Will NoDo lock again the device ?
Thanks for info.
i am not sure but i tried updating it and it failed at step 8 out of 10 due to incorrect registry errors - similar to the errors on the samsung devices for WP7 updates prior to NoDo
moderator please move this thread to the general section please as the OP has put it in the wrong section
hello for me just stop on step create restore point
no other probleme
The NoDo update for "official" WP7 devices actually re-locks the OS.
There seems to be no successor of Chevron so far.
It will take time to port the "NoDo" update of WP7 for Leo anyway, no rush here.
I hope that devs will give us the NoDo with unlocked phone.
No-Do unlocked would be great. But if it doesn't happen I'll stick with the current version of WP7. Other than a few things missing, it's a great OS. Eventually I'll break down & get a native WP7 device, but until then I love showing people that mine runs smoother & quicker than their WP7 phones!
is there any csutom rom for the samsung focus **** the ones for htc devices???
not as of now, but the mango RTM works fine with it, seems more useful to me than a custom rom that is based on a beta build of mango.
also, chevron unlock is retained if you do it right.

the thread in the general WP7 forum is what i used to update to mango and retain my unlock, it it's fairly clear and should work so long as you follow all the steps carefully
How do u know what versiĆ³n of the focus do i have?
Please take a look to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217982
It's a chance to get custom ROM's for our Focuses, so don't miss!
Any update on custom ROM for Focus activity?
Is it much more difficult to do custom ROM for Samsung devices due to different drivers? I believe the Focus is the best selling WP7 device, so I would think there are lots of people tinkering with it.
...maybe because the Focus is primarily US, and most custom ROM folks are outside the US???
Just thinking outloud

I guess the resounding silence on this forum answers my question
One of the reasons I was asking...looking to buy either the upcoming Focus S, or the HTC Titan. So I wan't custom ROMs, go with Titan....just afraid it is too freakin big!
Hi
Could you please tell me whether the HTC firmware update for Mango will be available on Zune for the HTC HD2? I currently have the terrific NoDo version by XBmod-Yuki installed and decided to stop at NoDo and wait for the official Zune release. I then read that Mango will not be fully functional unless you have the HTC firmware update, but as the HTC HD2 should't be running Mango, i'm confused. The reason I ask is because I don't know if the HTC firmware is brand or phone specific? Any enlightenment is much appreciated.
You'd get more attention posting this in the Windows Phone 7 Q&A Sub-forum
Yes, HTC updates are device-specific. You wont be able to use a Mango OTA on your phone since it was not designed for the HD2. Best to wait for the devs to get their hands on it & adapt it for this phone.

HTC HD2 should not be running Nodo either, yet there you are... Of course there will never be an official Mango release for HD2, firmware upgrade means you need to buy another phone!
The only way for you to get Mango on your phone is to go to the WP7 development forum for HD2 and get your HD2 loaded with the latest Mango from there. Stick with the same dev team *hint hint

Now that was truly halarious, nearly fell off my bed laughing. I hope the OP is paying attention.
Hi!
Good day!
I have a HTC HD2 with Android 2.3.4 installed in it and I would like to try/ switch to Windows Phone7. I've seen a few videos over youtube and read some of the threads here but all I see are windows 7 BETA roms. Is there a "final" rom for the HD2? If not, where do i find the latest Windows 7 ROM for my HTC HD2?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427611 - This thread seem to have compiled all the ROMs and updates for HTC HD2 -Windows (Thanks to the efforts of the developers and the one who compiled) but I cannot seem to figure out which ROM to get. Any assistance would be very much appreaciated.
Apologies for asking a very basic question.
Thanks!
Carlos
WOW..
I don't really know what you mean with BETA roms, because all those roms shall be very well developed, in my eyes.
"A final rom" by meaning a rom that is almost as much developed as the official released WP rom, then you can just choose one from the development threads. In ex. my HD2 is running on XBmod rom and is just like running on a official rom for me. There are many good roms like the one made by HD2Owner, or the on by Pdaimatejam etc. All these roms are WELL developed, not a BETA.
But if you mean a final one by meaning that the development is good enoug so the rom is stopped on development, you can't find one, because all roms are still getting new features just like the official one is updating itself
here you find all ROM's for HD2
recommend this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356833
dont forget to read tutorial for install
also dont forget to need ask Microsoft for Live activation code (all HD2 ROM's need this)
Thanks!
Hi Eric and dxdy,

All the ROMs are basically the same, albeit tweaks the chef may have added. You have to realize that WP7 is constantly updated by MS...just like Android. All the ROMs sporting v8773 (Tango) have the BETA v8773 build. Thus, when MS releases the official final version of v8773 you'll have to reflash your phone and install all your apps again when the chef releases an update.
The Yuki/XBmod ROM is on the official v8107 (Mango). It is also the most stable and the only updatable custom ROM via official MS Zune update. As such, no reflash needed. It is no longer chef supported, but it's still the most stable one of the bunch.
I have tried almost all of the ROMs out there and still use Yuki/XBmod on my phones.
Hi hjhjhj ,
Noted on that. Things seem clearer now.
I just did it! I was able to boot my phone on Win7 woohooo!!!
Thanks to all who replied to my query
Ok one last problem, when i call Microsoft help desk and ask for an activation code, what details do they ask? will they make sure I have a phone originally installed with WP7?

Hi,
I have a question about Pdaimatejam Mango ROM.
Am currently planning to install Pdaimatejam Mango v7.5 ROM. Havent seen reviews about how good it is. If someone can give me a short quick review i will be really thankful.
That said, my question is, Can i use the link below to install Android on SD after installing Pdaimatejam ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913815
I have read Yuki Back to the future ROM locks SD card and we will have to send Unlock cab and then install android. Also it was said, once we reboot the phone, the sdcard will be locked again.
Does Pdaimatejam ROM have the same problem??
basically i am trying to install WP7 on NAND and Android on SD.
Thanks
Naresh
I installed this Rom over a week ago and i must say i am very impressed. Very responsive, no lag/freezes/crash or boot loop yet.. Most importantly battery life is excellant, everything else works fine ie data email internet etc
Yes, you can use that link to dual boot, there is a video on pdaimatejams thread on how to dualboot too .very useful.
No its not the same for pdaimatejams rom ie it does not lock the sd card like yukis when reboot.Anyhow The unlock cab for yuki is very simple to use .

Thanks for the info Moscino02. I read Tango roms arent that great with respect to stability and so thought i should go with Mango build. I will update tango once its released officially:good:
up until now i'm still using his Tango 7.5 version which is what I also used in my tutorial below.

Thanks mengfei. I heard the battery life of Tango ROM is bad. As i can see from the forum, it's personal preference and the how old/new ur battery is..
The tutorial looks awesome.. I am not able to decide between Tango and Mango roms. Everyone says Mango roms are stable but i havent seen anyone using Mango anymore. Being a first timer, its a bit confusing
What would you suggest..
well usually the latest ones are the better ones, fixing some bugs from the previous versions BUT at the same time creating new ones lol
maybe I'll wait for WP7.8
