Firmware: I9100BOKJ2_I9100TNLKJ2 Online! (Android 2.3.5) - Galaxy S II General

Samsung I9100 Firmware: I9100BOKJ2_I9100TNLKJ2 Online! (Android 2.3.5)
Changes?
i think its for T-Mobile

i`d also like to get some reports prior to flashing.
here is the link to the firmware, brought to us by samfirmware
http://www.sammobile.com/threads/23-Samsung-I9100-Galaxy-S-II-Firmwares

Im using this currently, its T-Mobile Netherlands firmware with build date: October 7th

any thing noticeable new?
improvements, bugs, new features?
btw: Samfirmware said (via twitter) that it is for the european/international i9100

I'll wait for Intratech + non wipe.

Nope i dont notice any differences other then the weather widget, its bigger then in the XWKI8 firmware.

T-Mobile firmware are in the carrier firmware thread. You're better off using the XXKI4 firmware. It's a hell of a lot better.

[Q] UK Galaxy TAB Update route

Got a Galaxy Tab from Tesco's in the UK, with the following details:-
PDA = P1000XWJJ3
Phone = P1000XXJID
CSC = XEUJJ3
Kernel 2.6.32.9
froyo.XWJJ3
Have seen a lot of discussions on flashing the latest EURO rom and seen on samsungfirmware the latest being P1000XXJMD ## ODIN 1.7.
Also seen a few people mention flashing up to JM6, then JMA, then JMC. but they all seem to refer to ATT and T-Mobile versions which I assume is USA.
Also Samsung Kies says i am already on the latest firmware.
Default browser is extremely slow, and would like the latest firmware to see if it solves this. Or should I just wait for gingerbread 2.3.
Any advice please, and/or links to how to do it.
(do I need to do anything to PIT or the CSC ???)
Same browser and kies issue here - tesco tab as well
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
My Tab stocked with JJ3 is now updated to JJ7 through Kies. The only different with yours is the CSC while mine is P1000CPWxxx. I wonder if the CPW stands for CarPhoneWarehouse, the famous reseller in EURO.

A short term fix for your browser problem is to install Dolphin HD.
Using Dolphin you will notice no lag when scrolling, pages open much quicker and tab browsing (the use of tabs, not The Galaxy Tab) is so much easier and configurable.
I know as I have the same model as you and had the same issue with the browser.
Was wondering how you upgraded and to what version. Any details or instructions

I have a tab that i bought that is blocked to an operator, in this case its TMN PT, i tryed to update with samsing kies, but it says that there's no new updates....i have the notification and browser scroll issues....
Also curious, currently running stock on UK unbranded Tab bought from Currys. I use Dolphin on my Desire but don't like it on the Tab and find Xscope the best.
Everything is running fine for me though my battery runs down fairly quick. I might upgrade firmware if it's worthwhile but since it's running ok I am more inclined to wait for a good custom FW with some nice mods...?

Swap FW for official one [BRAZIL]

So i've got an Galaxy SII here in Brazil, it's from Claro and strangely has the HKE2 BASEBAND, HKE4 Kernel.
I read somewhere that 2.3.4 was already avaliable if you had Sammy's retail FW, not Claro's modded crap.
By the time i got home to download it all the post had been removed so i missed the opportunity.
If anyone could point me in the right direction i'd be damn happy!
As far as my knowledge goes i remember reading that swapping from this "custom" to the official would not violate EULA nor my warranty, and that i'd be able to do it without having to root the phone.
Go to the development section, there is a thread by, Intarech (spelling may be wrong) that thread contains what you are looking for.

TY for the directions.
And a bonus here, i just found out i have a franken-phone.
Checking the Carrier-specific firmwares i bumped into some trouble lol.
My phone is from Brazilian's Claro BUT build is technically a Chillean version.
Check this out:
PDA: UHKE4 is Chile-based
PHONE: UHKE2, well, ok.
Now here's the interesting bit, the CSC is ZTAKE2 wich is NOT LISTED ANYWHERE!
Will i have trouble if i flash this one below?

