Hi, aftet two days of reading the xda-forum and unsuccesful try to install NAND version on my HD2, i'm asking this simple question.
My LEO is with stock ROM 3.14, SPL 3.0.3, radio 2.15.xx.xx.
I understood that it can be installed SD Android version, but i preffer faster NAND version.
Is that possible or it will be when HSPL for this SPL is availible?
Thank you!
You need to downgrade your SPL version in order to install HSPL2.08, and to do this you must flash an earlier stock ROM.
Look in the Android WM Development forum for a stock 1.66 ROM for your handset and flash that. You can then flash HSPL2.08 and then finally Magldr and Android.
There's plenty to do, but it's straight forward enough. Just make sure to read up on what you're doing first and it'll be no problem.
Thank you
Thank you for your advice, i'll try it and i'll push hard to do this, i'm former Desire and Galaxy S user, but with my own eyes i see that the Desire is faster then Galaxy, and the HD2 with Android /Nand/ is faster and smoother than both of them.

if you want nand only for speed, then try the ram builds on sd card..(eg: superram by darkstone )they are faster than nand...this way, you dont need to flash anything...no need to downgrade, no need to hspl...........just copy the android folder to your sd and voila..

just to give you some insight, I have the same stock setup as is you, and I'm using darkstone sense v0.1 and its great, fast, stable and everything working very well.. you have to try it, don't forget to use an autoboot application to achieve a reasonable battery life..

I had 3.14 based GTX 2.5 Elegancia ROM, Radio 2.15.50.14 and everything worked just right to get NAND on my HD2.
When you say 1.66ROM I am not sure if you are referring to Radio or ROM version.
Instructions on NAND for newbs thread says:
Radio 2.15.50.14 recommendable!!!
HSPL3 package can be used to downgrade to HSPL 2.08 HSPL (do not choose 2.08.0000 - but 2.08 HSPL ...
Note: Stock HD2 should have 2.10.0000 (stock);
Anyhow, it worked perfect so I think you should be good as long as your HSPL is downgraded to 2.08 version ... FYI - when you download HSPL file is titled HSPL3_package.rar ... this means HSPL version is 3 but you want to run it and set it up on 2.08 and than flash it onto your phone.
hopefully I didn confuse you too much

you probably have tmous hd2 and hence your spl is 2.10...for non-tmous hd2 the new stock 3.14 official rom has a spl3.03, which is not compatible with hspl...that is why john has suggested to roll back to an earlier stock rom (nontmous rom versions are older and different (1.48,1.72,1.66 etc)than tmous stock roms (2.x, 2.1x etc))
Hi
I'm starting a new thread.

ha ha ha...ok...so simple answer....no, you cannot install nand android on 3.14 rom with spl3.03, because you need magldr...(and hspl for magldr).....and hspl is not compatible with 3.03spl. and there is no idea if and when a new hspl will be available..
...so the only option for you if you want nand android, is to flash an older stock rom to downgrade your spl to less than 2.10 (1.42,1.66,2.08,2.10 etc)and only then can you install hspl without problems...and then flash a radio more than 2.08,( preferably 2.15)...then flash magldr, then flash android nand rom........got it??
it is not difficult if you have all those files ready...each flash takes 2 to 10 minutes maximum...so in total, within 30 minutes, you can have android
(you dont need any of these steps if you can use a sd/ram build )
make sure you roll back flash to the stock rom specific for your region.(.important!)
SD card android possible over 3.14 winmo ROM?

Yes you can run Android from SD if you have a 3.14 ROM. It is the radio that is important really when running Android from SD. You will want to check the thread of the build you want to use to see if it is a radio version suggested by the dev of the build. The radio right radio can keep you from having robot voices and some other stuff too. Check below fow instructions on how to install.

All you need to do is download the build of your choice and then unzip the contents of the zip file to a folder named Android. Some builds create a folder named Android and puts all file sin it when you unzip it so check and see if that is the case with the build you are going to use. Once you have the files extracted to the Android folder just copy the Android folder to the root of your SD card. Then use file explorer to navigate to the Android folder and open it. then touch on CLCAD first, this just enables the sound in Android but it will look like it did nothing, this is normal. Next touch on HARET and you will see a box pop up that says booting lenuix with a progress bar in it. Just let the build boot up from there, the first boot may take up to 5 to 10 minutes as it has to create a good bit of files for the Android. Also make sure to boot your Android build this way the first time then you can start using the a dual boot app. And make a backup of your SD card before you first boot Android so you can have a way to know what was on it before you used Android.
You do not have to have HSPL to run Android from SD card. And SPL has nothing to do with running Android from SD card.
Thank u T-Macgnolia and appreciate your reply. I will try this and publish here the result.
It worked.... tqsm

