Hello,
I just set up Swiftdroid v2.0 RC5 with my 540, however, I wanted to set up WiFi after that to download some apps. The problem is that I can't connect to my router, after entered the correct key it says 'Authentification', and some seconds later it aborts and says 'Deactivated', it simply doesn't connect, while other machines (i.e. my laptop, my sister's PC) are able to use our WiFi.
Help would be appreciated.
Regards.

Flash the ROM again I don't have problems with WiFi..
I actually flashed RC4 twice yesterday, I thought RC5 would solve that problem, so I installed it, sadly it didn't. I don't think that that problem is caused by a hardware error as WiFi worked with the raw 2.1.

Are you sure that you entered the correct password? If you know it's correct, revise your router configuration and change the password of the wireless point to something different and try again. If all else fail, install Connectify on a Wifi compatible computer and tether your internet connection.

Hello
Its happening exactly the same with me. I am on B 1.9.30.
Did you solve the problem?
cheers
happened to me once with both, galnet and gangterjoop version. Rebooting the phone solved the problem.
(i know you prolly did already, but if you didnt..)
So I dont exactly know what is going on. I go to connect to a wireless network and it will start to connect, say its obtaining IP adress, and then refresh and start all over again. It never actually connects and stays connected. I know its not the router because I have tried numerous networks (that worked before) and now they just stopped working. I did have trouble with root and I re unlocked the tablet because root wasn't working. Is there anyway I messed something up? I installed the 3.2.2 rooted rom and now I flashed back to moray both with the same non-working wifi result.
Anyone know what is going on?

Did you by chance restore system apps and data through Titanium Backup? Sometimes wifi is messed up by restoring a previous version of the system app and data over a newer version supplied by a custom Rom.
You might want to just wipe everything in recovery, reflash your Rom and set it all up again fresh.
my WIFI was messed up when I swiched Kernels way back. I had forgotten to push one of the files... when you switched ROMs, did you wipe first or did you just install one over the other?
have similar issue after going from hammerhead 3.2 to moray 2.2.2.
Infrastructures wifi works fine, but whe trying to connect the xoom to an ad-hoc (from Nokia jokiuspot) just keeps displaying "obtaining IP address". Never had a problem with hammerhead? Guessing it has something to do with the dchp client on the Xoom¿
Certainly not a big problem, and something I am more than happy to live with as is.
everything else working spot on. Using a UK wifi only!
I hope someone can help me with this.
I have an ideos X5 and this happens with both aurora and miui roms (all ICS).
At home, I can connect perfectly to my WPA2 PSK network and use it.
At work, I can connect to the WPA2 PSK network, I get all dhcp settings, but can't connect to anything. I can't even get dns resolution for google.com.
The laptop and my ICS tablet both work perfectly on these networks.
Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot and solve this problem?
Both aurora and miui already worked in this network, but I can't reproduce it now, even with wipes and different versions installed.
Happns the same with since yesterday! I'm using the Elora ROM, and already reinstalled it over and over and still doenst work =( any help??

Go to the latest Elora/Aurora zip/update that worked and extract wpa_supplicant from system/bin/
replace it with the one on your phone.
reboot
I'm using this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540838
Wi-Fi worked fine until just now when I found it wasn't connected to the hotspot. When I tried to connect, it said "failed to connect to network". Tried deleting /data/misc/wifi and now it just stuck at "searching for Wi-Fi networks..."
Tried Wi-Fi tethering/mobile data/bluetooth and all works fine which probably means the hardware is fine. Also tried reflashing the ROM and no luck.
Is there anything I can try except doing a factory reset? Help appreciated.

Have you tried a different modem?
Try flashing a newer modem or the entire firmware!! Most of the times it should do the trick!

This happened to me. It is related to something in the database settings.
To fix it download an SQLite Editor (I use SQLite Debugger. Open the app, then open Setting Storage, then setttings.db, then Global, then scroll down to wifi_display_on and edit the value, change it to 0. Reboot and then you should have WiFi working again.
Sometimes the issue comes back and you have to do the fix again.
Maybe someone more qualified than me can take a look at to fix this problem permanently?
Hope this helps.

If you are on CM7, this happens. WiFi connects but soon disables although it still shows a working connection.
Check whether you have the correct WiFi drivers installed (there are two, search around for them).
Try updating to the latest baseband for your region.
Work-around: Try "Wifi Reassociate" app. Download it from Play Store. It periodically pings to a specific IP address keeping the WiFi connection alive. If it finds that WiFi is not working, it re-enables it.

those wifi drivers are for stock only
if on cm7 you must use biels kernel if the rom is his base if you want wifi to work
there is nothing wrong with wifi on cm7 as I use it all the time

Yes, I know that.
I always experienced WiFi issue on CM7 on every baseband I tried for my region. Other users from my area too have this issue.
Anyway, I now use a stock-based ROM and have no issues.
