Hey, I've tried installing Magldr a few times now, but whenever I try to go to "Services\BootSettings\AD SD Dir" it just goes back to the Magldr menu.
I've done some searching for the past couple of hours, and the general consensus was to reformat the sdcard because Magldr couldn't read the sdcard, I've tried reformatting multiple times (once via Windows quick format, once via Windows full format, and twice by EASEUS Partition Master) but can't seem to get this to work.
I was coming from CLK, the main reason I wanted to try dual booting two Android ROMs, one via NAND and the other via the SDCARD.

the option you tried is used in order to run sd-card roms, not for nand roms. to flash nand rom by mgldr, you must make the cwm partition as said in op of rom. then in mgldr-ad recovery-install zip from sd-choose zip from sd-find rom in list- flash and reboot.
The way I usually do it is flash the magldr nand ROM via clockworkmod and then copy the the extract the sdcard ROM to the root of the sdcard - and follow the specific instructions for the sdcard ROM.

In this case MAGLDR does not work with your SD Card for SD builds. I have this same problem with my Kingston 16GB class 4, but MAGLDR works fine with the shipped Sandisk 2GB class 2 (i.e. I can run SD builds from this but not the Kingston).
Ah okay, yeah, tried a Sandisk 16gb card and it worked, I had a 8GB Kingston (cls4) card, will look around for a new one as I took the Sandisk from my camera.
I know this was an old question but I'll throw my input in just incase this helps somebody in future..?
If you have been messing around with partition managment software make sure you set the FAT32 partition as Primary and not just logical...
Worked for me
Cheers, Adam.

I have two sd cards. And with the kingstom I have this problem, all partitions are primary.
stay in the magldr,
take the SD card out ,
and insert SD card again,
then try \AD SD Dir again,
you got it

Until the next time or two you reboot then no more boot directory again.
But yes, popping the card out will enable you to try the process - but you'll need another make of card for it to be reliable.

I had just finished installing Myns New Rom and Flashed the combo radios aswell, I ran Titanium Backup and installed my apps. I opened Rom Manager and said I had to flash Clockwork Mod and it updated to 3.O. I then proceeded to make a back up of the rom and then my phone went straight to boot loader, It would not reboot and would not enter recovery just reboots back into boot loader. I finally removed the sd card and rebooted after 10 mins it went back to my rom. I then tried to open my sd card on pc an nothing shows up, I tried 2 others and nothing, cannot even format. I borrowed my friends evo and went to recovery with sdcard in to format it say error can not mount and nothing. I tried within the phone, with cm6 installed and it said the sd card was blank or wrong something, (I forgot) No luck. I think it might have destroyed my sd card, Im trying to find a software that may allow me to do so any luck.
-not visible in pc
-cannot mount or format on phone or recovery mode.
-16gb Micro Sd card Sandisk class 2, bought when touch pro came out for 110 from bestbuy (got 100 back from Htc Touch return so really only 10)
-Had partitoned earlier to run mikifroyo app2sd, unpartioned by formatting.
Please any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Ok when I Insert My SD card it just boots to loading and reboots over and over again. Any ideas?

try looking in the forums for the lastet recovery in .zip format.
Copy it to the root of the sd card. (if you think that you have an issue with the SD card, then take a fresh SD that is formatted to Fat32. Make sure it is not NTFS. If you formatted on the Mac, make sure the partition format is MBR and not GUID, if you don't know how to do this, I can explain further. The easiest way would be to make sure that you do it on a windows machine)
Start your phone, and hopefully it will install the recovery automatically.
After you install the recovery, and get your phone booted into android, you can locate a pre-rooted rom of your choice in the forums here or at the "other" place if you prefer.
You can read more about it in this other section of the forum. The information below is from that forum, in case you can't find it or are too lazy to search.

