Haven't noticed anyone released a new Honeycomb build/updated some of the old Honeycomb builds for the NookColor in a while. Probably it's the lack of having the source code of Android 3.0. I hope we can have one soon, or at least an ICS build for the NookColor, since Google intends to release ICS source code soon. But if anyone can point out a good Honeycomb build, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Honeycomb is as good as it can get. It is still terrible. It will not improve. Just wait for ICS.

They better do that, atthe moment Transformer is not a whole ecosystem, and the fact that honeycomb will ceasse to exist, indicate any future update, which was officially promised to extend to an 18 month period by google, will make me deduce that Ice Cream is indeed in the future of my beloved device
I don't understand Honeycomb, there was and is much talk that Honeycomb needs more time to mature and have more apps to rival IOS but it seems they switched gears to ICS. It looks like Honeycomb is an aborted baby or some band aid solution until they release ICS in the fall, that would be less than a year for HC.
The app developers have no real incentive to push out apps when a new OS is around the corner and with the new OS it would be even more time for teething issues. I think Android tablets users are getting the short end of the stick.
Honeycomb and ICS are not different OS's. ICS is simply an update to Honeycomb, like how 3.1 was an update from 3.0. It will be the update from 3.2 to 4.0. It is the same thing as how phones got updated from 2.1 to 2.2 to 2.3. Next up for phones is the jump from 2.3 to 4.0, because ICS is the unification of the tablet and phone sides of Android.
If a dev is waiting on ICS to build an app, then they are both wasting time and potential revenue from selling the app, because the app will work perfectly fine on ICS. Google does everything they can to ensure that apps can scale and evolve both through various devices, and OS versions.
TLDR;
ICS is just an update to Honeycomb.
Edit: Also, Google has stated that ICS will be open sourced, and since we have root on our devices, I would say with absolute certainty that we will be able to have ICS roms. I wouldn't worry too much if there is an official update or not because of that. You'll get your Ice Cream and YOU WILL LIKE IT!!
You are true AstroTrain. Honeycomb was hacked together from the phone versions to quickly rush out a tablet pltform. Ice Cream would be a true tablet OS along with a phone OS.
The transformer is a very hackable device. If there isnt an official release there will be a dev release. All of the iconias are locked and some of the 10.1s are locked, which is why the transformer is the best honeycomb tablet on the market rightmost.

Is it possible to port Cm7 to galaxy tab 10.1v? Would be great. ;-)

CM7, MIUI ... all great but without source for honeycomb not really
With the release of the Ice Cream Sandwich source they will get on the tablets for sure!

Moving to General
While it is probably possible to port CM7 to the tab 10.1, someone would need to do the work.
And I doubt anyone would want to port a phone OS to a tablet OS.
CM7 is gingerbread only, which is phone only (those 7 inch tablets running gingerbread don't make very good tablets to me).
I doubt honeycomb source will ever get released and thus not viable for cyanogen mod.
I would not be suprised however that cyanogen will port ice cream sandwich though, for which the source will be available. That might be called CM8 then.
This future CM8 may be ported to the tab 10.1 then...
However, if it ever comes, it will not be this year.
For those devs who would find this useful, the ICS source has just been released.

By no means rushing anything, just curious...what's the expected turnaround for a rom on the A500 based on this?
I am fully aware that this is very new and different to all of us and it will take some time to figure out, just wondering what everyone thinks. Excited
Just an update to say the sync is complete, so cooks can get on their way now. Compiling ICS takes quite a bit of time and power though (5 hours on a quad core with 16gb of RAM!) so it might be a few days at least before we see the first AOSP release for the A500. Maybe sooner if we get a dedicated dev to work on it it might even be faster if someone cooks a ROM on another device (Xoom or Transformer for example) and then makes a port for the A500. Of course, it would be a bit buggier doing it this way. Either way, we'll be seeing ICS pretty soon. We just need to be patient

well, given that they're probably fitting ICS to the Iconia officially towards the middle or end of January, I'd say we'll get custom roms by december..

expect some drivers that could need some tricks, i guess it would be easy to port it
Finally the long anticipated ICS will be presented to the Iconia.

