Hello everybody !
First off, I apologize for my bad english !
I only have a little question : is it possible to install both WinMob6.5 and Android in NAND, or is it required to install Android on SD card ?
I searched all around the board, but I didn't find any satisfying answer (maybe I didn't search very well)
Thanks for reading!
If you want to keep Windows Mobile, and have Android, you'll need to run Android from SD. You can only have one OS on NAND at a time.
Sent from phone
You can not run 2 OS from NAND, so its not possible.
Tanks for your anserws, I will run Android from my SD !
Hi all, I have a smiliar issue regarding WM 6.5 and Android.
I haven't got a clue about flashing the ROM or rooting the phone but my SPL version when I bought the HD2 was already 3.03. I installed Gingerbread 2.3 on the SD Card and it was all running fine but if I power off or reboot my phone it switches back to WM 6.5 which I don't want to happen.
Is there a way to prevent it or have I done something wrong/missed a step?
Thanks for any help.
You can use a WinMo bootloader, like this one. If you are not interested in flashing Windows Phone 7 or NAND Android, it's the best option.
You can prevent switches almost completely (no winmo, but 3 seconds of magldr) by installing magldr, but I don't think that you want it. It doesn't have any sense when you just want to have SD Android.

There are two ways to run android:
- SD card
- flashing android in NAND
if you choose the first option, you have to start android from your SD card.
when you reboot your phone, WM will start. i believe you chose this option.
the second one replaces WM completely! (there are ways to change it back if you dont wanna have this anymore)
if you start your phone, android will boot instead of WM.
there are different ROMs for the 2 options you have. just have a look in the forums:
SD ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=735
NAND ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
just follow this tutorial if you wanna replace WM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
there is a big FAQ thread for this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905841
Good luck, its not that hard.
prexx
Thanks for your help guys. I've watched the video and it seems fairly straight forward to install the NAND Android as I want WM gone completely.
Very much appreciated to a newbie at this sort of thing!

Your English skillz are good dude. Did you try to format your SD card and copying a fresh Android build back over and starting again?
Yes i did, crisisinthecity! But nothing.
the strange thing it's that android loads and when finishes and makes data.img, the phone shutdown it self.
I have seen that in the SD there is a file of windows mobile, a sort of encryption's file, every time i formated my SD and copied on it the android directory when i loaded android at the next reboot (after the shutdown) i saw this file on the root of the SD.
please anyone know this problem?
Thanks.
Nobody can help me?
please.
Do you have a different storage card you could try? Everything works fine in Windows?
yes, i've 2 SD card, one class 4 and class 2. I tried with both, the result it's the same!
yes, on windows everythings works.
when i run clrcad.exe i run it with lights on and then tap to haret.exe! i think it's correct. i flash all my roms after task29, all my roms work correctly on my device and have no problems... I've no more ideas!
It all started when the phone is off with Android.
Now i'm trying to re-flash vbnrom and mdeejay froyo sense 2.4 but i think it isn't a rom's compatibility problem.
Hi guys, I solved my problem to run Android!
It was a stupid problem... now is perfect! I post the solution in case someone else had the same problem.
As you know there are two ways to load wm rom:
the first is via USB, the second is directly load the rom on sd and flash it from your phone without pc.
Both are successful but with a BIG difference (for me)...
If use usb method to load the rom, it created the file data.img but did not run the build of Android.
The wm rom works perfectly but android NO.
I solved it by putting the rom on sd and flash it from the phone.
Thanks to everyone for the help!
Hello guys im thinking to switch to WM7 cause my stock TMobile WM6.5 is makin my battary drain so fast that i lose about 10-15% per hour with nothing working and i think it got bugged and i did couple of hard rests and nothing helped
1)how i change my OS system?
2)will i be able to get back to WM 6.5 after its done?
3)if i hard rest the phone with WM7 what will happen
4)what is the best version is out there? i dont want to get bricked or something is there diffrence between T-mo HD2 getting WM7 then the international?
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971478
2) you can flash WM6.5 at anytime
3) If you hard reset it with WP7, it's the same as WM6.5
4) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180857
what u mean flash? like in the PC i can choose which OS i want like XP or Win7 on start up?
No, if you want WM6.5 you need to flash WM6.5 ROM and you will loose WP7, you can use only one OS.
then what is dual boot? i heard about it in here can i do it? like have WM 6.5 on normal and put WP7 on the SD card or its something else?