I was using it, found no issues at all.
You can also try flashing UHKG7 from http://www.samfirmware.com to get Android 2.3.4
(Even more strange is that the page says it's from Brazil, but SamFIT says it's from Chile too.)
EDIT:
This is the same FW from samfirmware

Any special difference from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4?
'Cause i'm looking forward at 2.3.6 already
I've found some minor UI tweaks so far, nothing major.
About 2.3.6 I think it will take a while to arrive at stock roms, maybe sooner with CM7 or MIUI only.
Updated successfully!
No issues whatsoever!
tyvm dandroid13!
So...
No problems whatsoever with 2.3.4?
No 3g data on/off problems on UHKG4 modem? I read that some guys were having some issues on getting 3g data back on after losing signal for whatever reason.
Can you confirm that everything works fine?
I just got an SGS II from Claro and I´m thinking of flashing it with this ROM to get rid of all that Claro crap (and get some original stuff back, like GTalk).
Can you hint me with the specific thread on how to flash SGS II with this ROM?
Thanks a lot.

So, the UHKE4 rom i flashed as avaliable from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 (manual included there) is a 2.3.3.
Again, mine was bought THE DAY AFTER it was released here in Brazil, in late June so it has the hw version from Chile.
Aside from that it's all fine and dandy!
The major difference from the 2.3.4 FW is that you don't get Folha and Livraria Cultura apps.

Latest firmware on Kies

I've been away from the forum for a while and was hoping someone could tell me what the latest firmware is on Kies for UK phones. Don't feel like flashing my phone backwards just to find out.

Lie! There's no Brazil update.
Had to flash using Odin, which I recommend.
I've been waiting for 2.3.4 XEU to be available on Kies so I can update to official firmware. But I was just thinking...why do I care if its XEU or not? I can flash an official update from another region and still switch the language to english. I am in USA on AT&T anyway so its not like even XEU matches my country.
Am I missing something here? Is there a reason it matters to be on XEU for Americans?
It can depend if your phone is branded as the carriers can block Kies updates! There are serious problems with builds before KF3 (eg wifi sharing bug) so it worth flashing to that version if your carrier is blocking Kies updates. I updated about two months ago via Kies to build KF3 (2.3.3). I am in the UK unbranded O2/car phone warehouse. I am waiting for this latest new update to arrive on my s2 via Kies.
I am unlocked/unbranded. I think I'm going to just flash another official 2.3.4 firmware from Intratech's thread and then when a UK version comes out, I'll just flash that. I'm being patient for no reason Now I just have to figure out which region's firmware to flash....

Yep, KI4 includes english (US) I guess, so it shouldn't bother you.
I have to stick to UHKG7 because european roms don't include brazilian portuguese...

Why not use Odin, mate? Then you can have the latest fw version.
question: I wanted to check out if the new firmware is available in my country, so i just restored (from cwm) my original firmware (cf-root kernel), reflashed a original kf3 kernel.
But Kies message is "You cannot update this device type".
Did i forgot to restore something original? besides the "root" everything else (rom + kernel) is original.
Well np i go back to miui i dont rly care atm, but in future if icecream is released, i prolly want to try it and having a working kies makes it faster.
Any suggestion?

Seriously, man. Ice Cream will be melted loooong before it shows up on KIES. If/when it shows up and you want it sooner, you'll more than likely need to flash it via Odin. KIES is limited by carrier releases. My SII wouldn't update via KIES either. Odin is the standard around here for a reason. It's safer, and it allows you to try what YOU want when YOU want it. Not when your carrier and/or Samsung releases it.

2.3.5 upgrade

So Kies told me that there was an upgrade from KE7 to KI4 today, I downloaded and installed it, and so far Im pretty impressed. The software version has changed to XWKI8 and the Android version has been upgraded from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5...
I used to get Quadrant scores around 3050 that went up to 3400-3500 after the update.
I havent tested it long enough to notice any changes in batterylife, but I was wondering if anyone has a changelog for this upgrade.
Also: What other changes has anyone noticed with this .2.3.5/KI8 upgrade?

Build date has nothing to do with publishing date. They mostly publish roms a month or two after the date of build. Check this on earlier published builds and you'll see.
SamMobile has a Live feed showing the newest firmware downloading on their database, and it showed up on 21/2, thrust me i've seen it (great coincidence as i hardly look there) since then i've never seen this update on this site again.
It's rootable using towelroot if you downgrade the kernel (4.4.2), i've done it.
Had a problem with screen mirroring to a Sony Bravia TV (didn't had with older PT firmware).
Ok, thanks. So first i must flash new firmware, NF2 kernel and use towelroot. Next flash again P605XXUDOB1 kernel. Where i get the kernel P605XXUDOB1?
