Blame crapple its because of the gallery change

but probably ony for Dutch market - i do not know if that regional court rulling is affecting EU / World
i think next firmware leak might have normal bounce effect or the blue_overscroll only in gallery
might be that this particular branch was compiled to shor Dutch court that they can follow the verdict asap
hopefully - because i hate the effect

I don't care about overscroll glow, that's not important at all. I think that most important things about roms that they are stable and bug free... stock jvt on my phone so far so good....i do not bother with that irrelevant stuff like color of the overscroll glow :s
sent from TT

btw if you do not like the glow you can do as follows:
1) pull the framework-res.apk you use from phone
1) in framework-res.apk find
overscroll_edge.png
overscroll_glow.png
(/res/drawable-hdpi/)
2) copy both files to your pc & edit to be 100% transparent with proper editing tool
3) save & copy back to framework-res.apk into the same location overwriting original files
4) push back the framework-res.apk into phone
profit: no colored overscroll glow
downside: still no bounce

Im not botherd about it ...best thing to do is change it or forget about it

SUPERSONIC SP5 is now done and will arrive soon.

Thank you, works fine

I've got used to the blue glow overscroll effect now. In fact I prefer it - at least it's different. I don't want my SGS to behave like an Apple product! I can't stand the iphone I have to use at work and the camp, restricting, cartoony feel of everything about it. IOS is just an app drawer with a few transitions. It's so basic - no wonder it's smooth. They can keep their stupid bounce.
More to the point - I can't believe Apple went through all this legal trouble just to protect a bouncy overscroll effect. How petty can they be? Samsung have started removing it from their products now, but it's still there if you use ADW, GO, Launcher Pro or SPB shell. I use Quick Pic instead of Gallery and that still bounces. Are Apple going to take legal action against every app in the Market that has the bounce? Next they'll be telling sports companies to make footballs that don't bounce.

samsung has not started to remove the 'boounce effect' from firmwares
yestarday officialy released via kies 3 firmwares for hungary - ALL HAVE BOUNCE EFFECT (2.3.3 + 2x 2.3.4) - buildates after court verdict
(read more here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18613181&postcount=2)
it will be probably remowed only in dutch firmwares as it seems the only patent violation verdict is not affectin european market ...

I would like to disaggre !!!
I am always looking for Good and Stable ROMs at XDA,
but as soon as I see the specs, - "Overscroll Glow *** Color", it disappoints me
Also, the Screenshots etc.
Overscroll glow is rather Cartoonish & unprofessional
Moreover, the themes, OMG
2 out of 10 themes are actually worth looking at
There are no good color combinations at all
Sometimes I wonder, how, a developer that developes a ROM, can be so Cartoonish
Most of the themes are rather unprofessional and do not match the level of the Tech Specs, or ROM feature List
No Hard feelings for anyone
I am JavaScript & Web Developer & I code Enterprise level UI & Backend Applications
Wanted to just say it once on XDA !! (I am talking about the theme part )

there you go: wait for next leaked firmware ~2 weeks and if it will also have overscroll glow start crying =)

This must be a plot to scare us away from the sgs to buy a new phone.

Am I the only person that is thinking like this?

Two things...
Why are the new gingerbread ROMs (OMGB and Evervolv) themed and modified to hell and back? Why can't someone just import things (one by one) to build a stock vanilla gingerbread ROM, and then work from there? I don't want anything altered from the basic vanilla ROM but here we are, dealing with all these customizations and different themes already applied and apps thrown onto there (other than the basics like SU). I don't want any music app on my phone so WHY FORCE ME TO HAVE ONE? I don't want to only have to choose between 2 ROMs to enjoy gingerbread this early. This ultimately leads me having to alter things to GET IT BACK TO A VANILLA ROM.
Also, why must all themes have to be rainbow-eccentric and have no "flowing" colors? Most of the themes are just an eye-sore and make me think the "designer" is colorblind and leaves me to theming everything myself. No, the app doesn't look good if it has a STRONG RED next to a DEEP BLACK, with STRONG BLUE somewhere mixed in.
so, if you dont like whats being offered by the devs, step up and make your own ROM's. if you read through the threads, most users do like what is being offered and that is why they are so popular. personally i cant stand the vanilla android experiance and am currently rocking Nils Biz-sence rom...

This.
Why haven't you "imported things (one by one) to build a stock vanilla gingerbread ROM" if it's so easy? These devs are theming their ROMs to their (and other users') liking, and they are nice enough to post them here. Appreciate that for what it is.
I'd like a vanilla rom that I could customize myself, but I would prefer to have someone else do the work so I'll take what they give me.

I'm not saying it's easy, I can't do what the CM team has done, (because that's what they're doing; taking the CM fixes, applying them, and theming it to their liking) but why are the 2 only ROM dev's right now working on adding **** to a version of android that ISN'T already built for the Incredible? Why can't they make a vanilla ROM, AND THEN customize it to their liking?

So you'd rather have what someone else likes and thinks is "right" instead of what YOU want on YOUR phone? I'm not saying it's a bad thing but why wouldn't you want your own customizations instead of someone elses?

these are free ROMS from unpaid developers, who are porting the ROMs and allowing you to run them WAY BEFORE it would be available to you OTA.