Flashed some day´s ago WP7 but I reverted to WINMO again... and when I try to put an Android Built on it won´t boot...
I get a cmd lines, kernel something and it get the HTC screen and it get stuck in it... Tryied lot´s of diferent sd builds but the result is the same.
I already formated my sd, tried in other WINMO rom´s and other sd and the result is the same!
I have HSPL 1.66
I have the last radio
I have the same as always and previously the the Android worked fine...
Strange!!!
HELP
Please
You said you formatted your SD card, but did you repartition it? When WP7 is installed it consumes all but 200 MB of your SD card so if you try to reformat it, you will only have 200 MB free unless you repartition it.
Did you say you tried other SD cards? Also, are you running Android from the SD card via Haret from Windows Mobile? Or, are you running a NAND Android ROM?

2- Android SD via Haret.
Thanks
Do you have Android SDK installed, so that you can run logcat and see what's happening?

Nope, don´t know how
Dont think it´s a problem with the Android SD builds, I tryed some diferent and the problem keeps there...
The problem must be with WP7, but now all is the same as before but Android don´t boot and I need Android but don´t want to but NAND on it right away because I like WINMO still...
Please help, I´m not the only one with this problem...
I get a cmd, black screen and some text, the last is...
"jumping to kernel (custom)"
And them it crashes on the green HTC BOOT SCREEN.

Try Task 29 via bootloader, flash stock HTC ROM, Reformat SD card on PC and then again on WinMo. Transfer files while in WinMo on SD card or via SDcard adapter, and try booting Android again.
Did you by any chance transfer files on SD card while in Magldr if so the files may be corrupted (known issue) which may explain the problem with kernel not booting up.
Hope this helps.
Sorry for hijacking but nobody will reply in my thread and I'm becoming impatient lol. Can anybody help me?
Hey guys. I'm currently running this ROM, I've been using it for a few days and have had no problems but today, when I turned the phone off and turned it back on, it took ages to turn back on. Then when it did it all looked them same but was kept freezing etc., then up in the notification bar it said "SD Card Removed Unexpectedly" then my phone went crazy with FC's.
So I took out the battery and restarted the phone. Then, it would turn on and go to the lock screen but then it would reboot and be at a continuius* boot loop of the HTC 'Quietly Brilliant' screen.
So then I took out the battery again, this time I took out the SD card too and booted up and my phone was normal again. Obviously with no phone storage though as there was SD card in. Then after I just skipped the setup I put my SD card back in to my phone and went to the music player and all my saved songs on my SD card played. But no internal storage (I have the SD card partitioned with a 1GB Ext3 partition). Then with the SD card in knowing it still works I rebooted again, only to come back to the HTC screen again.
So basically, how can I fix this?
If I'm going to need to format my SD card is there a way I can backup what's in the Ext3 partition?
Thanks,
L.

lrbpereira - I'm the guy that posted having the same results as you in your other thread (this one seems to be getting all the action, though). Just curious, which ROM are you trying? I've been trying Warrenbread's, but I'm thinking about trying another just to give it a shot.

Hi, i´m on Dutty´s 14 PTG. I tryed Energy and the result was the same...
I think it´s someting that WP7 installed on the phone memory... Don´t know why task29 don´t resolve it... But I can´t put the Android SD working...
And it´s seams that this is a problem that isn´t only mine... you - koz - have it too...