My wife was having trouble with Windows mobile on her HD2 and asked me to flash Android on her phone so it wouldn't constantly crash and what not.
I have:
* HSPL3 ~ SPL-2.08.HSPL
* Radio that support 576 RAM
* DFT MAGLDR Bootloader
* ClockworkMod Recovery
from this guide right here.
And I have installed this ROM via ClockworkMod instead of the ROM mentioned in the first guide because I thought Cyanogenmod 7 would be nicer.
Here is the problem, the phone has been stuck on the "HTC HD2" screen with the Android logo and "MDJ" on the bottom right corner, it has been stuck for over 30 minutes now so I'm going to assume something went wrong, the problem is that I can't figure out what. Does any one have any ideas? was something I did incompatible with anything from the 2 different guides?

I'm sorry...But which part of following the android build developer's instructions do you not get?....Fine, u decided 2 go thru CWR & i commend you for dat but it clearly states in [22 JAN] -=MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 [A2SD+][GRH78C][RMNET][Kernel: MDJ S10.4 OC] thread from which you got the build that you should install thus;
Installation:
You should have at least MAGLDR 1.12 on device.
For installation you need enter MAGLDR (hold power button during boot)
and select "Flasher" via "VolUp" and "VolDown". Confirm key is "green".
(The above instructions means its a DFT build NOT FLASHABLE BY CWR).....
There are 3 videos in the original post detailing HOW to properly flash this rom...Now tell me...why oh why would you go against the original dev's instructions over one posted on a blog site?...
P.S. 4give my ranting but hope i solved your very SIMPLE problem and Yes, Flashing a nand DFT build will remove your CWR installation (which means should u decide 2 flash a CWR based build? u'll have 2 install CWR again.)
You know when I was looking over at all the information again I noticed that too risght after posting this, I guess all the information I just learned made me forget about needing at least MAGLDR 1.12, my bad. I've been looking for guides on how to update to 1.12 or 1.13 I've already downloaded 1.13 but since I can't get into windows anymore I don't know how to update MAGLDR. Can you help me out with that?

For magldr 1.13, boot to bootloader (multi-colured screen) and run the romupdateutility from the download. You will then need to apply the cwm1.3 partition and then boot to AD Recovery to install the rom.
Ok I was able to update to 1.13 through the bootloader, what I don't get is "to apply the cwm1.3 partition" I'm not familiar with the meaning of cwm1.3 since it wasn't mentioned in any of the guides I just read.

It doesn't matter if you have magldr 1.12 or 1.13. What matters is installing daf vs cwm and not daf-cwm.
Based on your first post, you tried installing a daf nand rom via cwm. That is, based on the links you have given. It has been point out also by vocrane on hist post.
I'm sure this is a dumb question but, what is daf?

Daf = daf.exe ie the executable file you click to install a "daf" build as opposed to a zip build which you flash via cwm from your sd card.
PS! you'll find info on cwm 1.3 here
I see, I couldn't find a daf.exe file from the downloads of the ROM I was looking at, does that mean I'll have to find another rom that is flashed via "daf.exe"?
If you need to install the rom via USB Flasher from magldr, it will either have a daf.exe or install.exe file (or should at least). The roms you flash via cwm are in zip format and have afew sub folders which you copy to your sd card (the full unzipped zip file that is) and you then boot into cwm and install the rom from sd card.
I really need to get some sleep, I just found it. I'm flashing it right now.