The dual boot is for WP7/Android Only.
So you would need to start over any time you "flash" WP7 or WM 6.5. you can still use a live account to sync calendar and contacts on both so you want have to put them in every time.
you will need a live.com account and an activation key for WP7(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921309)
it will only take you a few minutes to go back or forth.
you also have the ability to "dual boot" WM6.5 and Android by installing an SD Android ROM to your SD card. This is usually done by downloading a file and putting the Android folder to the root of your SD card, tapping on Clrcad and then on HaRET (Check the instructions given by the Chef for your chosen build(ACA is good))
Voila you are dual booting and can check your battery.
I suspect you may need a new battery anyway
ok so there is no chance that WP7 would be like this??
and tthe battary is good cause when i put my phone off( disabling all wireless connection) battary drain get back to normal like when i had it new

Nope, i dont think there is enough intrest in it, i personally would love for WP/WM combo but Androids have taken over the forum
there was talking a while back that magldr could get WP and WM booting together but only on 1024MB HD2s, (TMOUS) what we would need is WM running from SD card which then gets loaded in to RAM, intrestingly WM2003se used something similar but i think WM5+ needed non volitile storage.
Hi Guys
I currently own an HTC HD2 Window Mobile phone, and for the past few days I have been trying my hardest to run Android via my SD card but with no luck.
I have watched and read all the videos and changed ROMS, Radios the lot but still having trouble.
I have listed my current set up of my phone (Below) and was wondering if the experts out there could give me a little heads up as to where im going wrong.
I have ran the full Android ROM folder from my SD card as suggested but nothing happens, I have also added the Bootloader file to my Main memory but still nothing!!!!
Im currently using a cool windows ROM which I got from here and all seems to be well, just cant get the android to work??
Im also after a standard simple Anroid ROM which im having trouble locating, does anyone know of a good Android ROM to use, anything would be considered
Details Of Phone
SPL-2.08 HSPL 8G
Radio 2.08.50.05
Manila Version
Thankyou
Frankie
i think you have winmo in your nand and you want to run an sd android build!? now which rom you try? what steps do you take?
Hello there
I bought htc hd2 second hand with windows 6.5 installed on it, but i did not like it so i followed some tutorial here in how to install android. i did that and i never been happier, however i was surprised when i run out of buttery and my device shutdown then recharge it and turn it on there was windows again and i had to do all the process again to lunch android system which drove me crazy because all the app's i already downloaded and installed on SD card were not working any more ...
So i have a few questions hopefully someone can help:
1. Is there any way i can uninstall windows from my HTC HD2 permanently and replace it with Android ?
2. If not How can i help my app's from getting lost?
3. what is the best way to back up my files and data before doing any thing new to my device?
4. since i am new to this system can any one explain to me what is the different between android, mglader and nand ? and what is latest version of Android?
You´ve installed SD Android? If so, you don´t need to install it every time your phone reboots. Just go into your android folder on SD card and run clrcard and than Haret. After that your phone will boot Android. So your data probabaly weren´t erased.
And for fourth question: Android is operating system, just like WM. For HD2 there are two types of Android - for SD and NAND. SD keeps your WM in phone. You don´t do anything to the phone, so you don´t loose warranty. But is little less responsive. This version I reccommend for those, who aren´t sure if they want Android 100%.
Than there is NAND which replace WM on internal memory. It´s more risky ´cause you need to install HSPL and different loader (MAGLDR or cLK) and there is possibility that you will brick your phone. And if sending phone to service in warranty time, you should restore the previous state - install normal SPL and WM instead of android. So it´s up to you which metod you choose
Thank you very much, you do not know how much that was helpful and i think i will go with the risky option but you still haven't answered my 3rd question about back up my data ??

Titanium backup from Android market.
Search the forums for the HD2 toolkit. It makes installing Nand Android quite simple. I think you will find that you get better performance and battery life with the Nand version of android as opposed to the SD version.
Thank you guys
Thank you Guys i never been happier with my HTC HD2 working with NAND Android it's awesome
Thanks Thanks Thanks
Hi
I Have The HTC HD2 And I Installed The AmeriCanAndroid
The Problem is Wan I Reboot it goes back to windows. how can i make Android my Default OS
Thank You
No Help ? please
Thanks
Sounds like you have android installed on SD, meaning it runs on top of winmo,, winmo or magldr must be running to run SD card android.
If you want only android, install a nand version.

You have to install the NAND version... i think you have installed the SD-card version... and therefor everytime you restart it will booot into Windows first.
if you install NAND, it will automaticly restart into android again.
So what you need to do is install a NAND-rom.
good luck!
Yes that's my problem i installed on SD if I Install The NAND-rom The winmo Will Be Deleted And I Will Have One OS I'm I right?
Because the battery seems to be draining fast With 2 OS winmo + Android
Thank You Very Much..!!!

yes you´re right!
you might expect better battery also, since you no longer have do run a whole ROM from the SDcard.. thats a lot of hard work. it will run better on NAND.
yes, winmo will be deleted, and Android will be your new standard OS. (and thats a really good thing.)
good luck!
Thank You 123Me !!!
