I have been using SPB Weather program for a while but I have difficulties to syncronise it with my PC to download the latest forecast.
I got the error message the "Please establish internet connection" but I can connect to MSN or web via Opera at the same time.
On the "Connections" section at "Settings" my ISP and GSM Provider's settings are already installed.
Does anybody have any solution or suggestion?
Thanks

I have just installed Pocket PC 2003 on my pocket pc. However I cannot get internet explorer or Messenger to work. I am tried to set my GPRS for (O2 -UK) and the phone appears to be connected. However, when I run messenger I get the following message:
Logon to MSN messenger service failed because the service could not be found. please make sure that you are connected to the internet.
When I try to browse the net.. I get "page cannot be found" message.
Any Ideas guys - What am I doing wrong?
Can someone confirm how to set up the O2 uk connections in Pocketpc 2003.
Thanks
Ron
With AT&T at least in the US, you need to remove the proxy server...I did that after getting the same error message & now it works!
Any tips? I'm sure I have everything set up perfectly, but it just won't download any web pages. Is there something i'm missing?
I can download my e-mails fine (Hotmail, and IMAP) but can't get any web pages open using eather IE or Opera.
Cheers
Try disabling proxy on your GPRS/EDGE connection first (take note of the settigns first). I haven't been able to do anything using Activesync Passthru.
It was allready disabled.
I've just done a hard reset, and it still won't connect with a fresh Activesync connection. Any ideas?
ACTIVE SYNC AND INTERNET
Under options in ACTIVE SYNC---you have to have THIS COMPUTER CONNECTS TO INTERNET .
Thanks, but it's allready ticked.
Anything else?
hi!
Use tweaks2k2.net or any other program that enables the browser pass as IE 6.0.. just try
ACTIVE SYNC AND INTERNET
I've also had problems if my OUTLOOK inbox is set to my POP MAIL ACCOUNT (YAHOO). When I check outlook mail for some reason it connects.
Also--what are your connection settings to get to INTERNET for your GPRS and WORK settings unrelated to active sync?

I don't get what you mean. What will this do?

hi
Well, matheprat im just guessing if this is right... but i have encounter this problem wherein i can't load any web page on my ppc..theres an option on tweaks2k2 where you can chage PPC IE as IE 6.0 Well It will not totally chage but it will make your browser pass like an IE 6.0.. just try and let me know if you've done it
Thanks for the reply. I tried doing the above, and there's no change, I still can't connect. Every time I connect the PPC to Activesync I get a message saying that it's unable to find a server assigned IP. Ive tried using a specific IP (my computers), and leaving it to obtain one from the server, but neither work. When it was connecting before, i set it to obtain an IP from the server.
I also can't update the weather info for SPB Pocket Weather, but I can check e-mails (hotmail and IMAP), and sign into MSN on the device.

I've tried to get updates by being Connected to activesync and Via GPRS and it never downloads. What Could I be missing?

Activating WiFi -> launching QuickGPS -> Download...
I'm having the same problem and I am connected either by Wifi, Active Sync (WMDC6.1) or GPRS and still get the message "Connection Failed, Please try again later". I know ive got a web connection, cos i can access the web! I've raised call wiv HTC & will post back any reply I get from them but if anyone has any bright ideas. I know there is a manual workaround but would rather get to root cause.
If you're in WM5 you have to deactivate the advanced connexion functionnality (maybe not the exact name, I have a french rom). How to do it: go in settings --> tab "connexions" --> usb to PC --> deactivate the option shown
It worked for me, I couldn't access the net via activesync, now I can.
If WM6 I don't know, maybe the same.
Is it a matter of proxy settings ?
I have the same problem in my office. The web surf works but neither the weather update nor the QuickGPS update. Whereas at home everything is fine. The proxy settings made by the administrator filter the acces to the update.
quite some time ago i somewhere found this to help (seems to be win xp prob):
lsp value to be added to xp registry!
Hi to all, this is my first post, sorry if I say something wrong.
I've a problem with weather plug-in, my hdspa/3g/edge/gprs internet connection is possible through a proxy server. All the other programs use this settings but the weather plugin in the package "HTC HOME" seems don't use this proxy and i can't use this feature.
However it work good through Wireless connection (without proxy).
Previous search on this forum about this problem don't have positive results in two posts some one talk about the same problem but there are not response on this question.
Thank's for any contribute.

anyone can help me?
here's what you need to do.. connect to the internet using active sync... and then (you should not use proxy for this one) run ie go to google then update your weather plug-in in your "htc home" by clicking/choosing the weather icon on your trinity... oh before i forgot on options tab put a tick mark on all the tick boxes then exit and save ...cheers

So.....is this supposed to enable you to use the proxy now or are you just giving instructions on how to update the weather through active sync?
Updating through WiFi or Active Sync is not the problem. Weather updates are most useful when your on the go, hence, using the proxy. (T-Mobile web users)
thanks, i will try

Hello!
Can anybody help me with such question?
How to use GPRS-internet on my device while it is connected to the desktop with ActiveSync? It tries to connect only through ActiveSync not using GPRS, but the desktop uses proxy for internet, so for example weather application or mail application can't update their information.
Thanks
settings->connections->connections->advanced-select network
and choose your gprs account in both dropbox's

Thanks for the advise but it doesn't help
My HTC doesn't look at this setting and tries to connect through activesync, not gprs
