Question about the music app in 2.2.1

I recently flashed a gingerbread rom (the leaked samsung one) and the stock touchwiz music player was able to remember which tab you were last on (ie, if you were on the artist tab and hit back to exit the app, it would open to the artist tab the next time) the 2.2 music player doesn't do this. does anybody know if the 2.2.1 music player behaves in this way?
I just tried.. nope.
Also 2.2.1 is still froyo 2.3 is gingerbread
thanks for responding.
p.s. Yes I did know that 2.2(.1) is froyo, just curious if they had updated the music app for 2.2.1. By gingerbread I did in fact mean 2.3.

New Music/Clock/Camera/Gallery Apps

Anyone know of they work on the Nexus One? I'm downloading them now.
Camera installed and works but missing the shutter button graphics. Meh
Music App works great.
Desk Clock fails to install. Could be a permission thing.
Gallery 3D FCs when trying to launch.
Cube Livewallpaper works but FC's when opening the settings
I just tried the new Music app this morning. It works. They have official signatures too so it works even on unrooted phones.
The music app seems nice, though it also seems a bit sluggish to me. It will take a few days to know if some of the Music apps annoying bugs have been fixed yet.
I haven't tried the other apps yet, maybe later today. I'm curious what has been changed.
camera nd music work fine (though you will replace the camera app entirely and the prog is a bit crippled regarding options)
gallery-app does not work for me (force closes)
Music works fine, but still has not implemented Gapless Playback and Album Artist classification.
It won't install for me. It just says "Application not installed".
????
is there a way to install these on an unrooted phone without overwriting the original system apps?
Just install as normal. You can't overwrite a system app.
Any remarkable improvement in the new camera app?
I can't find the “Recent” section with album previews and a scrolling wheel feel? Can you guys tell me how to get to it?
Thanks.

Im running stock gingerbread and the music player downloaded and is working just fine. Didn't try the other apps because reading the comments from other users they all had the same result as you.

Thanks for the feedback.
I tried re-installing the gingerbread update and installing the app again but I just got the same results. I had rooted my phone using SuperOneClick when it had Froyo because of internal space issues but when I updated it to Gingerbread there was really no need. It is my understanding the phone becomes unrooted after you install the update right?
I am unrooted 2.3.3, and as I said earlier, the music player won't install. I just get "Application not installed".
Is that what other people are getting?

I got the same error. My problem was that I had the updated music player (Gold Speaker Music App). I went ahead and reflashed the gapps, Giving me the old music app (Blue Speaker Music App), now the the music app installs just fine.
Note this will not replace the Blue Speaker Music App.
After the Leaked Music App was installed, I do not have the Music Sync option in the my Google sync settings that came with the Gold Speaker Music App. I have tried to update to the Gold Speaker Music App after I got the leaked music app working however the Gold Speaker Music App replaced both music apps.
Thought I would add: I was doing this in hopes that I would get the Jumper and the Sync option with the new Leaked Music App, just in case Syncing would start working. Maybe this is the key to get the Google Music Sync to work again and I hope someone smarter than me can figure this out.
Ah, a great thing about the new music player (just installed with no problem on my unrooted N1) is that it works with Voice Search's "Listen To..." option, where the old Froyo one doesn't. Very sweet. "Listen to Paranoid" brought the song right up, and it starts playing, no need to hit any keys. Will be great in the car.
Also seemed to grab an existing playlist I made on my phone using PowerAmp, which also makes me very very happy.

[Q] Anyone working on the Dock?

I picked up the dock and really like the remote feature, but I was wondering, is anyone working on developing it to do anything else? Like be able to control apps other than Nemo Player. I'd even settle for allowing it to control Nemo Player the same way Nemo works when it's not on the dock, mainly being able to scroll through folders when choosing videos. When you have 20 videos it's a pain to search through them.
Is any of this possible?

[Q] Change the default dock app

Hi,
Is there a way to change the default application that loads when connecting the tablet to the dock?
It currently runs nemoPlayer, however I'd rather it just run the stock standard Music app.
I don't know, but since I have installed the last Taboonay ROM (0.9.1), there is no more app opening when I put the tablet on the dock, and for me this is better...
Hmm, well that works too I guess... although does the actual dock work with the rom? For example, does the remote control work, audio out, etc?
I just put that rom on mine, so I'll try this when I get home I guess...
I would be very interested to see if there was a fix for this in the 4.0.3 stock ROM. I'd prefer to use clear.fi to stream media from my PC so that the dock finally finds a use as a bedroom hifi system....
Do you have ICS on your tab? What happens if you disable Nemo player in the App settings?

Go to Settings>Apps>go to Nemoplayer>scroll down where it says> Clear defaults

Default App Actions under ICS

I am running the lightspeed ics rom.
I have removed the standard browser and music player. I use Dolphin HD and PowerAmp.
Dolphin launches correctly for URLs, however I have BT keyboard that has shortcut keys. I can't get dolphin to launch for the browser button or poweramp for the music button.
I reinstall the base music player and browser, they launch from the buttons just fine.
Any ideas on where that relationship data is stored or how to change?
Neither the stock browser or music player show any default actions under Manage Apps.
This is just a shot in the dark (haven't actually tried this myself) but try putting the apk's in system/app as Music.apk and Browser.apk respectively. Remember to set the permissions, reboot to recovery and clear cache + dalvik, and try your hotkeys again. No guarantees though. Might be worth doing a nand backup first.
Tried creating a symbolic link with the name Browser.apk. No go.
Tried copying the dolphin apk into /system/app and renaming and fixing permissions. No go.
Any other ideas?
I opened up the launcher (I use Nova) apk and it looks like the the action for the various shortcut buttons are hard coded in the default_workspace.xml. I may play around and see if I can modify that to use different methods.
