I am attempting top install a zip from the sd card and when I click on that option it is going to the screen with the circle and the top hat and just sitting there.
THis is my first ROM on my HD2. How long should it take before clicking over to the zip files so I can open. It hangs for 5 minutes with no activity.
Pressing the wrong button. You are pressing end, which takes you to top hat (or up one level from sub menus)
Try pressing send instead.
Send - select
end - up one level, or top hat if already at top level.
I am pressing the green button and it goes to the circle with the tophat and just hangs there. It was stuck there last night while I slept, a good 6 hours.
Any other suggestions?
May be something wrong with your hardware buttons - when you press green also being pressed next button, two button pressed simultaneously?

I WAS WONDERING HOW I COULD REINSTALL WINDOWS ON MY DEVICE AS I CANT SWITCH IT ON. IN FACT I CAN SWITCH IT ON BUT WHEN IT TRYIES TO ENTER THE WINDOWS SHOWS A WHITE SCREEN ONLY AND DOESNT START PROPERLY AND THEN A BLACK SCREEN AGAIN.
PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO.
For god sakes, stop typing in capitals.
Hold down the Comm+Voice buttons while pressing the reset button. Then release the reset button. Keep your fingers on the Comm+Voice button until it says "Push send to format"... then press the bottom left button on the front of the device (i.e. the green telephone button). It will say FAT format complete then it will reboot. Wait about 2 minutes for it to repopulate the device's ROM.
There, you have a factory-fresh device.
It's my first time hard-resetting my wizard (random resets are finally getting to me), but I was wondering how on earth am I supposed to do this. I follow all the procedure, and all that appears is a screen filled with the colors red green and blue. I hold for about a minute more after that screen shows up and nothing more appears. I know i'm supposed to see some dialog box that asks if I want to clear it, but I'm just not seeing it.
Hi - this is the way i do it.
Turn device off.
Hold comm button (top left) and record button (top right) together.
Turn device on - keep fingers on two buttons above.
Black screen should come up with some writing (take fingers off buttons above) - press call button (green)
and it will hard reset.
This may work. But that is NOT what the manual says to do. It says to hold the top side left and top side right buttons and use the stylus to push in the reset button on the right side. But I did this and it did nothing.
HTC Wizard, i-mate K-JAM, Cingular 8125:
While holding the Comm manager button and the Voice Command button, push in on the soft reset button (reset hole) once. Keep holding the Comm Manager and Voice Command buttons until there is a screen asking you if you want to clear all data. To commit, press the green send key.
Note: The Cingular 8125 also has a software hard reset option. You can find this application in the Settings folder under "Clear Storage."

I've tried the hardware button method several times (camera button, comm button, and turn on) and I even tried the other method (which did nothing) but when I perform the comm and camera method, all I get is a multi-colored screen that has two strings of numbers on it. So the next question I got to ask is, is a clear storage for the 8125 as effective as the hardware reset?
Some people think it is, some don't - I think it's pretty close give it a shot
Just navigate to clear storage its easier.
Start > Settings > "System" tab > clear storage
It will ask if you really want to, tap yes then it should hard reset.
This is how I hard reset to UPGRADE or RELOAD the ROM from my PC:
I keep the device on... I hold the top left (comm mgr button) and top right (voice command button) then I press the reset button on the right side with my stylus. ONce the device goes to black screen, I release the top left button while still holding the right... wait 3 seconds then release the top right button. At this point you should be to a DOS like screen with a USB label in the lower left. You can then load the ROM from your PC to the device.
Hi all,
So after I rooted my Vibrant, I got a bit careless and ended up erasing a file I should not have. Now my phone "boots" to a screen that shows a flip-phone connected to a PC. In between the two in an orange triangle with an exclamation point.
I have been trying every key combination possible to get this guy into download mode, but to no avail. I have a box coming(so I can get it replaced), but I was wondering if anyone can offer up some help?
I have tried holding the volume down and up keys(individually and at the same time) then pressing power. I have also tried the same process, but pressing the power and the volume key(s) at the same time, but to little end. The screen just goes blank for a second and then returns to that same old image.
Any ideas?
first question... is your sdcard and sim card removed?
this happened to me the first time I used odin.... I removed the battery, took out my sdcard and started the download process again...
with phone powered off:
1) plug in usb
2) press both volume keys with index and middle finger
3) press power with thumb
4) screen powers on, when it goes black, release the power button
Godly my new friend, straight godly.
If you are ever near Santa Cruz drop me a line, I owe you a beer.

OK - updated unlocked (not rooted) Atrix to Gingerbread the day it was released. It has been fine for the most part up until a few days ago, when I have experienced some apps (Pulse, etc...) causing the phone to crash and reboot. Today it has gotten stuck though, and I don't know how to fix it. It boots up fine, and when I unlock the screen, there are about 4 or 5 error popups from different Google services (com.motorola.service.main, com.google.process.gapps, com.android.portal, Data Manager, Bluetooth Share) and then the phone does a quick reboot (the AT&T logo doesn't come up). I unlock the phone, same thing happens. If I just leave it there, it reboots by itself after about 2 minutes. I cannot get to the "settings" to do a factory wipe. If I go into Android Recovery, touching the bottom right of the screen doesn't do anything at the android/triangle/exclamationmark screen. I am completely at a loss. Please help!!
Try these steps....
Power off the phone, press and hold volume down button, press power button.
Screen will come up with "Fastboot", press Vol down key to cycle through choices until you get "Android Recovery", then press Vol up key
Wait for the "triangle ! / Android" screen then go on to step 4
Tap on bottom right corner of the screen (may take a few times). a menu will come up
Tap on "wipe data/factory reset", and tap OK. Another Confirmation screen will come. Tap Yes and OK
After userdata is cleared, the "reboot system now" option will be highlighted by Default. Tap OK.
Phone will reboot to initial setup MOTOBLUR screen.
Thank you for the quick response, but as stated in my earlier post - nothing happens when I touch the bottom right of the screen when in android recovery mode. A menu never comes up at all.
Actually, since you are on Gingerbread, after the little android guy pops up, instead of pressing on the bottom right of the screen (just above the search button), press BOTH volume buttons at the same time...trust me. ;-)
That did it! Got back in now - seems to be working. I should do this after every OS update. Thanks very much!! You have saved a phone from destruction this evening.
Dummy question: where can I find the OK button? I can only see the menu....
AFAIK, if you are running GB then there is no "OK" button, the power button becomes the select button.

Tks,
A few minutes after doing the dummy question I guessed: "the only button missing is the Power button, then that should be the OK". It worked.
I noticed this the other day, but figured it was just a fluke thing......I've now made about 10 calls on my OnePlus 2 and when I'm finished with my call, I don't have a hang-up button! I have to hit the home button, then swipe down and choose "Hang Up" from the little window there. Doing this is a quite a chore because the sensors detect when the phone is by your face and shuts off the screen, so when I try to touch my screen it will shut off the screen. I eventually get it, but it sometimes takes about 30-45 seconds to end my call doing it this way.
Am I missing something? Is one of the softkeys (on the phone) now the hang up button?
u have to press the dialer keys button and it will minimize and reveal the round, red end call button. yes, kind of strange. but u can also set your power button to be an end call button i believe.

Thanks!
But, something weird just happened.... I lost my "clear all recent's" and read if you boot into safe mode, that will fix it..... So I booted into safe mode and it fixed my missing "clear all" X......But it also seemed to have changed the behavior of my dialer??!!?! Now, I have the red hang-up button that shows all the time (like it should).
So it just sounds like it's a little buggy still?
