So...I have already updated to Mango (after many hacks and some problems courtesy of Microsoft's and LG's lack of communication), but I realized that my country's display language is missing. I found a hack here that involves the reverting of the OS to the previous one (NODO). Unfortunately, I did a format in my PC, so I lost the data for re-installing NODO.
Is there a way to re-install NODO or adding a display language without having to revert to NODO first?

How on earth could you re-install NoDo without first having to revert to NoDo????
1. You must Revert back to the very ROOTS (Factory ROM) (See end of Post for Info)
2. THEN to Pre NoDo/NoDo
3. Once you actually upgrade to NoDo
a. On your device, open the registry editor. (##634# menu)
b. GoTo [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\MUI\Available]
c. Add a new string value for your locale, eg. Key "0413" on Data enter "Nederlands" and press SET , or see below for other languages.
16 Languages supported In Mango:
"0413"="Nederlands"
"0809"="UK English"
"0419"="Русский" (Russian)
"0405"="Čeština" (Czech)
"0816"="Português (Portugal)"
"0C0A"="Español"
"040B"="suomi" (Finnish)
"0409"="US English"
"0804"="中文(简体)" (Simplified Chinese)
"041D"="Svenska"
"040C"="Français"
"040E"="Magyar"
"0414"="Norsk"
"0406"="Dansk"
"0407"="Deutsch"
"0408"="Ελληνικά"
"0416"="Português (Brasil)"
"0410"="Italiano"
"0415"="polski"
"0412"="한국어" (Korean)
"0404"="中文(繁體)" (Traditional Chinese)
"0411"="日本語" (Japanese)
4. After you apply Reg Hack for additional languages, THEN Upgrade to Pre Mango/Mango
(VOILA!)

Ok...I was initially looking for a way to revert back to Nodo without having the Zune backup data... I did it by re-flashing the original firmware following this procedure here:

hi,
Today morning, i tried changing the following registry key .
Once i restarted the mobile, i got the updates notification for 7740 instantly.
MobileOperator: VOD-DE
MOName: Vodafone
OEMDeviceName: Atlantic_VDF_DE
anyhow, there is no Wifi tethering in this update.
What's new in this update?
Notice battery life improvements or anything?
It was said to fix the exchange server problem and some improvements in voicemail.
Not even 24 hrs since i installed the update.
Will keep posted if i see any battery improvements.
7740 supposed to have some improvement for battery according to this:
http://www.winrumors.com/nokia-promises-second-windows-phone-update-for-battery-issues/
Just did the changes as the OP suggested and I triggered the 7740 update. Interestingly, it says there is also "LG Update for Windows Phone", OP did you see this too?
Hoping it is for tethering .... updating now, will report when done.
Just in case anyone needed debranding instructions:
1. Enable the MFG application by going to the dialer and dialing ##634# then pressing call.
2. Launch the MFG application and enter 277634#*# when prompted for a password.
3. Select the Engineer Menu item.
4. Select the Other Setting menu item.
5. Select the Edit registry menu item.
6. Set the input boxes on this menu as follows:
Select ROOT_PATH: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Input SUB_PATH: \System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\
Input KEY: MobileOperator
Data Type: STRING
7. Select Query and write down the result in case you need to re-brand for some reason.
EDIT:
Installation failed after rebooting phone, error code 8018001e, did not update to 7740.....did not do LG update...
EDIT 2:
Tried to update it a couple more times, but always getting the error... OP what kind of Quantum do you have and what carrier ROM? C-900? c-900B? c-900k?
can you tell me the registry changes you did ?
What mobile operator did you put in ?
I finally managed to update.
I think battery might be slightly better but that could be placebo lol
Anyway keeping current is always good anyway
I tried vod de and also vod it. Both showed there was 2 updates, but always failed. Op and scoobysnacks, what model of quantums are you using?
dont do ir his way, use the update cab sender here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415
Much easier
Thanks, the cab sending method worked. I'm still interested in what carrier your phone was originally with

Just a note -- if you truly 'debrand' by changing the MobileOperator to " " (blank), then you don't get the upgrade right away. It seems to be region specific.
Official 7740.16 update notices have been getting sent out over the last week to Bell phones.
No firmware update accompanied this OS update.
Just for reference in case anyone wanted to brand their phone to Bell or ATT:
AT&T
[HKLM\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\]
MobileOperator = ATT-US
MOName = AT&T Wireless
OEMDeviceName = PACIFIC_ATT_US
BELL
[HKLM\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\]
MobileOperator = BEL-CA
MOName = BELL
OEMDeviceName = PACIFIC_BEL_CA
Other keys that can be adjusted and have an impact:
FirmwareRevision
RadioSoftwareRevision
MODeviceName
Hi all,
I have found the following instruction all over the net:
Instructions:
1. First you need to roll back to the Nodo update.
2. Once in Nodo you are free to edit your phone’s registry values. Go to the registry editor.
3. Now, in the “Key” field enter this path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\MUI\Available
4. Then, set the “Name” field to the number of your desired language as provided in the list below.
5. The “value type” should be left as it is, and enter the name of your chosen language in the “Value” field.
6. Lastly, now you can upgrade back to Mango.
The Hack should work with every language as some reported that they have successfully hits Japanese and some other languages in their WP7 devices. So it is not too risky to try right? You can check the language number below, enjoy.