ROM developing
step 1 - get a computer
step 2 - learn to spell "definitely"
step 3 - learn to program in java
step 4 - learn to use linux
step 5 - learn extensible markups and the android os
step 6 - cook a rom
step 7 - post it on xda and ask for donations for step 8
step 8 - buy a 1337 t-shirt and a case of red bull
almost there

lol. i dislike transparent... i don't get it... all it does is take up more processing power. I have to agree on this one.
True it does... but the green stands out to much on a darker rom
if you like the color or don't want your market to change use Titanium backup to freeze the market updater 1.0 . This will not affect the market but stop it from randomly updating.
Yeah, this happens a lot because the market is updated so often. It's a shame because I really liked the market theme that came with myns ROM...
I really like the transparent market because I like seeing my lw behind it. That aside though it urks me that Google forces these updates without warning and a changelog. I'm sure I could go digging for the changelog but they (Google) could also post it when the market updates.
For some reason I just don't like things being updated on my phone without me initializing it. I'm sure that somewhere in market's "terms and conditions" it states that they have the right to update your software without telling you, but it's still annoying.

Just freeze it in tt backup to stop updates. if its a big update you want thaw out and apply update

ive been working on creating a new "rom manager" .. im new at coding android though and its a bit slow going.. i came from the blackberry world (recent convert LOL) .. so hopefully i can get an alpha out soon.. that way we can quit the silliness with red vs green vs blue, and 30 threads on what color does what, what works, what doesn't and have a uniform easy way to flash
Awesome! I think its great that you're going to try and improve upon this existing application. I for one love it when I have many choices in apps.

There's also ROM Updater, which seems to take a more distributed approach, instead of one centrally managed list of roms.

Well, i think the article is about the icons more than the firmware updates. Looks like they will put icons on 3 rows cause of Apple lawsuits.
Maybe it Would be a good way to pull me back to stock rom lol.
Still, it looks strange o.o
I thought it was for OAP`s with such large icons.
I don't like it! I like 4 icons and not 3 and i like my icons the way they are. I don't want them bigger...smaller maybe but definetly not bigger...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I saw it earlier today. It's totally stupid.
Make it 5 a row instead. 3 is just insane, makes it look like a cheap toy or an outdated navigation system or something.
I'm happily running MIUI.
that looks retarded.
5 icons are better than 3
I will be sticking with a ROM that has the icons we have now no matter how good the new update is.

This I understand me too: you have the option that you put 3 bigger icons instead 4 in home screen.
Finally found the original press release but google translate isn't working so well on it.
http://www.samsung.com/sec/news/newsRead.do?news_seq=29336&gltype=localnews
From that press release it seems obvious that the magnified icons and apps are a feature (mostly for older people), and not the new default.
This is a great ideia, btw. The SG2 lacked in accessibility options such as this.

It's totally OK. It's your hard earned money and you have the total control over it's usage. I shared my work in both free and paid forms so that users can test and then only buy if they want to.
I too don't buy apps that often but if a paid app is useful then I wouldn't think twice.
I myself like the stock Sony look but that doesn't means that we shouldn't try new things.
For the note, I have root but not patched services.jar or superusermod but theme works.
Yet it has been previously reported that some themes fail to work that's why I wrote that.

I am selling it because it's useable.
An app/theme can never be complete. There will be something or the other to add/update.
That means I or anybody should never sell anything??

Honestly your price tag is way steap. No offense and you are allowed to charge whatever you want but may I suggest coming down on the price a bit. Notice anyone else selling xperia themes here on xda? Not saying you shouldn't be selling it but I'm pretty sure it's the reason you're getting so much negativity.
Good luck with the theme. It looks promising.

Thank you for your suggestions.
You see the negativity is not due to the price but differences in thinking.
I provided a free version with adequate theming if not much.
I linked to my guide and xposed module if someone wants to make his/her own theme or try before buying.
I am not forcing anyone to buy my theme.
They want 100% of everything at a little or no cost but as a user everyone needs to understand that that's not possible.
I am trying my best to provide the community with good content.
For that am charging a small amount which gives me boost to work better.
I don't work alone. We are a team. I will discuss with my team members for the price.
Once again thanks for your suggestions.
I truly appreciate your help.

Points taken. I definitely understand what you mean about the 100% of everything at no cost. I do appreciate your work though. I really like your Android L theme that you made, I'm rocking that one now on my ZU.
Anyways I do look forward to see how this theme will progress. I do have one request; and that is to not keep the Free version too far behind the paid version. I have seen so many Devs that provide a Free version to their Themes and don't update them. Maybe it's a time strain, I don't know but it would be nice to keep them maybe 1 version apart and that should spark the interests for trials to become buyers.
Cheers

Ya actually it's a time strain to provide support for 2 versions at the same time and as a Dev I need to keep the paid version updated for showing Thankfulness to all those bought the theme.
But that certainly dose not means that I will never update the free version.
Right now I am trying to add Boot animation changer to Xperia Themes[Only Paid for now] as one can with CM11 themes. Taking backup of original one works. Moving bootanimation.zip from Theme App to sd-card works too. Now I need to figure out how to apply the theme bootanimation.zip. I tried 3 different methods but all failed.

Awesome. When you say it's failing to apply, do you mean moving the animation from the sdcard to the media folder?

Yup that's what I exactly mean.
As Sony didn't added direct support for this in Xperia Themes, I searched for workarounds.
Do you have any idea of moving it to Media folder from sd card?

Seeing that it's failing I have a feeling it has to do with mounting and setting permissions. I am in no way a coder/dev of anything, but is there a way for you to add a command string to have the xperia themer(when applying the theme), send a command to a root browser program to do the copying and setting of permissions for you? Kind of how Tasker works.

Did I said that the theme is completed?
It's just the initial version and you are complaining about absence of assets.
If you had ever tried to make Xperia™ Theme then you will understand why Switches are absent.
Read the quote above.

That theme making part was not for you.. @beniamin24 Sorry, it was actually for you but I didn't meant to offend you. I didn't took it hard either. Actually I should say thank you. These comments help me make my works even better.
