Try to close the browser first. Open the app drawer, touch and hold the browser icon, drag to the "i" sign in the upper right corner then choose "Force Stop". I get that also sometimes when watching South Park. Killing the browser always does the trick though.

one touch scroll to top of browser page like iphone?

on the iphone when you were browsing the internet in safari, you could tap the top bar and the page used to auto scroll up to the top of the web page, a very neat feature.
eg: youtube.com/watch?v=pvMGVWKkTkE
is there a way to do this on the SGS? or do we have to manually scroll up?
Thanks
Try pressing the menu button. It Will bring up the address bar.

This doesn't bring you to the top of the page, as requested, but perhaps will give the man what he truly desires.
In case you're looking to get to the top without scrolling, you can reload the page which in my experience brings you to the top of the page. However, this I admit, is an ugly fix, especially on 3G and moreso if you have a limited data plan.

just flick your finger and it takes u to the top in one scroll... if your viewing a stupidy long blog then do it twice. cant see how this is even desirable, just because the iphone browser has one?

Browser app issue. Any ideas?

This has been bugging me for a while now and I wonder if it bugs other people too.
When launching a link from a web page and then returning to the same web page the browser doesn't return to the point on the page where the link was. It goes back to the top of the page. Meaning I then have to scroll to the part of the page where I was before.
This is really annoying. Any ideas how to rectify this issue? It happens in the stock browser and dolphin.

as far as im aware mate thats how it is mine does it too. could try typing in the url bar about:debug and that opens more settings at the bottom of the browser settings. try that

[Q] Dolphin browser + hardware search key = broken?

Hey guys,
I like Dolphin but ever since running GB and using it, my search button won't work properly. If I'm at a page other than google, hitting the search button brings up the url and drops my cursor in the middle of it - forcing me to "select all" before searching.
The stock browser works fine, it brings up a blank box for me to run a search in like usual (regardless of the site I'm at).
Don't remember this issue before moving to GB, hope there's a fix because I love having tabs. Thanks!

I am still using dolphin HD, the bookmark swipe layout is the best, was hoping to use chrome but the default text size is too small .
I am assuming Dolphin HD is the stock browser just different layout design because it is behaving almost exactly like the stock browser when u select text etc. Now on ICS it has the magnifying popup same as stock.

It's also possible to enter "about:debug" in the address bar and press enter to enable debug mode, and reveal the debug sub-menu in settings.
There is an option in the debug menu to change the user-agent to desktop. Unfortunately, the debug mode is not persistent; you will have to re-do this after every reboot (maybe even after restarting the browser, sometimes).
Hopefully there will be ROMs, soon, that will enable a persistent browser debug mode (as many did for HC). (I prefer to disable the wide viewport, personally, and as far as I know, ICS Browser+ does not have any similar debug options, otherwise I would already have switched to it.)
(Also, just a passing thought, but something else that surprised me about the default browser in ICS: no list view for bookmarks?! Scrolling through rows and rows of thumbnails, if you have a lot of bookmarks, is very irritating. Such a simple function, why remove it?! ICS Browser+ also lacks this feature, it seems.)
It's cause the stock ICS browser doesn't let you change the useragent by conventional means. You need to be able to change the tags from android > something else.
Need a custom rom like revolver or android revolution, etc where they added features built into the stock browser (this was on HC) everytime.
I haven't updated to ICS yet, but I hope the stock browser is improved. The HC browser was a load of garbage.
Check if Chrome beta is available on market?
Is there any way to get the "requested desktop site" button to stick? I have to recheck it everytime I go any site. Its really annoying.

Chrome kinda sluggish

Anyone else having sluggish issues in chrome? Was reading wired and it just froze a few seconds before letting me scroll the page.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Yeah it is sluggish sometimes, the other day I was reading http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...e-olympics-will-be-worth-watching-this-summer in Chrome, and it's very bad, scroll delay or doesn't scroll at all. It's a bit more bearable in Dolphin Browser.
Yep, same here.
I am also having an issue with deleting characters in the search bar in Chrome. When I press the backspace button, it adds random characters every time I try to delete. It happens at random times and is kind of annoying.