However this instruction does not work on any of my WP7 devices (no matter what version OS i run either). Since all of the instructions i found are underpinned with 'should work with any language' i would like to know if anyone actually has been able to get this thing to work.
In my case i am trying to change the 'display language' to Dutch.
what the latest firmware from samsung for this csc and is it has internet sharing
I have that csc XEUJL3, and I updated till 8773 and I have KK1 (2424.11.11.2) (from flashing the I8700XXJL3-RETAIL-UK ROM), but firmware is not tied to the csc but to a registry key (HKLM\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\MobileOperator)
XEUJL3 comes with a value of 000-GB for that registry key.
So for 000-GB the latest firmware is KI8700XXKI1
But you can change the value to your liking, and then connect to Zune and a new update (OEM, Samsung update, firmware update) will be offered.
For 000-88, it's KK2 (2424.12.2.2)
For SFR-FR, it's KI3 (2424.11.9.3) or LB2???
For FON-ES, it's KK1 (2424.11.11.1)
For 000-FR it's LB2
For Nordic countries (I don't know the code) it's LD1 (the latest) etc.
But all this info is irrelevant, because all those firmware (from KI1 onwards contain the necessary drivers for Internet Sharing). What you need to enable it is some registry edits that can be very easily done by using DiagProvXMLv0.91_IS.xap (attached, credits go to authors Marvin_S & Contable & Snickler), provided that you are Interop Unlocked.
Do that step when you are at 7720. (Try it though to whatever os version you are at, but you must have earlier firmware than KK2)
Deploy DiagProvXMLv0.91_IS.xap to your phone and run it.
Swipe left to the ''iso store'' pivot, tap and hold “Internet Sharing” until the options “Execute” and “Delete” pop up. Choose “Execute” and you will receive a message saying “ProvXML successfully applied!”. Go to Settings and voila Internet Sharing is there.
PS: Judging by the fact you are an advanced user I'm surprised that you didn't know how to enable ICS. So if my advice solves your problem, I expect to press my Thanks button every day for the full month of August.

What version of WP installed on your device? Please sent information about your phone, displayed in Settings -> About
os version: 7.0.7008.0
hardware revision number: 0003
Radio software version: 5.51.09.06_22.30.50.09H
Radio Hardware version: A.26.0.D4
Bootloader version: 1.3.2250.7(111288)
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0
INSTALL WP7 UPDATE TOOLS
1.First make sure you have Zune 4.8 final (build 4.8.2345.0)
2.Download the WP7_update_tool.rar and install the UpdateWP package for your platform (x86 or x64).
3.Download the WP7 Update Cab Sender.zip from xboxmod and extract it. This also contains a patched version of UpdateWP.exe which will work with Zune 4.8 final.
INSTALL THE UPDATES AND LANGUAGES
1.Copy all the CAB files you downloaded to the folder where you extracted xboxmod's WP7 Update Cab Sender. The CAB's should be in the same folder as the BAT-file.
2.Run the batch-file.
3.Your device will reboot and start in download-mode.
4.You'll see progress on the screen of your desktop, but it may take more than 10 minutes before your WP7 device is starting to show a progress-bar, even for small updates. That's normal, because the device is scanning for installed packages and performing merges.
5.When the update is ready, your device will be rebooted again and it will boot Windows Phone with new version and languages.

At FIRST update press "B" in batch-file. It will make backup. All other updates make with pressing "S" (wihout backup)!!!
But this method need a lot of time.
Better and fasteer is to flash custom ROM, but all information will be erased.
i have error in the 4 step what custom rom can i use?

can i install that direct with ROMUpdateUtility.exe?
how to flash that custom rom? do i need to put it in HSPL ?
Hi,
I have a Zuk Edge with grossoshop rom installed. There is a french translation in this rom but it isnt good, and worse it has a lot of bad bugs: screen recording function unfindable, bug when we press the "recently used apps"... Its really a mess.
So i have to get back to english. Not a problem itself if the system is english.
But i would like the play store and all the apps i download to be in french. I saw there is some apps to do this, by changing the "locale region" of my phone:
- MoreLocale2
- Locale & Language
- Change Locale
I'am rooted, so even if im on Android 7, it should be working.
But even if i swtich, the app i download are in english, and if there is not an option to change the language IN the app, i can't do anything.
I think the change which is made is not really made cause i saw that if i restart the "locale region" is automtically reverted to United States.
What can I do ?
Thank you in advance
Jul
up !
News : now that im back to a Stock ROM, a "relocked" bootloader, the situation is a little bit different.
With the app "Locale & Language", after i did an "adb command" the app prompted me to do, it's working. If i put "french", then all the apps are "localized" in france and are in french language.
The ONLY problem remaining is that if the phone reboot, it automatically revert into "English" again. how can i do to make it permanent, even throught a reboot?

With nougat it's never permanent, you have to change the language everytime you restart the phone
I have the same issue on a nokia 6 ta-1000, only english on reboot. Maybe some apps could change the language on reboot. I have Xposed and root installed.
Edit I have found that using a special app to change language and add a second language like English keeps the first language available. So when I reboot I still have French locale on the phone.
