Please remove thread

is this real or fake? Where can i download it?

ROM download link or it didn't happen.

Nope.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium

Don't worry people, it's fake! It's based on MiniCM7.

a while ago i suggested to DX to make a "fake" ice cream sandwich this has not yet happend. if you read upon it you will know we will never have a fully working ice cream sandwich for our x8's as processing power is not enough. it needs atleast a dual core to run all the feature's.so i took what i can (music player 4.x.x, google 2.x, ice cream launcher, camera face recognition, ice cream boot animation, ice cream ringtones, wallpapers, clock and a few other apk's) and made this my self it is fake as in it has not been released yet and will not be released but it is as real as the air you breath except you can actually see this just like any other "custom rom" this is actually based on mini cm7 but all other aspects are ICE CREAM'D.I get to use ice cream sandwich and most of the "known" feature's of it before anyone else on this forum or indeed anywhere else in the world. if you know how you can do this your self
Pm for info if needed.
Thanks

This is good, and beautiful and etc, but it misses the most important thig:
Ice cream base. To be honest it's like you get a handful of faeces in a cone and a little whipped cream and a cherry on top. It will look like an Ice Cream, but it tastes like sh*t.
So thanks, but I would like chocolate and vanillia more than this, even without the cherry. But this ice cream vendor will never come to our street.

if u have 4.2.5 then i have 9.9.9999 .. really hard to edit 1 file..

That's a good way to put it. in essence i suppose you think like that for every custom rom on here. everything is based on a handful of faeces in a frozen yogurt and some gingerbread.
in reality the only OS you would accept is the stock 2.1 'cos all of it's ingredient's are real and not "faeces with a cherry on top "

You just made a bullsh*t statement.
I tried to point to the fact it is NOT an ICS. It is a gingerbread base, no matter what it looks like, the core of the ROM is still GB. You can install any ICS app you want, it will be never an ICS. The core makes the real difference (and the kernel, but this is another thing). So I hope you understand now.
have a go if you wish but i am happy with the result's and thought i would "SHOW" you other xda user's what i have done. it's as simple as that really.

Then it makes no sense. It's like you say: "weheheeee, people, I've got a 30 inches of e-penis in my pants, and you never has one like this!"
Well then sir, XDA is NOT interested in your e-penis size, especially if it only looks like you have it and the reality is that you have a vagina.
(And NO, our REAL custom roms are REAL GB and REAL Froyo. These are not just masked to be like GB and F... they based on them. So, end of story )
To everybody else: sorry for the obscene style, but this just hit the light on me...

A big +1 from me
+1 from me to
I'm looking forward to Ice Cream Sandwich. It's rumored to be out around June/July. Honeycomb is a Tablet OS. ICS is Android 2.4. I'm lovin Gingerbread on my HD2 and think ICS would only enhance the HD2 love.
I like being able to visit the local BestBuy and ask to see their Nexus S and then, after he brings it, say "Oooops...hehe....sorry...I already have one better than yours".

Titanium and Nandroid make flashing new ROMs a breeze, I remember with my g1 it was impossible to keep all of my apps after flashing.

Honeycomb on HD2? The screen is a bit too small to make it as a tablet version. Don't know if there will be a possibility to make phone calls.

Cotulla wasn't the only one to get android and the linux kernel working in the first place... don't forget dcordes, netripper, letama, and markinus.... they were working on the project and got a lot accomplished before cotulla even joined the project.
This is really cool. But I think we can wait for Honeycomb for smaller screens or Ice Cream (IDK anymore if it will be Android 2.4 or what, there is way too big mess with this). It would simply be not convenient to use this OS on our 4,3" screens.
yeah i agree, and its very wide, hopefully someone could compress the screen resolution
It already runs on WVGA devices, as seen by running Honeycomb on the emulator at that resolution.
The question is whether it's worth it or not, as a lot of "native" functionality will be switched off at lower res displays. Only time (and great devs) will tell.
We should probably be getting more excited about Ice-cream (2.4) than Honeycomb.
2.4 will came out this summer, hope to see it on hd2!

So so true!!!
Honeycomb is not targeted at smartphones. Its a different matter that a few days back one of the guys changed some contrast settings only to discover that the underlying OS was Gingerbread. I guess they might have to enable call related functionality.
waiting ice cream to come in Q4.. hope HD2 hardware still can support..

Ice Cream Sandwich

iv'e seen this discussed on other sites and on xda (just not under HD2 Android yet) but...seems there's an idea to combine the elements of Gingerbread with Honeycomb and call it ice cream sandwich. wow, google really knows how to roll them out. they started with 'c' with cupcake, then 'd' with donut, 'e' eclair, 'f' froyo, 'g' gingerbread...and 'h' with honeycomb. and now with 'i' for ice cream sandwich..hmm makes you wonder what a 'j' could be ?? jello maybe. at this rate they're going to run out of alphabets !! anybody else get the scoop on this ?