Sorry, I should have been a bit more clear - I was curious what Android ROM you were trying to run from SD. Have you found a solution to this yet? Did you try flashing back to a stock ROM, then HSPL & then try an android rom from SD? I'm considering giving this a shot, but I haven't had the time lately.
EDIT: I resolved my issue by reformatting the SD again (I've done it multiple times & multiple ways). This way worked for me. First, back up everything you want to keep from your SD card onto your PC. Download this & install on your PC: http://download.cnet.com/Partition-...62200.html?part=dl-6285158&subj=dl&tag=button . With SD card in the phone, connect to the PC in USB mass storage mode. Start Partion Wizard and format the card to FAT32 at 32kb and as a primary drive. After that, drag-n-drop your flavor of Android onto your SD and boot it up. Hope it works for you.
EDIT 2: After getting android running, I reinstalled all my files/folders back onto the SD card, however, this broke android again (I couldn't get it to boot from SD). So I tried turning it into airplane mode while running windows mobile - and it worked. I can now boot to android from SD as long as I first turn on airplane mode. So, I don't know if the above reformatting was part of it. If someone gives this a try, it might be good to turn on airplane mode and try to boot before attempting the above formatting info. Please post results if you try it and I'll try to edit the above.
First off let me say Thanks to all the developers and testers for their hard work. It gets a bit frustrating when you have few words to say but are unable to do so because you don't have 10 posts.
I started messing with my HD2 after noticing what a bs windows mobile 6.5 truly was. I was fortunate enough to find the scene the week nand rom flashing became the hot new way to "free" our devices.
Few weeks have passed since, and slowly below the radar, community has moved towards CWM roms. New sick way of customizing to your heart's content. Thanks to everyone involved in development of this sick tool.
Now back to original reason for this post. I am running CWM 1.3 on my Leo 1024 HTC HD2. The last rom I tested was Revolution HD v2.5 CWM. prior to this I have tested about 15 different roms. 100% success rate and no issues.
I am also running class 10 MicroSD 16 GB card from Kingston. After flashing so many times the card got a bit fragmented so I decided to do a format using Panasonic SD formatter v2.0. After the format was done, my card fails to read anything I put on it, from the CWM (when I try to install zip rom it gives me "failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)" and "can't mount /sdcard".
At the same time If I mount USB storage from CWM when connected to my laptop, it comes up as external storage and I have full acess to cards contents.
What the hell did I do?
Sounds to me that you need to format it with an actual program like FDISK under Windows. Often times, programs that can format things for you have problems. Google for instructions on how to format your SD card via the Windows Command Prompt using the FDISK utility.
Thank you ashasaur, I'll give it a try!

Well, It seems problem was ID10T after all. Usually I am really good at paying attention to the details but this time it slipped by me...
It seems there is absolutely no issue with the Panasonic SD Formatter after all. The issue that followed after the attempted format of the MicroSD card was due to the wrong format setup.
I am posting proper instruction on how to format and avoid the NOOB situation I got myself into. This will also work for people that flashed WP7 and decided to go back to Nand, but tought SD card is ruined due to the WP7 protection mechanism.
Note: This will only work if your SD Card is atleast visible to your PC.
KEEP PHONE PLUGGED INTO YOUR PC THROUGHOUT THIS WHOLE PROCESS.
1. Reboot Phone and HOLD VOLUME DOWN KEY to enter BootLoader Screen (multicolor screen)
2. Download and flash MAGLDR 1.13. Reboot Phone
3. When phone is rebooting HOLD POWER BUTTON to enter MAGLDR Screen.
4. Go to OPTION 4. USB MassStg in MAGLDR.
5. Now Download SD Formatter 3.0 and install it.
*If your PC is not recognizing your SD Card go back to MAGLDR Main Menu by pressing the Power Button once and go to OPTION 10. RESET with phone still plugged in, and hold Power Button down while rebooting to get back to MAGLDR screen and select option 4. USB MassStg again. It should recognize it.
6. Open SD Formatter 3 and make sure your SD Card is being shown in the Drive Dropdown Box.
7. You can enter whatever Volume Label you like. Then click the OPTION BOX.
8. Select Format Type - Full Erase, and select Format Size Adjustment - On.
9. Then click Format and your SD Card should be reformatted and ready for use again.
It worked for me and I hope it works for others
*I didn't write these directions and as such I don't take credit for it. Directions were zipped with SDFormater3.0 (user didn't sign it). Thanks, however you are!

