buy it on the market if you want it; it's cheap and you'll get proper updates, rather than having to wait months for bug fixes.
I removed all of the stuff asus loaded on it and the only problem I've had was trying to install an official build from Asus since the files were modified. Other than that, it runs just fine.
There are some sites that if you access from a notebook the content is free, but if you access from a tablet it's not. I was wondering if there is any way to trick the site and don't show that i am accessing with a tablet and get the full content.
Thanx

that's odd... i've never heard of a site charging for content because you are using a tablet...
any who.... what you are looking for is to change the "UA String"
in the built in browser you need to type ABOUTEBUG
then go into the settings menu and you should see a new menu item that says debug (or something like that. i don't have my xoom with me right now)
go in there and you should see an option for UA String. click that and then click on desktop.
in any other browser you just have to look for the setting that changes the UA String.
Good luck and have fun!
thanx mate, worked perfectly. some sites, like online newspapers, are free in you access from a note or a desktop.....but you need to pay if you access from a phoe or a tablet......

I busted out laughing at my desk when I read this because it feels like a cover up.
On a more serious note, it becomes quite the game if your holding the Xoom in one hand and doing whatever with the other I would imagine. Hefty device.

anyway i was really talking about newspapers; for other things i prefer bigger screens.
BTW, I'm actually using Opera that can be setup as desktop and no more need about the debug trick.
Just one site to rule them all xvideos.com