Lets do some analyzing here, emphasis on anal. You joined XDA back in March of 2009 and have only made 68 post seens you joined. So what is your freaking problem? You obviously only posted in this thread to cause trouble. And judging from the two stats I just gave on you, the only reason you come to XDA is to leech off off of the great work here to have a cool device. Cause you surely are not making a effort to contribute to the community.
+1 T-Mac... couldn't have said it better myself!
lol imagine if it was actually would called jello. i think it would be sweet. Whoa never noticed the abc's either!
j for jizz
From anything/everything i've read on the subject, I think it's basically supposed to be a phone version of Honeycomb. Although, i'm sure by then they'll throw all kinds of other fun into the mix, and of course put a giant ice cream cone on the front lawn.
Supposedly, it's called Icecream Sandwich because, "I" follows "H"(oneycomb), and "...Sandwich" because in the Googleplex, there are statues for each of the iterations (e.g., cupcake, donut, eclair, froyo, gingerbread, honeycomb) and "icecream" is hard to differentiate from froyo=frozen yogurt. See this article.

This sounds like a great os, and this is what Google has to say about it.
"This morning we talked about our next version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich. Our goal with Ice Cream Sandwich is to deliver one operating system that works everywhere, regardless of device. Ice Cream Sandwich will bring everything you love about Honeycomb on your tablet to your phone, including the holographic user interface, more multitasking, the new launcher and richer widgets."

They might just be the Alpha and Beta versions of Android. If that is so, then the very first Android phone--the G1--running Android 1.0 is essentially a Beta release (Cupcake is 1.5). Which is actually quite in character with the way Google does things--it wasn't that long ago that "Beta" was finally dropped from Gmail.

Sense 3 lockscreen

I have a DHD build 2.50 405.2 and what i heard is that my DHD will never get sense 3 without rooting it...
actually i dont care if i dont get sense 3 on my device but i'm very interested in only in the sense 3 lock screen
I was wondering if any of you that have the same interest maybe just maybe if we all write in to HTC and request it and maybe ... may consider giving us the sense 3 lockscreen in the next update they make....
just wondering...
what you think?
HTC have said that "some features" of Sense 3.0 will be put on devices other than the Sensation, so only time will tell.
Truth be told, the lockscreen is one of the things I don't like in Sense 3.
I prefer the slide across thumb slider type.

I agree with your last sentance. I think sense 3 lockscreen is the best on any phone, its so customizable
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yeah I agree with you, it is customizable. I just don't like sliding my thumb up to unlock the phone. It's seems unnatural to me. I prefer sliding my thumb from left to right.
It probably all started with Slide 2 Unlock for Windows Mobile. (I never had an iPhone.) After a couple of years of that (with various roms) and then various roms on Android with or without Sense 2, there seems to be no benefit to sliding up or the expanding ring animation.
Still, I do like new tricks and we are lucky we can change to as many roms as we want, when we want, so we are all kept happy.
Peace `Young man'.
Old Dog.
As much as I'd like to have the Sense 3.0 lockscreen, I'm not too keen on upgrading to Ice Cream Sandwich to get it.
Why? Well its just that my DHD started lagging to a pretty nasty amount just after upgrading to Gingerbread, compared to the amount of lag on Froyo. Sure, I realize that just because 1 update was screwed-up, doesn't mean that every last one will be so. Also, my guess is that we're gonna see the same problem that the Desire is currently facing with the "insufficient memory".
Either way, would anyone apart from me want to wait till Ice Cream Sandwich for the new lockscreen?

If I were you, I would just root phone and flash custom ROM eg AR HD . Then download lockscreen add-on and flash :>
I have to admit that after now using Sense 3 for a few days with RCMix3D Aztec v1.0 (thread currently closed), I'm really enjoying the Sense 3 lockscreen (especially with the animated weather). Maybe it was just time for a change again, although this is the first time in ages where I hadn't flashed the next CyanogenMod7 [Nightly] rom. I'd still prefer to swipe my thumb across instead of up but - yeah, the lockscreen is growing on me.
it's been said before on another thread... the icons on the lockscreen should grow when you hold them to drag!

It won't be dead forever.. our Cyanogenics (Cyanogen + random suffixes = WIN ) might take up Honeycomb once the source code is released which, by then, we should all be seeing Ice Cream Sandwich in the Android SDK. Bad move by Google for the consumers IMO, but good move for themselves. If Honeycomb was fully functional on our phones, a couple thousand/million would substitute their phone for a tablet. Additionally, it may drive away some people because they may not like how Honeycomb is and my opt out of buying a Honeycomb tablet. Additionally, due to the low sales of Honeycomb tablets in comparison to the sheep tablet ( iPad ), a small decline or poorer sales could hurt a lot more than it should.
Just my theory.

Im beginning to think it was more of an experiment of where they want Android to go more than anything. And since it was stable on a touch pad they put it out there to get a feel for what people thought. I know when you played with the size and scaling of the Honeycomb port there was a totally different UI that came up so I think they were going with the idea of Honeycomb on a smart phone but something changed thier mind, not sure what tho. Im wondering if it had anything to do with the Apple patent infringement claims.

It appears to me that the picture above is of a phone running CM7 with the Honeycomb theme. I see no resemblance of the picture above the the leaked pictures posted in the OP.
Even though the incredible didnt get the 2.3 update, does this mean i might get 2.4 or am i being too optimistic?
That's pretty optimistic, but I wouldn't be surprised if CM8 was made available for the inc. I'm sure we'll get ICS, just not officially.
Nice, more stuff to play with coming our way
