I know the pricing, but I can't seem to find where I can purchase the WIFI only in the US. Help me please!
It hasn't been announced yet, but I am guess that all of the normal places will have it, best buy amazpn and all that.... it comes out June 8... so end of this month or beginning of next will be when it goes for pre-order

The thicker tab will hit Vodafone (spelling?) in the UK. A '4G' (HSPA+) version will come 'this year'.
It's ALL a little iffy.
I believe that in Europe it will be called the 10.1v ... and the thinner (better¿) one will just be the 10.1... the 10.1v is almost in preorder if I am correct

10.1v is indeed coming to European shops in few days. Seems like Vodafone wanted to be "first and exclusive: and they are the only ones that signed deal with Samsung at MWC. This means that they have to get this 10.1 in and prey to God to sell it which to me seems as an impossible task.
It can not compete with iPad 2, it can not compete with Transformer, it can not compete with Iconia a500. + because it is exclusive to Vodafone it will be pricey...
I am waiting for HSPA+ vet of new 10.1 SD card slot is a must with tablet... an why not others? Tavket has to be as light as possible, Super IPS screen is big +, battery is also very good.
I hope they will be fast.... as the things stand at the moment I am not that convinced that S1 (since it will have Tegra 2 inside???) is a good option but once it is introduced in flesh.... who knows.
I would prefer to buy 10.1 instead of being pulled towards S1 and wait even more

Yea, I'm taking what they said with a grain of salt, but the store manager told it wasn't on his list.

Agreed EXCEPT for the HSPA+. Besides it's thin-ness the main draw of the thin tab was it's price. It has to be competitive in price and on a competitive network for when it gets '4G'. So i'd say $500 for an unlocked LTE version would kill all competition.
And maybe a nice dock?
I am only planning on getting a wifi version .. but I really hope that there is something like the ipad2 cover that apple made... it is nice a sleek... I can live with it not turning off the screen but it makes feel more book-like and I think that that would be a great thing to have

Ditto. I doubt there will be an LTE version. I'm buying the wifi version. And if there isn't a smart cover-like thing I'm going to try to make one. And the book like feel is one of the things I love about my nook. I'm just worried that if Samsung does make a smart cover clone, Apple will say that they're copycats.

Have you read the reviews of this cover? It's quite bad. It leaves greasy marks on the screen and doesn't really protect anything.

Again they would have hit a marketing and selling hot spot - and I do not think ppl. would care that they had it all the time but without an "i" bit.
So...
1. do not worry what Apple will say!
2. You can be sure that if GT 10.1 will sell in volume there will be a lot of companies tying to make a buck on accessories for it (Samsung included).

I hope this ins't a thread jack. I have an extra (maybe 2 by Tuesday) in Denver. I had like 15 orders open at various times and I just happened to get a few docks at the same time. To me, the dock is a necessary part of the experience. I'm thinking about selling my sleeve too. PM me.
Hope I'm not threadjacking either. I also have an extra one coming to me this week that I wasn't able to cancel in time. I'm located in the Northern CA, in the south bay, if anyone in the SJ area is in need of a dock.

Aren't the docks supposed to work with future transformers as well? Why not keep it until the new one is out.

Well, he can still get full retail for the dock (or maybe more due to shortages). Might as well sell what he has now if he isn't going to get a tablet until later this year. That way he's more likely to get a dock with all the bugs worked out. It remains to be seen if firmware updates alone will really solve the myriad of problems the current Transformer dock has.
Also it keeps his options open as to what tablet to get -- lenovo and others have "transformer" style tablets in the works, so why tie himself to ASUS now when they might not be the best option for a tegra3 tablet?
For the numerous of you that have several docks available, if you'd like to get rid of one feel free to PM me a price.

The development of the Xoom isn't that active because the Xoom gets it's updates first, and the source for Honeycomb was never released making Cyanogen-esq projects impossible. Now that ICS's has been released, along with the source, I suspect this will change. But even so, the Xoom doesn't need a huge amount beyond rooting and custom kernels, both of which are active projects.
Regarding the deal your associate wishes to make, it's a damn good one. He's after your decrepit Tab 7 in return for his Xoom, which is a far more capable device. So the only issue is if your cool with going through with a deal which will leave the other party at a disadvantage.

That's an amazing deal...take it. There's great, stable roms for the Xoom Honeycomb OS and Android 4/Ice Cream Sandwich is in active development and is already providing a perfectly suitable daily driver (see my signature). Only camera drivers are missing--need binaries from Motorola.

I'm a galaxy tab owner aswell, and would swap the tab for the xoom anyday.

Xoom is definitely better than a Samsung Galaxy Tab, especially considering the hideous abomination that is Touchwiz. However, I think you could find a better deal. I don't know about where you live but where I am a quick search on craigslist yielded several LNIB Xooms for less than $300.
You should be able to sell your Galaxy Tab, and then take the $250 that you were going to pay ontop of it for the trade and buy a brand new Xoom. and still have some money left over.
If you are in an area where it's not easy to find high end electronics for sale on the private market then yeah by all means go ahead with the trade...maybe try to get him down to $200 cash ontop of your Galaxy Tab.
Good luck...and BTW we have a nearly fully functional AOSP ICS rom available to us, what more could you want from our devs?

I think the reason there are few Honeycomb roms (though the ones available are very good and stable) is because Honeycomb source code was never released. It's at the end stage. But ICS is going strong!

I don't know why Google made the decision to withhold the HC source code. I think they should have released it and let the developers decide on what, if anything, to do with it. At this point, there's no point in working with HC since ICS is out there but still....
I'm not a dev myself. Just stating my thoughts on it.

They decided not to release it, because they knew devs will try to port it to smartphones and it wouldnt work well as its primarily designed for tablets.
Then ICS was to unify them therefore ICS is open source.

I ordered a refurb A500 and discovered the tablet would not hold a charge. Tablet was in great condition otherwise. I actually own 3 A500 (2 16G and 1 32G I got from woot a few days back). The rear camera is pretty good. I took some Christmas pictures and they turned out really good. I also use the GPS (navigation). I think it's a great tablet. You'll be able to do a lot with it, that's for sure. With ICS due sometime in the near future, even better.
Acers store on ebay has a500 refurbs directly from them for $299.99 for a 32GB + 10$ shipping. I pulled the trigger on one 2 days ago. My first tablet so super stoked. Prevously only played around on Smartphones. Htc Hero, Evo (My Rom whore) and now Evo 3D.
Found it on dailysteals ebay page. the white one is already sold out, but the grey one is still available!
just go to ebay daily deal on its home page and you'll see it there!

The prices are down everywhere, you can get it new from multiple third parties at Amazon as well.
They need to make a limited edition all black Galaxy Nexus....would be sexy as hell.
This is one of the few where the white one doesn't look that good. Most likely because the front screen isn't white also......an all black would look sexy as hell

They have almost 240k feedbacks (98.7% positive). If that's your definition of dubious, I guess you won't be buying much online.
