OK i followed the instructions, flashed it, but now it is stuck in a loop at the CM7 welcome screen.
Done, i just forgot to wipe cache / data partition; thanks Genokolar you're the man, Nforce25 thanks.
Is there any chance to have it all in English?

There is english in it. Just change it in settings. If you can't find it - you can change it in /system/build.prop too.
You can also change it via adb:
Code:
[email protected] ~ $ adb shell
# setprop ro.product.locale.region US
# setprop ro.product.locale.language en

I have a U8800-51 (AT&T Impulse 4G) and been trying to get various U8800 ROMs to work. I changed the update-script from "u8800pro" to "u8800" and voila this ROM loads! Now I know the -51 isn't a PRO model, but for whatever reason anything PRO related works on this device. I previously had no luck with any U8800 CWM images and loaded the PRO version (worked).
I'm hoping this helps get a legit U8800-51/Impulse image going.
Anyone know why PRO-related stuff works when hardware is MM7x30-based?

What hardware is working for you on this one?

AT&T Impulse 4G (U8800-51). I took the boot.img from this ROM and put into Oxygen ROM and now it boots just fine. However, it reboots after a couple minutes.

It's because of the rmt_storage binary. Why didn't you try this ROM?

I think there's some confusion...
Your U8800PRO (from this thread) works when I change the update-script to install on "u8800" and not "u8800pro". Very cool.
For grins I tried to take your boot.img (from U8800PRO ROM) and put into Oxygen ROM.

Yeah, U8800Pro also boots oxygen and miui with boot.img from this ROM. But how about hardware of your phone with this ROM? Does 2g/3g work? Does bluetooth work? Does wifi work? Does audio work?

Impulse
According to several sites, including Huawei Product description, your phone has the same specs as the U8800, therefore it cannot be the Pro, check wether you have the impulse or the Pro.
Impulse: 800 MHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM 7230 chipset
U8800Pro:1 GHz processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset

I agree 100% with what you're saying. That's my point. Seriously...no other U8800 ROM works (that I've found). This ROM does. There's something about the AT&T version of the U8800 that prevents them from working. On the back of the phone it says...
Model: U8800-51
H/W: Ver.C
This model seems to have everyone confused as to what it actually is. It also has an FM radio in it (verified and working on std AT&T ROM), whereas the standard U8800 does not. Seems like it is a hybrid.

Oh so the Impulse 4g has a 800MHz processor? I had thought that it was more similar to the pro model.
So here is the breakdown of models from what I understand:
U8800 - MSM7630 800MHz, WCN1312 WIFI chip, 7.6Mbps HSDPA
U8800h - MSM7630 800MHz, WCN1312 WIFI chip, 14.4Mbps HSPA+
U8800-51/Impulse4g - MSM7630 800MHz, BCM4329 WIFI chip, 14.4Mbps HSPA+
U8800+/PRO - MSM8255 1GHz, BCM4329 WIFI, 14.4Mbps HSPA+
With the kernel source for the U8800-51 I don't think it would take much to get the U8800 roms working on it.. since it's the same chipset and everything I would think only wifi/bt/fm code/modules (in the kernel and rom) would need to be changed. There's probably some other changes in the kernel which are preventing the U8800 kernels from working too.

[ROM][BL1.1] VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1 [UPDATED - 4/11]

***ATTENTION IF YOU ARE COMING FROM A 4349+ STOCK ROM or MOD based off that PLEASE VISIT THE FOLLOWING LINK TO DOWNGRADE YOUR BOOTLOADER AND TNT VERSION BEFORE FLASHING CWM AND THIS OR ANY OTHER ROM****

VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1
RC1? What happened to BETA? I skipped it... this was a MAJOR overhaul of code and features (this is one reason it has been a month since the experimentals stopped) and has really reached the stable build point. So what's missing? Nothing except High Definition Video Hardware Decoding... not sure if we will ever get that one working right on Gingerbread. Here are some of the feature additions and changes that have been done since the last Experimental:
* Uses the latest Pershoot kernel as of 04/09 - (install any modules you need using the instruction set at the bottom of this post ***most don't need this additional functionality***)
* Switched over to newer Camera Rotation Fix
* Added Tablet Friendly Launcher VTL.Launcher to the launcher options
* Screenshots/DDMS fixed via several commits to Nvidia GIT etc.
* Added in the External Storage Format and Unmount
* Pulled in the Tablet Tweaks
* Modified Tablet Tweaks to not Break our Device or Google API's
* Fixed up the Fullscreen handling issue
* Edited Statusbar buttons to fit with VEGAn-TAB Styling
* Newer Boot Animation - lowered quality to improve boot performance and speed
* Fixed layout of Launcher and added settings to settings page if default
* Added basic Google Apps to avoid confusion
* Added Tablet version of Quick Office
* Added Basic Tablet Keyboard Layout for English version of Gingerbread Keyboard
* Changed Default Browser User Agent to Desktop
* Added code to remove Phone Settings without losing market functionality
* Lot's of code cleanups and minor bug fixes
The Google apps has already been applied. Market WILL NOT SHOW in app drawer until you CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK. ONLY THE APPS THAT YOU CAN'T GET FROM THE MARKET ARE INSTALLED. Stuff like GMAIL, MAPS, etc. need installed through market. This way you will easily stay up to date on those apps. MY APPS in the market WORKS if it doesn't for you then you have restored something you shouldn't data or app wise or not followed the directions correctly.
Also installed is the QuickOfficeHD (pulled from adam).
SINCE THIS IS A MAJOR RELEASE VERSION - NO MATTER THE ROM YOU ARE COMING FROM YOU MUST WIPE DATA! - Use Titanium Backup or similar to save app data. HOWEVER do NOT restore any system app data.... ie. Wireless Settings, CMParts Setting, etc.
After the first boot, and all the setup screens, PROMPTLYreboot the tablet to finish installation.
Install this using CWM 0.8 only at the moment. Till we can figure out why some tablets have issues with newer CWM versions.
****The Latest Flash player from the market now works. Latest google maps now works download from the market.****
Internal Memory is mapped to SDCard and external SD Card is mapped to SDCard2.

I am going to work on a more specialized installation instructions set soon I think. Installation is just like the experimentals through CWM wipe data/cache/dalvik... no exceptions. It could take up to 5 minutes to boot the first time as it is building the dalvik database and cache. Remember to reboot after first boot and setup screens to finish installation. ---- If you have issues booting the first time (ie. boot loops) and you have never run any other gingerbread build before then you probably need to NVFLASH to stock before you can run any GingerBread builds as there is a partition issue from factory on your device.... NVFLASH to stock will repartition everything for you.
Bug Reports can be done here in the forum for now... though I am working on http://vegantab.gojimi.com/bugtracker but we are having some issues with new user signups at the moment.

Can't wait to get off work to install
Thanks Gojimi.
Does this support location via wifi?>
Will the android market web page recognize this like it does VeganTab 5.1.1? That has been wonderful for getting some things to install that the market just wouldn't pick up through a search on the tab for something reason (like Samurai 2).

Curious what kernel this is built on also. Any plans for hardware video acceleration? Sorry had to ask.
Between this and CM7 stable release for harmony there is so much to try.

You are lucky that you can run your phone, I can't pass pin confirmation process because of (com.android.phone) crash It's obvious that we need fix.
P. S. I have talked with one of the developers, they don't have their 8800 Pro's anymore so they can't check their new builds for bugs. Geno don't have much time for this, hope that it will be fixed in near future It's sad that the best developers don't have anymore that phones for witch been working, logical that they are not interested in this device like before.
hi all,
these are 5 easy steps how i got it working on my phone:
before you start backup all your data (phonebook etc) because this is a clean install and everything will be wiped!
1) go to recovery menu. do a factory reset/data wipe. goto mounts & storage and format system. wipe dalvik cache (i don't know if this is necesary).
2) install the update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-u8800pro-Geno-120202.zip from sd card. restart phone.
3) install root explorer or similar. replace phone.apk with older version (i replaced with phone.apk from 20120107-cm-7.1.0-u8800pro-Geno-en.zip). you will get an FC. reboot your phone.
4) change permissions in root explorer for the phone.apk like this: owner->read/write, group->read, other->read.
5) reboot phone and enjoy
btw thanks geno!
i think you can replace the phone.apk with older version in the update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-u8800pro-Geno-120202.zip before flashing. it is much easier.
the fixed Phone.apk(you need this one better than old version)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gen...C0-u8800pro-Geno-120202-en-fixed.zip/download
my first custom ROM. it looks great!
only a very little bug that I noticed: here in Italy we don't have any 4G network (only HSDPA 3,5G), but the icon in notification area tells "4G".
Really not a real bug, anyway

is the phone.apk in the fixed version any different than the older version?
New version with fix works ok with no bugs till now Little notice that I didn't find market application on this rom so I had to install it manually.
OK
Yeah i came from last november cyano rom and it's all perfectly functional! Only one thing, yesterday accelerometer didn't work, and photocamera too, but a simple restart and now all good!
Good work!
P.S. I have installed two times this rom because first one any opening keyboard throw an exception.
Althoguh it is written that fm doesn't work, could you try to install spirit fm app and see what happen?
Thx!

