[Q] Power and Overheating problem, likely due to hardware - HD2 General

I replaced a broken screen on my HD2 recently. After I re-assembled everything and turned on power, I noticed the phone overheats and draws very large current (up to -300mA in standby and up to -800mA with screen on). When I connect it to external power, overheating gets worse and current is small positive (=40mA or so).
Software and battery are definitely not the cause of this (i swapped Roms and batteries to test this). So, it must be a hardware issue, more specifically an issue created by disassemble/assemble cycle.
Any ideas, wizards?

charging problem, need help

i had this problem since i got the universal which is about 6
months ago, the problem is that when the battery is 100% the green led is stuck even when i remove the charger, and in the power settings "charging" wont go away, and the battey is dead in less than 3 hours on standby, i tried another ROM and another battery but its no use, is there any solution, i really need help.
thanx in advance
Have same problem... any help
Probably problem with M/B, small chip that control charging. But check the WIKI first I think I saw something about this problem.
pl chk all radios are off. I had same problem last year but in my case I was using whatever source of power such as car charger, Inverter, ect. I'm using only my laptop now. Charging Voltage can damage your batt real fast.
The charge control chip is in the battery pack, not on the mainboard. While it is possible that the OS is reporting false based on the data it receives from the chip, it is unlikely since he says he tried other ROMs as well, which would have eliminated the problem.
I would have also thought of a dying battery, but he has tried another battery without success.
My best guess is that the power routing chip is either damaged or miscalibrated, and evaluates the received data wrong, leading to excessive power drain, even in standby mode, for example by keeping WiFi powered, and not instructing the CPU to throttle down.
The "stuck" LED, however, indicates a different problem, as LED control is a separate aspect of the motherboard firmware.
I would recommend backing up everything, and using mtty to format the DOC, which should erase everything. After that, install you ROM of choice, and if the damage is not hardware-based, it should be fixed. If it is hardware based, then I'm afraid only a qualified service can help, most probably the device vendor, if the warranty is still valid.

i9100 - replacing the PMIC (MAX9887)

hey everybody
Hello everybody
what are the odds for a successful replacement for the i9100 PMIC, the MAX9887?
i mean desoldering and soldering a new one...yes i know its BGA footprint
what tools do i need?
i bought about a month ago a second hand SGS2. The buyer says everything is OK. it is, except that battery beieg extreamly drained
Two batteries of mine pass drain tests withthe lithium charger turnigy accucel 6. both batteries prooved to be 1600mAh..
In my case the battery won't last two/ three hours on flight mode, even after full charge
my (unfproffesional) observation:
I noticed that the phone gets real hot even during flight mode and normal operating (3g network, no data )
So, i thought it must be a messed up IC chip causing this. I disassembled the phone and powered it half-naked.
Traveled a bit in YouTube and wait the battery to drop. as it did, i tried to touch some of the IC chips to check the temp, i knew the heating must
Be created there somewhere. And, it did. The heating in my device comes from U501 , MAX8997.
i know this chip responsible for some power management
what are the odds its shorted? causing the device to drain massive current which empty the battery...

Serious battery problem

Hello everyone,
unfortunately I have a serious problem that I think is not related to software. From few weeks my phone dies at half a day (before it lasts more than a full day).
I have already changed the battery (by buying another original Samsung) but I have not solved anything.
It also does a strange thing: I put in charge the telephone turned off, then when fully charged if I remove the battery and insert it again, the phone will not turn on as if he had the battery to zero. If I plug in the power supply and turn it on, the phone turns on and if I detach it again, the phone remains on indicating that the battery is charged (although I do not remember if it reports 100% or less).
If I do the same full charge but without removing the battery, when I detach the charger, the cell phone turns on normally (even if it has the serious problem of lack of autonomy that I said).
Initially I thought it was a problem of some software installed that consumed too many resources or rom or similar, but after having replaced to the original ROM, after changing the battery with a new one, having tried various battery chargers, now I'm worried because the problem seems to be due only to the phone.
Even if I leave the phone turned off and not in charge, the morning after I turn it on and died!
I am seriously worried: any of you happened something like this, even with other phones?
If I search on the forums, as it comes to batteries we always talk about software installed, optimizations etc., It is very difficult with all that's out there to find some problems similar to mine!
Please help me! : cry:

Battery percentage doesnt increase

My Micromax phone(Yureka Plus) has been having a few charging problems lately. First let me list the problems that i have seen, and diagnose it as much as i can on my end.
The battery shows the charging indicator but the percentage doesn't always increase.
When I pull the battery the percentage changes at times-increases or decreases, but this doesn't always happen.
The phone sometimes refuses to charge entirely, and it takes multiple tries to get it to do so.
Also very rarely the after switching off the phone and charging it, the screen suddenly starts flickering blue-and only can be fixed by pulling the battery(Happened twice so far)
It shows particular resistance to increase in charge, especially beyond the 70% range-its practically impossible to get it to 100%
When I connect it to a laptop,it does get recognized and i am able to access the files on it(However there seemed to be problems when using an OTG, cant confirm ATM)
When using the phone while charging it either discharges or remains at the same percentage, usually the former.
Its not a software issue as i havent updated the phone in the past month, and the problems began about 2 weeks ago
I have changed cables, power sources and tried to recalibrate the battery-none of them worked.
The problem may or may not be connected with the following-The day before the issue started i was cleaning the phone using water.
I did find some amount of water in the case, but it hardly was enough and none of it seemed to be there near any electrical components
I cleaned the usb port, battery connectors, pins, and did a visual inspection, nothing seemed out of place.
The water damage indicator of the phone seems to be normal.
However the battery does spin-only on one end though...it doesn't spin on the other end.
Thus i am not sure if its a sign of battery damage or just how its manufactured...I think that swelling should be universal and not discriminate between sides.
Unfortunately i will not be able to give the phone for repair/buy stuff as i am out of town for about a week
Is it just a bad battery or something more serious? Like a problem in the logic board or something?

Also the problem is intermittent-it often reoccurs every few percentages.... and i also rebooted in safe mode to ensure that no third party apps are causing the problem. When the battery goes beyond 70-90% the charging(if any) slows quite often.
