XXKI4 Discussion - Galaxy S II General

Ok flash freaks, it's now available:
Firmware: http://www.multiupload.com/SKUPDRAOKL
Stock Kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/2FF735VQD5
Password: [email protected]
Frankenstein XEUKH2 version: http://www.multiupload.com/NAPKDLWC5B
Been using it a few days now and it's worth while updating from XXKI3.

Can I ask what differences you have noticed yourself?
Stability/speed differences? Features?
Thanks in advance
eta:
im at work so cant download and test...

It's a test ROM, also available through KIES (in test mode).
Thanks Intratech!

It's going to be released officially in the coming days.

Intra, which CSC have you used in the XEU package. (as in KD1, KI3 etc)

Is this a newer version than ki8 or is it between ki3 and ki8?

Ok, I'm confused.
A new ROM with the same code as an old one?
Is it 2.3.5 or .4?
Shouldn't we be getting KJ ROMs, since we are pass mid October?

I just want to confirm the Frankenstein version is non wipe as before? Also, does it have the old bootloader? Thanks.

you are wrong the other KI4 was XWKI4 2.3.4
this one is XXKI4 2.3.5

To answer my own (and another) question:
The XEU package includes the KH2 CSC file
Yes, the XEU package is non-wipe, as it's a 1 file flash in Odin (that's the quick way to tell if it's wipe or not)

Ok, fair enough... XX instead of XW. I still think is quite a confusing use of the coding, specially the way we use it here (where usually we pretty much ignore the zone code) but ok.

What's the modem version bundled with this and how's it faring?

Good to see it contains the old bootloader meaning I could wipe any evidence of my flashing habit

i9100 XWKFI, BUKE5, and DUKE6 Firmwares Now Online

SamFirmware just tweeted:
FIRMWARES: Samsung I9100XWKFI, I9100BUKE5, I9100TDUKE6 Online! (Android 2.3.3)
http://twitter.com/#!/SamFirmware
Looks like KF1 is still 2.3.3 and not the 2.3.4 update we have been waiting for
Hopefully our update will come soon and sort out all of the battery drain issues.
Hope this helps.
Something IS happening finally ;-) samsung makes imho the best phones but when it comes to firmware they kinda like to hesitate...still thumbs up. Hopefully they fixed the gps issues for germany.
Cheers

Didn't have these issues, I've never had to restart the phone, except yesterday, when i set my device-font to the original one, because the font had a border, after a restart it hadn't the border anymore .
Btw: I thought the navigation is using the gyroscope for tunnels, to get the position without gps, but with the google navigation it isn't working... didn't test it on offline navigations, did anyone?

When people start flashing their phones I am sure one of them will answer your question.
Can I use odin to flash this over the top of stock KE7 XEU?
Will this new firmware change my CSC code?
Thanks.
Is this later than KF4 and will it wipe the phone data?
Today was my first proper day using KF4 and I've watched videos; listened to music, done texts and emails and got info through H on various apps and after 11.5 hrs I'm still on 51% which is the best so far so I'm interested to see if KF3 makes a difference.
Date-wise, KF2 is actually a newer release than KF4, and people are reporting fantastic battery life with KF2.
Kf3 is the europe version im pretty sure samfirmware commented in a thread earlyier saying so

Not necessary, keep it MD5., it is an acceptable file type for Odin
I noticed on this build. In the menu where you hold down the power button the option to turn data on/off is missing. You can still power off, reset, airplane mode. The data option is missing. I kind of miss it. I found an app that does it with the pressing of an icon, but its just one more icon to clutter up the desktop.

From the lettering scheme (LD3) this looks to be the first release version of ICS pushed by Samsung.
Every other ICS build todate has been an LPx where the P denotes a prerelease. LD3 is a proper build from April 2012.
