Enter Password after Boot - I dont know the password - Acer Iconia A500

Hey guys,
When I boot my A500 i cant unlock it because i have to enter a password. But i dont know the pw and i dont had set it up. The problem came with Lightspeed 1.05 But I can flash a new ROM, off course with full wipe, and nothing changes. I have to enter a password.
Any ideas?
Thanks

If it is just an unlock password, try using the password for the Google account you have it linked to. If it is looking for a different password, then it should give you an option to unlock it using your Google account info I thought?

If that doesn't work, do a hard reset.

Thanks that you answered, but off course i tried the Google Password. And it's wrong. About the Google Homepage is an Idea.
How should I do a hardreset? I cant do a full wipe with CWM Because i can't acces on /data.

Recovery Password-Protected

Can a dev make a recovery password protected?...so if somebody loose the phone nobody can flash a rom...that's possible?

Don't do that.
The dev can set it thru the google account ...same way if you forget the password or pattern to unlock your phone...you just put your google email and password and is unlock...that's a good suggestions ...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Unlock the bootloader and anything like that would be worthless.
If someone knows how to flash a rom then chances are they can re-flash a different, non password protected recovery. Sounds redundant unfortunately.

.......
That's the point ...make a password protected app or recovery or add that option when using superuser privileges....something...so nobody that isnt you,can flash a new rom or recovery thru any method without the correct password...and of course without unlocking the bootloader...I don't why somebody mention the bootloader when I havent ...

What they are trying to say is that it doesn't matter what kind of password protection or whatever else you put on your device. All someone who has gotten a hold of your phone has to do is unlock the bootloader, and they can flash whatever they want...

Factory Reset with CM7 not working

So I just got the HTC HD2 and it has CM7 loaded and it's awesome, but for some reason when I do a factory reset, it does not remove the previous owners gmail account and let me start from scratch. Is there something I am missing or what am I doing wrong. Love the large screen on this, and am probably getting the HTC Sensation as soon as it comes out (knowing that the devs will eventually hack it), but in the mean time, I would like to get rid of the status bar crap that says "last owner gmail did not sync" blah, blah blah!!! Please let me know what I can do to fix this.
Thanks
Youre supposed be in magldr and use ad hard reset there.

I have no idea what magldr is. Could you explain, and go to get there so I can?
Thanks
figured out what magldr was and did a reset from there and it still did NOT reset the phone! I give up.
Does it have clockworkmods? If so you could go into there by booting into mgldr and using adrecovery option and delete all the previous owner data from there.

Cant use my GTi9000 after installing an app.

I installed an app called Simply Lockscreen https://market.android.com/details?id=org.firezenk.simplylock When I locked my phone, the app crashed and keeps crashing when ever the app opens, unfortunatly, I accedentally clicked on make default.
All I get is either the plain glass lock screen and if I unlock, just a black screen with the bar at the top of the screen.
I went into recovery mode so that I could install F1 Galaxy S2 V6 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129404 but what I clicked on Wipe Data/Factory Settings, it keeps asking me for a password, which I do not know. If I click on Apply update from SD card, I get an error saying out of space.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Dave

I had tried that, however, it kept asking for a password whenever I booted the phone.
After some more hunting on the internet (about an hour and half) I read that if you keep putting in the wrong password, it goes away and bypasses it.
The phone is now working properly, Thanks for your help.

Password entry while in stock recovery O_o

So i was checking out the Sprint GSII today in the sprint store and it had a screen lock password on it so i figured some punk put a password on there. I proceeded to go into the stock recovery to do a data wipe and get rid of the screen lock too check out the phone. I navigated too the wipe function, confirmed it then... IT ASKED ME TO ENTER IN THE PASSWORD WHILE IN RECOVERY! The a keyboard came up and everything IN RECOVERY
This must mean you can run apks while in recovery? Can someone confirm the same thing on other GS2 versions by creating a screen lock password and trying to wipe cache or data on the stock recovery?
Maybe other devices can do this too, but ive NEVER noticed it. Does this make GUI's for recoveries possible with touch enabled to eliminate volume button abuse? If someone can figure out how sammy is doing it, that is. Because as far as i know, running an apk in recovery just flat out isn't possible.
^ Teamwin stole my idea, which I am perfectly okay with
If you have an screen lock password set then you need to enter it when using the recovery option.

so let me get you right here.... you went in to the sprint store and tried to hack the display model??? only to be asked for a password....

In so many words, yep.
My S2 does it so did my galaxy s. Samsung have designed it that way.

I've only ever had HTC phones til this nexus, HTC phones don't do it
Why hasn't a dev ever picked up the idea for a recovery GUI if you can run have touch enabled in recovery?
I tried to put password on my device, the international galaxy s2
., went to the recovery without any verification passwords?

I think it's good if your phone has a password and it was stolen, then the thief can't just wipe the phone, but if you ever forget that shyt, stresssss

You have a custom recovery, I'm assuming so it wouldn't have a lock.
Even if the thief couldn't wipe it from recovery, Odin would anyways. So I think its sorta pointless.

Even flashing a wipe firmware with repartition will not get rid of the password prompt.

Use the pin unlock screen and set a unlock pin. After try to flash a new firmware or wipe the device from recovery.

Dude you're using a custom recovery. It only works with the stock one.
Would be nice if the PIN is only needed power on, then it would be a nice security feature. But having to enter it everytime I use the phone is kinda annoying.
Of course, i use pattern lock if anything. Less annoying.
But the main point im trying to make, is that if a keyboard can run, why cant there be touch enabled GUIs for recovery?

Google Factory reset protection

I bought the Z1 for my nephew and in the first day of use he made a factory reset because the phone was crashing.. The problem is that my nephew doesn't remembers the email he created to enter the play store (he used a suggested one, and thought it wouldn't need it anymore!!! He has 14..). So now the phone is blocked by the google factory reset protection.. Can anyone help me to solve the problem!?
You have to enter recovery and wipe data. If you do not know how to enter recovery just google it and you wil find "how to"