Dr. Doofenshmirtz, I'll try.
Hello
I can try, but I can tell you how it goes just over the weekend.
Android says that it is A500, but there are options for mobile connections, pretty weird.
Another thing, data connections - there are no apn's, so I decided to enter it manually, but after saving settings list is still empty. After reboot - same thing.
Then .......... I recovered another A501 (thanks to a friend of mine) and I have installed your rom.
The 3g works perfectly.
The GPS no, that's why I wrote in private (PM)
I would say GREAT JOB

Did you install gapps?
Yes, I did. Twice. Once with mine old 20130301 gapps I downloaded month ago, and then this one (apparently the same).
And.. I can remove and insert sim card without any notification on screen.
Hi,
For me 3G is not working it cant even find any network. And for me also home button does nothing and cant open web browser ;p
EDIT:
After few reboots home and browser started to work bus still no network or 3g.
In Attached log I've went into airplane mode that turned it off and started GPS status.

OK, so basically you did a dirty flash on top of a stock ROM. Try doing all wipes them flash the ROM. Currently, the settings don't show a radio baseband, and errors when detecting network.
My internet is down, so will post dmesg when its back up.
For you others, please attach a dmesg
Adb dmesg > 3gdemesg.txt
Try to do it after boot.
Moscow Sorry, I badly explained
Yes I installed the stock rom, but obviously doing all wipe .... then everything clean
Tell me more about how this gets ADB dmesg> 3gdemesg.txt
?

Ok, with the new JB, you will need some new Google adb files for your PC, otherwise you cannot run the adb commands due to Google's new security. You can get a small package here for Windows PC. Just put them in a folder on your PC. (also, seems like the old command may not work with the new adb)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144709
Or,
You can do this through the Terminal App on the tablet.
1. Start Terminal Emulator
2. Type su (you should get some type of $ sign then)
3. Then type dmesg >/mnt/sdcard/dmesg.txt (or what ever you want to name it)
This creates it on your internal SD, then use a file explorer to copy it out.
Usually, I can't see the txt file when I move it to Ext SD, so I pull my card and get it from PC.
MD
Kernel Dmesg attached.
EDIT: Also, that USB Issue I told you about, seems to not be in this build. Considering 3g shares USB, I didn't get a reboot with flash sticks, so a step in the right direction.
When going to Settings/More/Mobile Networks, when selecting Access Point Names, Settings closes out back to the default Settings Page.
Logcat attached.
Looks like according to the logcat, it shells out because it can't find the radio. Also saw some info immediately above like LTE CDMA stuff. This makes sense as in the Settings About Phone, it doesn't have the radio baseband listed.
On a lesser priority, copying a file from my 1tb NTFS to the internal memory works great.
However, you cannot write back to the drive. VOLD?

Thanks,
Also, paste your build.prop here if you can. You can find it in /system. We're quite puzzled why your 3g is working and nobody else's is.
When you go to settings/more/mobile networks/access point names does it have your provider listed?

Thanks, so that explains the 3g.
You have the TegraOwners build.prop. which probably means there were left-over files from the rom you were running before. I kind of suspected this.
So basically, what you have now, is a mix of the 2 roms.
Remember, before flashing any new rom
1. In CWM Wipe menu
a. Data/factory reset
b. Wipe cache
c. Wipe Dalvak Cache
2. In Mounts and Storage
a. Format System
b. Format Flexrom
Then install rom. I'll bet if you do that, you won't have 3g afterwards.
Thanks for the help though, as it clears things up, and randomblame can focus on the issues.
MD
I'm sorry to contradict you but I can guarantee that I have done all the steps you have listed perhaps exception of flexrom (can not remember, more no than yes).
With Rom TegraOwners for me 3g never worked, that's why I did not use for a long time (see signature in the latest version that I used some time ago) ...
But I knew the secret.
After trying the 3g working, I tried the GPS did not work and then I installed the fix found on TegraOwners (http://forum.tegraowners.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1046&start=2220 # p33410) here who has rewrote the build.prop