I have a problem.
HD2 returned from the service, so i have to install Android. I decided this time NDT Miui, although it does not matter. So I install HSPL4, Radio + Task29 and MagLDR 1.13.
Next - install recovery - well I decided to install the latest 5.0.26 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987531), so I downloaded from this topic (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913) recovery and substituted recovery-raw.img this new. Recovery run
1.Before install rom I wipe data / cache and Dalvik.
2. I wanted to make SD-EXT partitions so I choose partitioning EXT 1024MB and swap 0MB.
3. Unfortunately partitioning process stood(stopped) 10 minutes, so I took out battery, and put and restart phone.
4.I was not sure what happened with card, so I formatted SD in Win7
5.In recovery partitionning this time doing good and it displayed "Done".
==== Problem ====
6.Unfortunately when I doing wipe data I get this message:
App2SD No partition found. Skipping the format of / sd-ext.
Likewise, when you try to mount:
Can not mount / sdcard /
7. Therefore of course it is not possible to install rom, because I get, the message that it can't mount the card.
=========================
==== Attempts solution ====
8 Formatting (quick and full) in Win7, and program - SDFormatter.
9 GParted run from the disc and remove the partition and create EXT3 and FAT32.
10 Inserting the card for Nokia and format it.
11 Finding another card (128MB) but recovery display the same problems.
12 The cards are normally visible in Windows or Nokia.
13 When I put the card and I doing wipe data as in step 6 I get this the message and then after removing card and inserting to reader, Windows calls that you need to format the card, because it can't open SD.
14 In an analogous situation to the point 13, but I doing in recovery sd partitionning, I does not have a problem in Windows (Windows see partition in Fat32, which is reduced by roughly the size set to EXT).
15 Install old recovery 3.0.0.5 - the same problems
As for the 1-3 point I do not know whether it is important. I'm not too sure if the first time when I did wipe data (before this wrong partitioning - a point 2-3) whether it was ok or not - but unfortunately when I did not pay attention and I'm not sure.
Any ideas?
Try re-flashing CWM with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783&highlight=nand+toolkit
and then see if it sees your sd card.
I tried create partition by Mini Tool Partition too - unsuccesfull.
So, I tried return to WM6.5 stock. Copy LEOIMG.nbh to SDCard and I run Bootloader Mode (Vol- + Power) and nothing... It display Serial, but if I plug USB cable, it display USB. So, I install WM6.5 by RUU.exe from htc.com. OK, it installed WM.
In WM, phone can't see (detected) SD Card too? Are You think that I broke SDCard-reader in HD2?
Yep, sounds like a hardware problem at this point, as the likelihood of WM, Android, and CWM all having the same problem at the same time due to software/firmware issues is astronomically slim.
Looks like it's time to start looking for a reliable, decent-priced repair shop. Sorry for your bad luck.
Heh, Just like the ICS release... ;/
I tried with 4 different cards and nothing.
Strange that in a moment and read the card as soon as I changed even two others, this also read them.
Unfortunately, I wanted to copy something already on the card and then HD2 did not read anything again, so probably a hardware issue.
Hi,
I was trying to flash my HD2 when i ran in a bad problem.
Whenever I try to read or write to SD my phone freezes. I tried several SD cards.
It happens when I try to install a ROM from SD, try to partition a card or when I mount it and try to put files on it from my computer.
I also prepared a card at my computer with EXT4/FAT32, trying to install a ROM it freezes.
Can anyone help me?

Ok weird but anyhow you have two things to try either:
Format your sd and try your repartitioning from your pc and start over
Or
Format sd and partition right through the advanced menu in clockwork mod recovery. Personally I always do this but keep in mind that if you require an ext4 partition you must use ext4 recobery as normal cwm is only capable of creating an ext3 partition. Let me know how it goes and if notbwe will take different approach bud. Good luck

Thanks rawdaddymagraden for your reply.
I did so already, I started to use clockwork to prepare my SD card, it did create the FAT32 partition but never created the ext4, at first I was thinking it was busy creating because of the "please wait" notification. After an hour of waiting i suspected the phone hung in process, I tried so wih 2 cards.
Next I prepared the card from my computer, I used MiniTool Partition Wizard for it. I have put the prepared card into my phone and continued my installation. When I mounted the phone and tried to copy my install files it became unmounted after it started copying the file.
Finaly I wiped the card, prepared it and have copied the files from it on my computer. After I did put the card back I started te installation from it, it starts installing but it freezes after a few seconds.
I'm lost.....

Hmmmm..... well have you tried to do a task29 on your phone and then install recovery again and repartition.
Also, what boot loader and recovery are you using?
P.s. you can always press the thanks button as well as saying it
