nexus s 4g from china, want help from here developers - Nexus S General

now we can use cdma 1x in china with nexus s 4g, but the baseband of nexus s 4g is not suitable for evdo in china. so we need help.

My pre-phone is milestone2, in china i use the rom of the motorola(for china), also the signal is very poor, with the europe baseband the phone works very well.
So i thought maybe it is a problem of baseband(wrong frequence for china evdo) with nexus s 4g.

where did you buy it from?
you should have contacted your carrier on what bands they work.
and see if the nexus s 4G was suitable for it(if it can use it or not. like the HZM)
like for example.my carrier. BEN.NL
uses 1800MHZ.so i need to use a HSPDA/GSM phone.

There will be no way to change the frequencies.

I would extract the baseband script into the source and take a look at the broadcom source files.

Trade T-Mobile N1 for AT&T N1?

I bought a used N1 on eBay. I totally wasn't even thinking about the fact that there are different models of the phone for different carriers. Turns out I have the T-Mobile N1, but I have AT&T service currently.
I assume that there is no kind of mod/firmware to get it to use AT&T 3G, and that it's the hardware that limits me to T-Mo? Probably more than some custom firmware or something could fix?
That kind of sucks, if so. I doubt anyone would have an AT&T model, looking for a T-Mo model, eh?
Thanks for any help, if it's even possible..
Have you looked at the seller's return policy?
No returns accepted, as stated on the item page.
I can live with it (in remorse)..
The seller didn't mention what model it was at all, either.
I don't suppose Verizon uses the same bands as T-Mo?

No, they don't. T-Mobile and Verizon use totally different radio technologies.
Go onto the Marketplace forum on XDA, and trade/sell it through there.
Put your sim card in it

Post it for sale locally on craigslist to finance a unit with the AT&T radio.

Also if you have trouble locating the AT&T compatible N1, you may also consider the Telus version of HTC Desire. Largely the same hardware, AT&T bands, but no Euro 2100 band.
Possible bonus: AT&T does not know the IMEI of Telus Androids, and might not force you to a higher cost smart phone data plan.
Thanks for your input, guys.
I'll try first to sell it locally via Craigslist.
I really think that it will be much more difficult
since they discontinued the Nexus One, and provided it through the developers only,
it has always been the T-Mobile version which is quite disappointing....
the AT&T version seem to just disappear from manufacturing all together
point I am trying to make is that it the AT&T version should be much rarer and possibly worth more on the market since there are less quantities of it
it sucks my friend I feel for you...
How is the T-Mobile N1 different from AT&T model?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Different radio frequencies and limited availability. Otherwise identical.

I've done the exact opposite...got myself an ATT N1 while on tmobile...hahaha
hahah. I've since sold my T-Mo N1 on eBay and bought an AT&T N1 from Craigslist.. got a sweet deal, too!
wait wait a sec
If you Unlock the S off on the nexus one Tmobile. You can use a At&t sm card with out a problem. I UnloCked the S off ON the mytouch 4g AND IT works on At&t s network. HMMMM. Wondering if it works.

Yes, it will function on the network. The issue is that the radio hardware is built for specific frequencies, which differ between the T-Mobile and AT&T models.
You can use one phone on the other's network just fine as a phone, but you will be limited to 2G data speeds, as AT&T uses 850/1900MHz for their 3G data and T-Mobile uses 900 1700/2100MHz.
Umm, nobody uses 900 MHz for cellular in North America... that spectrum is not allocated for that purpose here.

You're right, my apologies. The fact of the matter (that the hardware is incompatible between the AT&T and T-Mobile networks) remains intact though.
Correct 3G data frequency information, as best I can make it out:
AT&T uses 850MHz and 1900MHz.
T-Mobile uses 1700MHz and 2100MHz.
900MHz and 2100MHz are used primarily in Europe; a phone made for European markets will have a better chance of being fully compatible with T-Mobile's network in the states based on sharing the 2100MHz band.
Closer but still not quite
Read up on the AWS band. European phones will not get T-Mobile 3G at all without 1700.
But in the specific case of the Nexus One, models sold in Europe do have AWS.

I just got the mytouch 4g and i wanted to sell my nexus one. But i wanted to double check and see if i can sell it to someone on the at&t network. I currently have tmobile. I thought the S-Off was to completely unlock the phone. So u can switch between carriers. Didnt know the frequency would be different. thank guyz. Damn u HTC.

