Hey devs of the g2 do you think its possible to port this rom to our phone?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313337
It seems everything is working!
haha man are you serious?!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1309854
and that nexus S rom, not everything is working. there are quite a few bugs and it's only an SDK port did you even read that thread, or check our dev forums?!
Hey but in our sdk port the touchscreen doesnt even work so yeah!
but the Nexus S chipset (hummingbird) is so different from ours (snapdragon S2), so it's definitely not worth it, especially since we know source will come out soon
Yeah their port looks amazing! The one on the g2 doesnt have touch screen drivers so it isnt as fun to use. But, you can use the TP to move the cursor. You have to move the cursor and click at the same time in order to click on anything. I havent seen anyone post that and dont really know why. Its cool to look at though.

yea, let us know
it's certainly buildable for the hero - but most hardware will be broken I would imagine.
Sitting here, playing with an ugly port of the sdk, the first images, most just to remove my pin code so I can get into the system
yes elelinux!
do you think when the sources get released you would have much chance of building a full (or near full) working honeycomb rom?

I think it's possible, but it will not be easy. Especially because Honeycomb is made for tablets... and not for our phones.
If it's built from SDK I bet that almost none of the hardware is working...

That is correct, but strangely all the backlighting of the buttons etc worked out of the box, buttons it is easy to fix if you want.
Just a little test for fun nothing else, also saw that there was support for mdpi so theoretically it could be working on Hero with some manual intervention.
Another thing to, boot up without problems

Yes but hardly anything is working! Even the Nexus one has no audio, wifi, bluetooth, calls!
Yes, it is foolish to ask for a ROM that's meant to run on tablets to be made for phones. But I never have never said and never will say no to a new ROM...
Sent from my Hero using XDA App
Yes it's going to run like ass and our screens won't do any good either.
But... as always, I'm eager to see what crazy stuff the ROM-people come up with.
but the sdk version includes some feature of switching from tablet to mobile mode by simply changing resolution... they won't have included it if it wasn't meant to be run on mobiles, and in 3.1, mobile (2.x) and tablet (3.0) development lines shall be joined (says wikipedia lol). moreover, lots of people out here said it would be impossible to run 2.2 and 2.3 on hero, and right now i'm looking at my rooted android 2.3 hero which is incredibly smooth and stable (way better than with stock os). so why shouldn't it be possible? ele just said even backlight of the buttons worked out of the box, which was not case in 2.x. i'm still believing in our developers (although i can't code well enough to support them ) and i'm sure they'll do some magic
greets, Summoner
Do you really use wikipedia for truths? Anyone can add to Wiki?!
no i don't... i just think it sounds possible... otherwise, there would be two future development lines which the consequence would be that there were VERY different features depending where more / the better devs work on lol^^
i didn't claim it was the absolute truth, otherwise i wouldn't have explicitly said it came from wiki ...

I'm not sure what you are asking for...
Android/Google hasn't released the Source Code yet. So no developer has it. as of right now you can use a SDK port but many of the main features aren't working.
when they goin to port ics in to my touch?
the nexus s is runnig ics all ready

I don't care what the Nexus S is running. We don't own Nexus S phones. Google has not released the source code for Android 4.0 yet. So no developer has it in their hands. EVERYTHING that is out there is a build from the SDK, so there will be flaws.
for a week or two there was a SDK port floating around here on XDA. the thread has been removed due to instability (or some other TOS)... but here is proof of my statement. http://omgdroid.com/2011/10/25/ice-cream-sandwich-4-0-1-sdk-port-mytouch-4g/

no need to state the obvious...
who cares? be patient buddy.
Im itching to try and port ICS, but an SDK port isn't what you want to work with if it can be avoided.
Title is quite confusing, I don't know is your inquiring about when ICS went to the MT4G or something else.
If you really want to use an SDK you can A) port it yourself B)Buy a nexus C)Wait for source D)use ICS theme & launcher

As far as I know, that build never made it past boot looping. I don't think the "dev" even had a MT4G, so there was no way he could get it working. He had similar posts for several devices for which he was attempting to get working ICS.

You should be able to get it to work, maybe with some bugs. If you never try you, won't know what might happen
From my fist to your face, enjoy!
It's being worked on by myself and a couple others. No eta or anything, but I'll start a thread in general section when we have more info on where we stand to keep everyone updated.
Sounds goods to me

I found this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24086460&highlight=updater-script#post24086460 that says how to port MIUI to any device, but I don´t know so much about development so I don´t know if MIUI would be compatible or not with TF101.
Does anyone know if it is possible and if yes, test it?
Maybe ask sportstar, who's taking care of our aokp build, he might know how. I know I wanna try miui on the tf101, that'd be nice
Sent from my ICS HTC Rezound
I wish a such thing to happen, cuz frankly I LOVE MIUI unfortunately its not properly designed to be used on tablets but rather on phones

Of course it will be fine to port it to tf, but the interface might be deformed.
Well I have tried to port it following the tutorial, it wasn´t so difficult. I can´t flash it right now so I am goint to upload it and openning a thread so you will be able to test it.
The Kindle Fire has a version in their development section, from the screenshots, it doesn't look too bad, but you can definitely tell its not meant for tabs yet.

is any new info about porting miui to tf101???
ok so samsung has released a second device with almost the exact same firmware as the sgs3, so if your having trouble porting the sgs3 firmware
maybe stuff from this firmware could help you out
http://global.samsungtomorrow.com/?p=16117
i dont know when its firmware will be released, but im sure that if a device like this can use a rom like that, why can we
i really hope theres at least one dev out there working on this

ugly as **** but maybe can help
its not about the device, its all about us, hehe, no really, im so angry samsung made this device with a firmware like that, my rom so far is the closest thing any i9100 user will get to TWUX, hopefully this will help, and are you porting the sgs3 rom?
That is QVGA, too small for our screen.
and the point of this port is?
ur joking right? it has a smaller screen resolution so the interface will look crap and pixelated if its running on S2 native resolution..
even if its TWUX it doesn't mean it have the same features as S3. heck, it comes no where closer to S2 in terms of software and hardware..
i know that, **** the phone, lets check out the kernel, boot img etc.
it doesnt need a complicated kernel, because its only maybe a 200 mb rom,
idk, i was just putting it out there, it might help someone, and i know its not hdpi,
that was not the point of this post

i liked this phone till i saw the specs,2mp camera and gsmarena states is 850 mhz processor and it runs ics, dont know about the ram or gpu,if it can run nature ux then you could port it to s2 dont know about its qvga screen
www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_chat_b5330-4866.php
its not about any qvga, its about the kernel, and the boot img, maybe they are having problems in certain areas that this device might help them with, idk, i just thought it would be useful

You don't need to see it. You want to see it.
This would be cool. Awhile back there was an influx of Ubuntu touch roms early on, unfortunately back then it was unstable and buggy as sin. So people lost interest in it for awhile.