Here's a quick lowdown...
There r currently 2 main ways u can get android on ur hd2...
Method 1.......Thru sd card (gives u dual-boot options with either WP7 or WinMo 6.5.x
Method 2.......On Nand which installs directly on your device, thereby wiping out WinMo (u've progressed in dis path since u've installed MAGDLR 1.13)....
>>>>>>Method 2 has 2 options;
Option 1......Involves flashing a "DFT Build" via the DAF installer included in the downloaded Build...(D build by Cyanogenmod 7 u pointed out earlier has 2 be installed thru dis method)...
Option 2......Involves flashing a "Zipped Build" via the CWR method...i recommend using builds which have this installation option as they offer more flexibility (full backup & restore)...
Option 1 & Option 2 CANNOT co-exist wit each other...
I just got an HD2 T8585 (radio 2.15.50.14), European version.
It comes with Artemis v62, and I want to install a decent sense Android rom.
The thing is, I don't know how.
I don't know if I have Maglrd(?) installed, or not.
Can anyone help me? I don't want to brick the phone!
If you can also recommend me a rom, I'd be thankful.
thanks
I think the maglrd is only for android and wp7 builds (for now)
if you have Artemis installed then you probably only have HSPL installed. Depending on which HSPL you have, it may not be compatible with MAGLDR (which is required for Android/WP7).
There's a thread called 'how to flash everything' -- look for it to get started.
if u have artemix than u have hspl 3.03 or sspl ...to install magldr or clk u must install hspl 2.08 ...download the toolkit ...and choose a rom from nand section ...u will find in the rom thread the instruction for installation
Before you tell me to read the stickies and google i did both and now i am confused. I am Running Android On nand And i want to run WP 7.5 On Nand
Things that i have on my phone
Its a Tmous Version
Has HSPL 2.08
Has Magle 1.13
Radio Version 2.15.50.14
As to my knowleage the steps that i have to Follow
Boot in Magle and select option 5. Then Run DWI.exe
Folllow the on screen instruction and you are good to go
If i am right just say yes...!! Ill go ahead and flash it
try read this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=954899&d=1332181049
All chefs say that you should flash a WM 6.5 rom first, but I never did
Buy you should make sure that you've enabled 24MB extra memory in Magldr services (don't if that's required for Android NAND) and that go ahead with the usb flasher option...
That's all dude, have fun with WP7
Ok thanks but at first i didnt go to the service options i flashed it directly i got an error at partion 7 then i saw your post and selected it and now its booting...
And its Running Wp 7.5 thanks Guys
Hey, my sister got a HD2 off ebay, and asked me to flash it to android, so i got to the point of installing MAGLDR, and after it successfully flashes, it doesn't boot into it, it just hangs on the HTC boot logo. I used to have a HD2, but it came pre-flashed with android.
I have flashed it with HardSPL too, before you ask.
how long did you wait? sometimes it takes 10+minutes before it boots.
did you try an SD version? it also boots via Magldr.
What steps did you take?
Did you task29 before flashing magldr?
My advice get the hd2 nand toolkit and Task29 before Flashing magldr
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Symptom - Flashed magldr folowed by hanging at splashscreen and not entering magldr menu.
Cause - nearly always caused by forgetting that magldr WILL ONLY start when spl =2.08.hspl -AND- radio is tmous compatible (meaning 2.07.50 or higher, where the .50 is not. 51,,, 2.08.50 will work 2.08.51 wont)
Go flash radio 2.15.50 and whilst you are in bootloader check what the spl line says.
I think i forgot the radio flash, will try it tomorrow.
You have to be careful with the Radio flashing. It is a good way of bricking your phone. I have had the same radio on my HD2 since I got it and never needed to change it. I have ICS running on it now and I am still on the same radio. You may have used the wrong version of HSPL when you flashed that portion. I would make it stock and start from scratch...follow this guide to make it stock and start from the begining.

You only need to worry about flashing an incompatible radio with TMOUS phones, and as far as I know you shouldn't ever need to change the radio of those for Android anyway, so everything should be fine.

We can safely assume he's got an EU phone as not only is he from the UK but he's got a .51 radio (Android isn't booting), and I think that all of the TMOUS phones come stock with a .50 radio (or bricked )
Same Problem
I know...I know I'm about to get a beat-down for not reading the forums properly on xda but, there's soo much information that I don't know where to start! It will be much appreciated if someone can help:
I got a HTC HD2 on T-Mobile (UK) - I have the one that reads 448mb of RAM
It has the latest official ROM since it was downloaded from the HTC site (site link no longer available)
The radio version is 2.15.50.14
I have also installed HSPL (it reads SPL-3.03.HSPL)
Tried to install MAGLDR via the HD2 Android NAND Toolkit
Now my phone wont bootup....just stuck at the loading screen (the pink circle arrow)
What do I do? :-s
You need hspl 2.08 to do install magldr!
clk works with 3.03.

If you know you're going to get flamed for not reading properly, surely the logical thing to do would be to go back and start reading properly? As shanman said, MAGLDR requires HSPL2.08 which you would have realised if you read any one of the numerous guides available (e.g. the one in my sig).