What kind of shape is your T-Mobile N1 in?
I'm actually in the process of switching to T-Mobile, and I have an ATT model that I would potentially be interested in trading, but it's definitely not mint.

Which variants have phone functionality?

I'm very interested in getting a Note 8.0 but if I did get it I would want one that has the phone functionality and is capable of connecting to hspa+ on aws band 4 (I'm on tmo US). I know it's not very likely to happen in the US but I was hoping maybe Wind or some other carrier would release one with the feature intact and the bands I need. Anyone hear anything?

One thing to keep in mind is that T-Mobile US is in the process of rolling out 1900Mhz data bands, so you will be able to use EU standard GSM devices (like the n5100), and AT&T compatible phones with 3G/4G data.
It's not everywhere yet, but you can check Airportal/ to see if people are getting 3G/4G data in your area. It's currently rolling out in my area, and I've been seeing 3G and H signals on my EU GSM Xperia Mini more and more often. Pretty sweet, really.
Cheers.

[Q] Any Nexus 4 China Mobile users here?

Hi All,
I am using nexus 4 with my China Mobile sim card.
As far as you know, China Mobile do not support International 3G/4G networks. They are only running TD-SCDMA which do not support by nexus.
The signal on my nexus 4 is not so stable. It sometimes lost signal and wont come back unless I switch to fly mode on and off.
Also the EDGE data is worse than iphone. The iphoen users can navigate website well I do not have any data connections.
I didn't root my neuxs now. Is there any suggestions? like root the phone and use some other base band. etc...
Thanks & regards
Well you could root and attempt using an earlier baseband such as .33 although it may easier to attempt to switch carriers.

how about choose only 2G mode in your network settings, if the 3G is meaningless for you
Is it working on 2G only?

I am heading to China soon, and want to use China Mobile on my LG Nexus 4 as well.
I'm using it and I don't have problems.
Well...it's China mobile and you only have edge.
For Google services...at times it is like that.
PS.
I'm on stock 4.2.2 and rooted
I have full bar signal in my area
Anything not china = relatively slow

Hi, I suggest you choose China Unicom if you want high speed data. China Mobile only support TD-SCDMA which nexus 4 does not support.

Mate 7 TL10 only getting HSPA with TMobile

I decided to order the Chinese TL10 version of the phone and im only able to get 3g HSPA on the t-mobile network. One thing i must say though is that even though it says HSPA, i am still getting 4G comparable speeds when im using it and it hasnt disappointed in connectivity. This phone is freakn fast so im anxious to see how much faster it'll get on 4G. Can you guys point me in the right direction?
If you are based in USA, specially T-Mobile use FDD B4, aka AWS, and the Chinese version does not support it.
Good news you receive HSPA+.
thank you for sharing this information

Even though the Ascend Mate 7 is available primarily outside of North America, this unit was still able to connect to LTE networks on T-Mobile and AT&T. It does struggle with maintaining the connection from time to time, but the mobile network experience has been reliable for the most part. Call quality is also good, with calls coming in quite clear at both ends of the line.

Once we have the international version rom for the TL10, we should be able to flash it and open up all the other bands in the radio, that are enabled in the tl09
Not really related to this phone but is it possible by any means to enable WCDMA frequencies in TDCdma phone? Thanks in advance.

The Chinese MT7-TL10 comes with both WCDMA and TD-CDMA. For some models that come with TD-CDMA only, there is no way to have CDMA, for instance, P7-L05.

Using NA Version In Japan

So I live Tokyo Japan. I would easily buy the Japanese version, but the the price is rape city at ¥74,000. Does anyone know if the North American version will work in Japan? The NA version even at proper dollar conversion is at only ¥59,000 yen.
Anyone?
Yes and no. It lacks most of the LTE bands used so you may not get LTE in Japan. But you might, and sometimes people figure out how to enable extra bands so there's that. If I were you though I wouldn't count on it working on LTE, but that's just me.
What carrier do you have, I could tell you a bit more if you tell me.
Edit: never mind see you have DoCoMo. Like I said in the other thread, you only would get band 3, not sure if they have band 3 in Tokyo.

I see ou can help about it
I have ordered the US version (as I have a friend in us right now) and I live in Israel
I had no idea there are us version and global version
Will US version work in Israel? how can I check it, I tried to see in willmyphonework.net but I cant find Nexus 6p there
as per wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks) Israel uses band 3for LTE.
as per google (https://store.google.com/product/nexus_6p)
The american version has band 3, so it should work.