There is already another thread here for ICS
It's official! CyanogenMod 9 is coming to the eeePad Transformer!
CM 9 Progress Update
We’ve been hard at work on CM9 since Google released Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) into the wild last month, and things are slowly starting to come together. Google did a great job with ICS and added some really awesome features which in some cases replace or deprecate functionality that we had in CM7, so we are reevaluating all of our customizations. A number of devices are already up and running with CM9, and the focus is currently on getting as many devices ready as we can. The first devices (besides the Nexus S, which you can already get from Koush’s section on ROM Manager) that we’ll have ready will mostly likely be devices based on OMAP4, MSM8660/7X30, and Exynos. We also have some Tegra2 tablets in the pipeline such as the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Asus Transformer. Our goal is to provide continued support to all CM7 devices back to the QSD8250 series of devices such as the Nexus One. I don’t want to make any promises at this time, but that is the plan. And sorry Droid1 owners, we’re dropping support for you. Time to upgrade
There are a number of challenges that we are up against. Google has made some pretty major changes to the Android framework that break compatibility with older proprietary camera and graphics drivers in order to achieve some pretty insane performance, but I am confident that the team will be able to overcome these issues like we have in the past.
For those of you who like to build CM from source yourself, you probably know that the spin-up time when starting a CM7 build is absurdly long due to the high number of devices in our repository. Koush and Arcee have put together a solution to this problem that adds new devices on-demand to your local repository, saving on both bandwidth and the long startup time. Some other great enhancements are coming too, like a completely overhauled music app, a new file manager, and a new launcher based on stock 4.0.
If you have a Nexus S, you can check out the code and build for yourself today. More devices are on the way, and I’ll send out these status updates as we make more progress

First rule of CM: do not ask for an ETA.
I hope they don't wait until it works on all devices to release this. They are nearly finished it, i would use it now.
see and wait.
Hopefully it takes not to long.

Exactly what I was thinking. I love Prime and the work roach has been doing, but when I can get CM on the tablet, I will go running.
what's the advantage of CM vs Prime rom ?
Its Vanilla ICS. Most stable best battery life and best performance.
You have to try it to actually realize the differance. Which is like day and night

Well, if Roach and Gnufabio can't get any Transformer love after CM9 hits, they should know the Acer A100 forum would hail them as gods...
I did not expect we would get an official, so much as one of our brillant devs would probably do it unofficially lol.

It shouldn't be that shocking, the tablet sold *really* well. Xoom, GTab 10.1, and TF were basically the honeycomb tablets.

Maybe we will see a tablet version of MIUI for us after CM9 hits.

It'll be interesting to see what the difference is. CM is usually better than stock firmware sure so being as lean and cut-back as possible while still adding in extremely useful features.
Asus have done a great job of keeping their firmware bloat-free though, so it may not be too different, performance-wise. The biggest advantage will probably come from extended support. Asus probably won't upgrade the TF101 past 4.0 - having CM pretty much ensures that it will get every version of Android in the future so long as somebody is interested in getting it running.

A lot of the "bloat" Asus has added is incredibly useful. Polaris Office is really nice, and unavailable if Asus didn't include it. Same with Supernote, which is pretty good for free. Splashtop, again, expensive software included for free.
The **** I hate is them bundling things like Netflix... it's freely available on the market, and only available in select regions, why on earth would you bundle that?

Motorola is preparing a project for owners of the “Google Experience Device” version of the WiFi-only Motorola Xoom.
There is an email sent by Motorola, which hints at a major update and asks users to participate in the project.

I really hope it's ics because I heard that ics roms run pretty fast on the Xoom. Honeycomb just isn't a very smooth system considering how much horse power the Xoom has so I'll be happy to get rid of it.

same thing shown here i think http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20967048#post20967048
but yes - ICS update for Xoom would be nice... I can understand the whole Galaxy Nexus getting ICS first - but it could have easily come at the same time as the Nexus S...
