Hi,
I flashed the simlicity 1.5 rom on my sgs today, but now my phone wont connect to kies.
I tries uninstalling and installing kies but it doesnt help.
I have all my contacts backed up as .spb. How can i import them to my phone?
Thanks for the help!
Usually on a custom rom you cant connect to kies... What you can try is to see you you are on the correct csc code, as when i was on the wrong one it wouldn't work, now it does. I am on a different rom though.
Find your correct csc code, either on samfirmware.com, searching here or net. Then either download nitrality and go to tools, change csc. Or you can type *#272*your imei# Changing the csc WILL factory reset our phone
Next time if you have questions it may be better to post on the Q&A section
Thank you!!

hi, i had the kies froyo firmware, i was experiencing lots of problems with force close, and my messanger was not working at all for sms, so i flashed using this website step by step ://androidadvices .com/update-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000-to-gingerbread-android-2-3-2
so i installed the gingerbread, it was working for 2 days ok, but then it started to freeze, and the biggest problem is that now it wont connect me to my BELL CANADA network, my sim is ok, i go to setting, networks and when i click on the bell, it tries to load for 2 min, then it says unable to register to network.....i assume is because the firmware i put maybe from europe....well i cant find an official canada network....my firmware now is:
pda I9000xwjv1
phone 19000xxjve
csc i9000xxjv1
i used odin 1.3v to flash it...samsung kies says my firmware cannot be updated.....
i want to flash it back to froyo using odin and that works in canada. im a noob please explain like im an idiot please and post me the pda file, the pin file, the phone and csc file if i need it.
and explain what i should check on odin (autoreboot, repartition, etc) and do i need to put new csc and phone file?
please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm trying to update my SGS GT-1900 to gingerbread with odin, i follow the steps correctly (Remove sim, put it into download mode, connect to pc with odin open) but odin doesn't recognise that the phones connected, do i need to install any drivers or such?
Yes, you need. Unfortunately, you have to install modem drivers. Or standalone, or just install KIES.
But then be careful, you have to: install KIES, reboot, kill two KIES processes running in background (or exclude it from startup via msconfig.exe), and after run Odin.
Standalone drivers should do the work as well...
its working with my friends galaxy s, but its taking a couple of hours and it still says 'setupconnection' is this normal?
no, there is communication error. Normal flash in Odin is 2-5minutes only.
Please look out the COM edit box change to yellow afte connecting.
if not change,
make sure you have installed the correct driver.
Try to reinstall again.

Just install kies first, it will install all drivers needed to connect you galaxy S.
When connected to odin, you should see one of the white boxes turn yellow immediatly, this means you are ready to flash.
If everything fails, just copy the stuff to a USB and try on another PC, I've done it in windows xp 32 bits and win 7 64 bits, so I think you shouldnt have problems in most sistems setups.
managed to flash (pda: jvk Phone: jvk csc: jvk kor) everything works except the internet, kies wont alloow me to fix it.

For data you will need to add back your provider's APNs. Go to
Settings->Wireless and network->Mobile networks->Access Point Names
You have to have the correct APN settings for your network here in order to use data. Search the forums if you don't know the settings for your network. There are several threads with network settings listed.

I NEED to change my csc code because i think that is the reason i'm having trouble with my 4g connection. (mentioned in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2779709)
I tried everything but nothing works.
- Flashing the rom with with the right CSC code (LUX) a few times and factory resetting
- Flashing another rom to see if maybe the rom was the problem
- trying the ussd code but it says 'Connection problem or invalid MMI code'
- Flashing rom trought Odin as CSC.
.....
I hope someone can help because i'm about to throw this phone out the window soon.
I've spent hours on google to find the answer but i found nothing that worked for me except maybe rooting but i want to stay stock and keep knox.
Thank you for reading.
Hi all, I have a problem with 3g.
I bought s4 i9505 and it was on 4.2, I had problem with slow internet, so I called operator and they told me to turn on WCDMA only in settings..
When i turn WCDMA only on, it loose my network (emergency calls only), and i have no network at all.. when i put wcdma/gsm automaticly it has normal network..
So i thought its problem in firmware, so today i fleshed 4.4.2 with odin.
Now i have same problem, no network with wcdma only..
I serached internet and i tried several programs for 3g, but nothing worked.. any solution ? thx

Some problems can appears:
1. Type *#1234# and paste here what appears. Continue with the step 2 if you have wrong CSC.
2. Wrong CSC. Solution: Install Kies 3 for know ur CSC (pic 1). Go to Sammobile.com and download the correct firmware 4.4.2 (correct region) for your device.
3. Flash again this firmware and let the process finish till the final. Dial again *#1234# and verify if all is correct like the firmware you downloaded and installed before. Flash again same firmware if not.

this is what it writes
Might be a corrupted EFS folder.
I have had the same problem for 3 weeks now. I've tried searching for a solution here and in other online sites to no avail. I personally tried flashing a new stock rom, flashed some odd number of modems, tried factory resetting etc. Nothing worked. I'm afraid it might be due to corrupted EFS folder which I still don't know how to repair.

Here are the details..
Product Code NOT ACTIVE
Original CSC code EMPTY BOX
Active CSC code XTC
PDA version N9005DXUGBOF1
CSC version N90050LBGBOF1
Baseband version N9005DXUGBOA3
Android version 5.0
Mobile operator 405852.
thank u in advance
Flash with odin the firmware that your phone came with.
The stock Samsung firmware can be found here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/
March the last 4 characters of the csc and pda to the firmware. Download it, unzip it to get a tar.md5 file, flash the tar.md5 file in the PDA/AP box of Odin. I prefer Odin 3.07 for flashing back to stock.
Tried all those but no luck...
I coudnt register with the network after searching and selecting the network...
It says unable to connect try later... veryfew times it registered with very few sim cards yet no dialling tone etc.. finally comes again to the registration problem state.... any helps?
Wrong IMEI and wrong serial is that correct .
Have you restored your original backed up EFS folder ??
