Hello folks,
Soon I will purchase an Elocity A7 (after I receive my tax refund).
I was wondering if there will be work on creating dual booting feature for this unit to allow me to create a custom rom based on Gingerbread or Honeycomb whichever is available at the time.
I would like the AOSP Gingerbread or Honeycomb to boot from the sdcard instead of internal storage. That gives me more freedom to update the kernel (via grabbing updates thru WiFi from a local network hosted webserver) with the minor modifications to boost the stability/squash bugs and other things before I can release it to the public for pleasure of using it in everyday use.
----- Edit
Because I can't post yet any links, I'm giving you the forum thread name here that is found on these forums: "[ADV] Boot menu for the Nook Color [2011-02-21]"

OK I got the A7 tablet yesterday and installed the dexter mod 1.3 and I'm having fun with the device. Now I just have to prepare a linux environment to compile the kernel and the modules.
Also have to look in offering dual booting.

Unfortunately I won't be able to compile ICS or JB because my computer is very old and doesn't support 64 bit environment required by the building process be that in Linux or Windows. However I can build the kernel with the 32 bit compilers/tools with no issue, but the ICS or JB doesn't like the 32 bit compilers/tools.
I'm still plagued by OOM freezes and a strange Google Play Services install error that prevents me from installing the latest version of Youtube.
Sorry for letting you down.

I have a rooted NC and dualboot using the guide and resources in Taosaur's excellent "[eMMC][2/22]Dual Boot Guide 2.0: Any Combination[Stock 1.4.1][CM7.1+][CM9]". My question is: Is it possible for me to install the new rc CM7 101 into (and over) the partition currently used by CM9 by using/modifying the instructions in that guide? Or is this available only in a dualboot zip created for this purpose? If so, where can I get it? The expansion of this simple little device's os by these genuises has wonderfully extended its capabilities and I look forward to taking advantage of even more improvements made possibile by these exceptional individuals who so generously share their work with us. Thank you!
Hi guys, I'm new to this i9500 development section as my previous
device was galaxy s1 i9000. The i9000 cm 10 or cm 10 based
roms had 2 different partitions which increased available user
storage.
I understand the i9500 user available space is reduced
significantly due to the way it's partitioned so even if I uninstall
bloatware in the/system partition, the available user space will
hardly be affected since it's in the /data partition.
So I wanted to know if the partition is resized or if it can be
resized in cm11 or sammy based roms so as to increase the user storage
space available.

Yes you can resize the partition. Search the forum on how to do it. My advise is to buy an external microsd card instead. Less hassle, more more more storage.
cheers ~
YES you can for some 3 add Gig
you can, we can, they can and they did it.

but, as suggested in the above (good) reply , i don't do it and I bought and extra 64Gig SD card and live happy....

Sure, I had seen this method but I wanted to know whether there are other methods or roms with different partitions. Anyway, thanks.
Hi guys.
I've searched around the boards and net for days (cause what's worse than a new member that can't use the search function?) and I'm in need of a specific kernel for my 2012 Grouper.
I'm currently running Multirom with Kali Linux Nethunter (written over Cyanogenmod 12.1) in my primary slot, and CM 12.1 in the secondary.
I'm wondering if there is a kernel out there that will fill the following needs:
5.1 Lollipop (CM12.1, Nethunter 3.0)
Kexec-hardboot
USB fast charging/power external devices (TP-Link wifi adapter)
And if possible, All F2FS (I've found nothing for 5.1 compatibility with F2FS)
If I'm stupid and overlooked something obvious, feel free to call me on it. I'm new to Modding, and I've bricked my HTC Evo 4G LTE about 30 times without running to forums to ask for help on piddly and obvious solutions. As to the "needs" on my kernel, yes... I know I want pretty much everything. Hehe.
This forum has been a tremendous help so far, and I look forward to interacting with you all.
ETA: Current kernel version "3.1.10-Bricked-v0.591-g0a2e5f6 [email protected] #2"
Hi everyone ! this is our dedicated thread for Q&A about J3 LO14.1 ROM !
hello there...seems everybody is ignoring this part of the thread and posting in the main...LOL...well i just wanted to ask a friend of mine wanted to merge his storage in his wifes J3 2016 device so i said i would research for him as they are both not android enthusiasts, may i ask is the storage merge working on this build so can i merge the ex sd card memory with internal....thank you
I use this ROMs and merge my sd card as adobtable storage, working fine.
I use Easy Adobtable app from google play to split the sd card into 2 partitions.
10% formated as internal storage, 90% as portable.
Hey!
I really appreciate your hard work to make LineageOS on this device working.
Just wanted to build this rom for my own use as I build ROM's for all my other devices as well.
But I encountered an error when building kernel and so the build process stopped with:
make[3]: arm-eabi-gcc: command not found
I'm really wondering what caused that, because for all other devices, especially my OnePlus One, which has also a armv7-a cpu, build process is running well.
I can post the last lines of the build process (debug output) as well, but it's partial in german language.
Maybe you could start telling me what linux distro you're using for the build?
Thanks in advance.
Custom ROM with UVC full support?
Hi dear devs. You are my only hope it seems.
Is there a version of custom ROM for J320FN that includes all the good stuff for UVC functionality? I would really need such a ROM.
(Secondly, I have an old OMIZ BT Keyboard model #OMIZ6221 that connects and syncs with my J320FN and is seen correctly as "BT-FoldableKB" but doesn't work as a standard HID device. It does nothing.)
But what I really need is the UVC full support to connect an external UVC compliant USB cam. (endoscope or DVR etc).
Thanks so much for your efforts and for what you do.
Happy Christmas and a Happy 2018 !!!
P.S. I have no idea if I clicked on the right button. Please for mercy if it was not the right one.
Can we use the SDCARD as internal memory?
Yes, adobtable storage is working.
You can also split the sd card into 2 partitions using ADB command or partition tool
ie : 20% adobtable, 80 ext
How to post a new Question ?
Hi, does the camera work (take videos)
And do I have to rewrite the stock rom before installing this one or I can keep Remix resurection and replace it with Lineage-os?
sorry for my bad english
Why my wifi not working connection to the network and it says no internet. data works.
Yes my internet is working on other devices.
Hi! Can somebody help me ?
How can I change the phone model in build.prop ?
I want to play a game on phone but it not compatible with the phone. I found a solution, if I change the phone model to a better phone the game will work. I change my phone mode but in the settings is still showing SM-J320FN.
Works on j320M?
i'm about to install this rom in my J320M and i'm trying to avoid all possible errors like bootloop, wifi problems, sim problems and mobile data problems
Simply backup your nandroid device
i do want to know if the flicker and VoLTE can be solved in future versions of the monthly or main unofficial (i don't like viper OS themming style)
i do really wanna know the need of monthly updates, why these exist? it's like security patches or some polishing in the code?, i do really wanna know that because i was updating my J320m every month, and no significant difference for me in a general use
Hi, you are my only hope Is not the ROM CASTOM for the SM-J320H? I searched a lot but did not get any results Can you create a rom for sm-j320h? Thank you
Give me a quick answer
Q: do i have to reflash the rom if there is a update?
do we have any hopes for lineageOS 15.1 or 16?
Hi everybody, yesterday i have been able to install lineage-os14 on my device and everything is ok except the wifi that i can't activate.
In my home i have two ssids and i can't connect noone of them.
The system tries to connect many times and writes always (Password saved) or (Wrong password), the same password, used on my laptop is good.
Is there a guide for the J3 prime 327t1?