H Basel,
I have a s7562 duos which is currently my dev phone, I am currently working on the fbcon driver where I've faced some issues while trying to get this driver to work on this gadget. Kernel compilation is a major success but, the gadget displays stuff normally only now it appears some invisible text(console output) is pushing the entire frame up and down through the display, I think the problem lies within Cmdline params. At first I noticed the cmdline params specified through kitchen weren't getting through but were being overidden by the bootloaders default CMDLINE params, I had to force the params through kernel config ,but after doing so it wouldn't go beyond the bootlogo.
Although I haven't tested fully with cmdline forced options.
More DEV details later(Sorry am on phone right now)
I need this to be able to port roms on this device (my main target is Ubuntu for phones), I have Riffbox and once bricked the device coz the usb doesn't work n I didn'k know the partion layout.
Any help will be greatly appreaciated.

Hi! Quick question: The only thing I can't find on P1, is what devices/ROMs it will work on/in.
I have the following:
Samsung Galaxy (SGH-M819N) Mega
Samsung OEM KitKat 4.4.4 ROM, Rooted
Carrier = MetroPCS (Owned by T-Mobile)
I would really love to be able to have more control over my phone, but don't want to go with an entire Custom ROM, ya know?
I know I read "Samsung" somewhere further up, but it didn't say which ones, etc.. But I recognize your handle and I know you're a good programmer, so I thought it'd be worth asking, ya know?
Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 FRAMEBUFFER CONSOLE VIDEO
Here is a video of what happens when the bootloader overides the kernel cmdline.
http://youtu.be/gOmb1z2fuEo
Finally, i think am getting somewhere after successfully forcing cmdline options.
I know get a flash with the penguin logo then the phone displays gurbled up text.
Maybe the serial port speed ?.
I‘ll post a video later.

Hello guys this is my first time posting here on the OnePlus 3T forum and this guide is for those who want the latest builds (4.x.x) but not quit the battery drain that comes with them
1- A Rooted Oneplus 3/3T on Stock or Freedom Os with TWRP recovery
2- Franco Kernel R10
3- Governor Tuner / Download link for Version 3.9 / Link of the description of this Mod
4- Busybox
1- Flash Franco kernel & Busybox or use Apps From the Play Store Franco Updater + Busybox on Rails reboot and make sure your rom now supports init.d if not flash this
2- Boot a second time to recovery and Flash GovTuner_3.9.zip i recommand wiping ART/ cache
3- Now go to Terminal Emulator and type:
Command lignes
su
govtuner
4-Select number "1" and hit Enter to apply battery profil then wait 3 seconds
5- Now Select "p" and hit enter then "y" to apply the mod
NOTE : Make sure that it shows ini.d : Active and not init.d: deactivate if not you will have to use Universal ini.d otherwise the mod can't be applied on boot and you will have to reapply it manually.
Also you need to give it 3 battery circles before actually getting passed 7 hours of SOT on heavy use
Good luck Hit thanks
Reserved
This is just stupid, why are people making these guides.
If you can't get 7 hours sot without any of this stuff, then youre doing something wrong, the 3T has perfectly capable battery.
I installed universal init.d but after selecting a profile, terminal emulator brings me back to the same screen. theres no options for "p" or "y" to activate. Just "1" to select.

I recommend flashing governor tuner 3.9 for power efficiency mod if u downloaded a previews release update it
Universal ini.d is for those who encounter bugs causing the profil to not be applied on boot so if u have in the last ligne
Init.d: active
Then you have full support and you don't need the app

Thanks for the quick reply. Updating gov tuner to 3.9 now (had 3.8). It said Init.d was NOT active so I needed the app.

Man i had so many problems and battery drain coming from the kernel and CPU i couldn't get more then 4 hours i even calculated the real power used from the os and it wasn't getting above 2700 mAh so technically i had a drain of almost 500 mAh wish the system could not explain now im getting much more juice and the phone is much cooler

Hey, just (re)installed after updating to 4.0.3 but it keeps saying init.d is not available.
Tried flashing the init.d enabler, but that says init.d is available already.
And, anyway, I can confirm init.d is working just fine.
Any clue?
EDIT: D'oh! Just realized I didn't reboot after flasking Kernel!
Thanks!
