MAJOR CRASH - Unable to restore via ODIN

This morning my phone crashed while I was trying to run gReader. Upon reboot, the phone would just hang at a black screen after the initial SGS Logo.
I decided to recover and put the device into download mode, launched ODIN and tried to flash JP3, JM5 and JG8, all to no avail. At the reboot after ODIN is complete I get the Samsung recovery utilities and then an error message as follows:
Update media please wait ...
E:Can't Mount /dev/blk/mmcblk0p1 (invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media: Can't mount SDCARD:
copy default media content failed
Trying to format the internal SDCARD from Recovery Utils gives the same error
I am stuck! Any ideas?

you got into download mode, that's good
but when flashing you get that error, that's not good
did you use the 1 click lag fix?
never mind i see your siggy you were on Modaco rom... hmm...
try Odin-ing a stock ROM, and see if that fixes your phone?
then Odin back whatever is your custom ROM

You are further through the flash process than I was when I ran into problems, plus have a Vibrant over a European Galaxy S - but I'd still try a 'blank' flash with Odin. Enter download mode, connect up and let Odin run without any files linked in. This got me back into the phone and then allowed for a proper new fw flash thereafter.

No matter what I did I could not get the internal SDCARD recognized. A trip to the Bell store and a DOA swap and now I have a new device.

Any update on how to fix this?

need help in i9000m boot is dead

the phone is dead after flash with odin
and now the boot is dead i tray the jig and download mode cables didn't work
I bought Riff box and I did resurrection but it's hang on 11% and give me this error
ERROR: Failed due to multiple communication errors. Terminating at 0x00000000
now when i connect the phone to usb it ask for driver for
Sec S5pc110 test driver
is anybody faced this problem before and got a solution?

I have never had/read about this particular problem...
Let me clear up some questions:
1- Is there download or recovery mode available?
2- Does the phone charge?

no it was just black screen
but now it can enter download mode after many tries with Riff box
but after flashing with Odin it shows this message :
update media, please wait...
E:Cant mout /dev/block/st110
(invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:cant mount DBDATA:
copy default media conent failed.
and some times shows this :
Update Media please wait

Now when I press power button it shows me I9000 shows the animation and sound then goes black screen

Flash a full rom like jpu

Or try the Darky's resurection rom then flash JL2
After, root the thing and install SpoofFW to set the good product code:

then, plug it in kies and let it update to stock rom.

I had the same error before also. Flashing jpu with odin cleared things right up. Been working like a champ ever since. There is a guide on here somewhere that goes into great detail. Good luck .

try to flash stable JM6 rom (2.1 i think) and than flash rom you want to

I had this before as well.. and I believe I used JL2 to fix it... and then at the time used kies to go to KC1 and then flashed with odin again later..

[Q] Bricked and now in constant boot loop

To start I was coming from a HTC thunderbolt where I was flashing new roms every other day. To make a long story short a continuum fell in my lap so I sold my thunderbolt while I could still make some money on it.
So I decided to flash a rom on my continuum. I used one of the instructions here on xda, and in the middle of using odin my computer crashed. I tried reloading though odin but I get this error:

<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I have tried every .tar file out there, but get the same error message above.
So now my phone is stuck is a bootloop with the following upon booting:
lfs done open fail
--wiping data...
formatting fota...
FOTA WIPE FAILED
Formatting data...
FORMATTING DATA FAILED
Formatting Cache...
FORMATTING CACHE FAILED
Formatting DBDATA...
DB data wipe failed
It does this then reboots to the samsung logo and repeats.
I can get into the downloading menu by holding down the volume and power. But I can not get into recovery, it goes through the same boot loop process when I try.
Any help would be very appreciated as I am without a phone.

Thanks I am on my way there now.

samsung devices are almost impossible to brick if u can get to download mode just get the stock dL17 and .pit files and flash them via odin once u do that youll be back to stock

This is actually a pretty easy fix, haha... I would try to flash just the original recovery with heimdall that is usually the solution for that problem

Followed instruction on flashing my continuum and got as far as flashing the phone using odin with ec07.tar. After I do the 3 finger reboot and I went to select update.zip (holding down softkeys) it told me it couldn't verify the zip file signature. Now when i boot it goes to the recovery utils and they softkeys no longer work to select update.zip. It also says update.zip gone on the bottom under #manual mode# please help I'm a noob.Right now I'm bricked -it just boots to system recovery and I can't select anything =(

Your not bricked.
Flash stock via Odin.
Then reflash recovery.
And use update. Zip
Then flash whatever rom.

Rereading your post on android furums, it's looking like you never got into cwm to begin with. Get a fresh copy of the cwm_adrynalyne_test4.tar, make sure the update.zip is on the root of your sd card, as per the tutorial, and reflash the test4 with odin. Make sure that nothing is checked except pda and autoreboot.

[HELP!] Failed CM flash & now wont mount /system

I am using TWRP, I factory reset fine.
I then lined up 3 zip files to flash. CM10.1, Gapps and Cerberus
The screen turned off while flashing and I panicked. It wouldnt turn on again. I'm thinking it was because of the screen off delay.
I panicked and pushed all of the buttons several times but couldn't get the screen to turn on again.
Now I've turned off the screen off delay and now I'm trying to re install CM but it keeps getting the following
E: Unable to mount ' /system '
I can still access TWRP recovery and Download.
Is there any way to restore the partitions?

I was able to recover the partitions by downloading this following PIT file:

I used it with ODIN, I put my phone in download mode and put pushed the PIT file onto my phone, which fixed the partitions. From there I was able to just install CM10.1 like normal

New phone bricked itself after just 2 weeks

So eh, I've posted here in hopes someone might be kind enough to offer me some help.
I received a brand new J3 (2016) for my birthday not even 2 weeks ago. I intended to root so I activated the dev options and the usb debugging but decided to not proceed with the rest of the process and left it at that. A couple of days later the phone simply refused to turn on, responding only to download mode (vol down, home, power) and nothing else. After pressing all the buttons at the same time I was able to access the other menu (vol up, home, power) only to be greeted with a lot of errors ranging from
E:failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
to
E:failed to mount /cache/recovery/last_kmsg (invalid argument)
(I can provide a full list if it's relevant, just know that they are all related to cache and recovery)
Clearing the cache does nothing, as does the hard reset; the errors persist.
I then decided to reinstall the firmware using odin, but after I press start, it goes into recovery then says failed.
Meanwhile, on the phone this is written:
ODIN MODE
SECURE DOWNOAD: ENABLE
MDM DOWNLOAD BLOCK: 0
PRODUCT NAME: SM-J320H
CURRENT BIN: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FRP LOCK: ON

If this is because I didn't activated "OEM Unlocking" in dev tools, I'm afraid I can't do that now anymore.
Is is salvageable or I might as well throw it out the window?
Please help me, I am at my wits' end.
