Hello, I have a HTC touch diamond 2 with stock rom manila 2.1. I have no internet tariff so the update option in the weather tab is no option for me.
It would be nice to connect the device via usb or bt to activesync and then manila would update at every connection automatically.
Has somebody an idea?

To update the weather, I have to use activesync. How can I use wireless internet on my phone to update the weather info?

I THINK that was what i was using if you hold down the styles on the weather pannel i think it says update first connect to internet with ie then go back to the today screen and hit update it will take like a minute

I connected to wi-fi and then clicked update in the weather-to-go menu. It updated the info.

I have been using SPB Weather program for a while but I have difficulties to syncronise it with my PC to download the latest forecast.
I got the error message the "Please establish internet connection" but I can connect to MSN or web via Opera at the same time.
On the "Connections" section at "Settings" my ISP and GSM Provider's settings are already installed.
Does anybody have any solution or suggestion?

AFAIK on WM5 it is not possible to update HTC Weather (as part of HTCHome) via GPRS. On WM6 this is said to be working via GPRS. On WM5 update only works via AS or WiFi.
Is there someone that is able to hack the (WM5) HTCHome.dll once more in order to make the weather update on WM5 via GPRS also?

I have already done this hack edsub... on the patched .dll I've attached. Still, no GPRS updating...
did you set connection in advanced to my isp ?
my htchome on wm5 always used gprs
I have set 'My ISP' as the active 'network' in advanced.
I get a working GPRS (internet) connecion via other s/w (IE, Newsbreak) using this setting.
It's just HTC Home weather that won't update.
@Rudegar: Can you post the version (cab or dll) that youre using and that works on WM5?

i just bought my HD today and it's really a wonderful phone.
So, with my diamond owned before, with the installation of "HTC Home proxy patch" (version 2.1) i was able to use my internet connection and get weather update.
The same patch applied to my HD, don't work anymore!
Can you help me using HTC Home application (like weather or stocks) via proxy?
PS: the internet connection via proxy (port 8080) is the only possible for me (company sim).

I have the problem that my Topaz with Manila 2.5 (Sense) connects to the internet without any reason wich i can see. I have no automatic update functions runnning, but suddenly my Device connects via HSDPA.
Another Problem is, that everytime I go to the Twitter Tab (or rotate the phone in album tab), the Phone connects to HSDPA, too.
How can I disable this? I dont want to disable HSDPA in general - but I have a time-based contract...
Does anybody hasa solution for this?

Either twitter, weather, push internet, push email, or email fetching..
You can use a program called Modaco No Data to disable your internet connection and enable it when you want to.
I have an other ROM now, which does not have this behavior. (But can´t find the reason for that)
For the people who have the same problems as i had: you can delete the password from you IPS-internet-connection - so the device will ask you for the password each time it tries to connect.
I would like to have a solution too, I don't have "DATA tarif" actually and this is a problem for me. I don't won't to cancel data connection because MMS or actualising of Weather (once a day)...
if u guys get a rom with the new leo dump, the data connection is fix there
