**First off, I am not responsible for anything you do from my post that messes your device.**
Screenshots in second post.
Noob questions will be ignored. Ok here we go.
Pre-requisites
1 - Working knowledge of how to flash via Odin (I ain't teaching ya)
2 - sdcard that has the bootloader fix, HC rom and any other needed files on it already (makes last couple of steps faster)
3 - The ROM from here
Instructions
1 - Backup your stuff.
2 - Backup your stuff
3 - Download the needed stuff from the attachments
4 - Download the needed Froyo (yep you read that right) rom to 'restock' the device from here and extract the enclosed tar file
** JJ7 ROM here for those that have reboot issues with the roto JME ROM. **
5 - Start Odin and select the downloaded .pit file for the PIT section and make sure re-partition IS checked
6 - Select the .tar file that your extracted from the Froyo rom download for the PDA section (it has an MD5 extension added to the end, you can remove it)
7 - Attach tab in download mode (power + volume down) and click the start button when Odin is ready and wait (about 3-5 mins)
8 - Allow tab to boot and click through welcome screens (don't worry about connecting to network or account or anything as it wont last) and take a trip down memory lane (mmmm Froyo) ... Done? Good, run the bootloader patch and patch if needed and reboot.
9 - Open Odin again and select the p1000-mck-r3-ext4-cwm.tar file from the attachments and add it to the PDA section, no .pit file this time
10 - Make sure re-partition IS NOT checked and connect your tab (in download mode) and click start and wait (30 secs) and tab will reboot
11 - Reboot will get stuck at bootlogo, power down and reboot into recovery (power + volume up) and the EXT4 conversion should start (you need an sdcard in the external slot) ... wait for it to finish, it will take a while, when done wipe data/cache/dalvik and reboot into Froyo once again and skip through the welcome stuff
12 - Reboot into recovery with the sdcard in the external slot and select "install from sdcard" -> "choose zip" and select the HC beta rom and flash it
13 - Flash a Froyo radio from this thread if you want the 3G working. (JK3 works well with my GT-p1000 from Bell)
14 - Reboot into Honeycomb goodness! Reboot again for good measure.
Have fun!!!
Credits due to the original devs of the files used here, roto, chainfire, [email protected] and anyone I missed. I did not make anything just found the right order to use them.

A little more info would be helpful. Is your tab GSM? What is happening instead?
Yes.when pressing power and volume up,there is after a few seconds a flah of frizzly colours across the screen and it get stuck with the boot logo.Tab can go in download modus, but not in recovery.
Also it doesn´t charge anymore (grey battery symbol).
Are you holding the buttons longer than needed maybe? Let go of both buttons as soon as you see it power on. As for your grey battery, leave your tab plugged into the wall charger for four hours then unplug, reenter download mode and start from scratch. Sounds like either you started to flash with little battery left or the CMW recovery didn't take and need to be reflashed.
Also you didn't specify or put it in your signature but you are using a GT-P1000 right? This si not for any Sprint or Verizon or even a LTAM verison, just ATT/Euro versions of the tab.
I'm kinda itchin to try this out. I've yet to download the roms though.
Just wondering, how's the current HC running on the gtab? (performance, battery-wise)
Can you be more specific ?? Dont undestand how to do nothing

Slim,
One thing that is special, is it will let those who want to use Google Body run it.
At this time GB does not run Google Body.
Other then those apps that are HC specific, your right.

That's the one I flashed yesterday. Follow the install instructions posted in the lithium miui thread.
No app drawer on miui, so using launcher pro. With launcher pro, the widgets are working, which weren't for some reason on the stock launcher.
Make sure you let your phone rest the full 8 and 4 mins, I don't know why but I did, and apparently it's important.
GPS also works, but I had to play with it to get it going.

Lets get this out of the way first. I am not responsible if you screw up your phone, but you are probably here because you already screwed up your phone. I have now been through this several times over the last few days. Some will say this process is overkill, but there is no denying that it always works, so please refrain from stating the obvious.
If you have installed or updated CM7/MIUI and lost your baseband, IMEI, or both, this should help you. Due to the amount of people currently having this problem, I would recommend this be stickied at least temporarily until things are straightened out, so people can find it easily.
For Windows only, I do not have a Mac.
Step 1 - Read the entire post and understand everything involved before you attempt this. This is a long ride, probably 30-40 minutes from start to end. This is not for new people, and will assume you have a certain amount of knowledge because you attempted to flash CM7/MIUI.
DO NOT SKIP OR SHORTCUT ANY STEP IN THIS PROCESS, UNLESS I SPECIFICALLY STATED YOU MET THE CRITERIA TO DO SO. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING THIS UNLESS YOU CAN REACH DOWNLOAD MODE AND RECOVERY USING BUTTONS WITH THE PHONE OFF!
Step 2 - Gather what you need...
1 - The AIO Vibrant Toolbox : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509
Install according to directions in the post. Donate to this guy. He spent alot of time making this easy for you to do.
2 - The old CM7 install files : http://www.mediafire.com/?gn4qoonoe3cjyp6
Unzip to a location that is easy to get to.
3 - The new version of CM7/MIUI you want to install, from the thread of your choice. Donate to the developer you are using, they spend alot of their free time making your phone better. They don't get paid for it, and they dont charge you for it.
4 - Your phone, with a full battery.
Step 3 - Odin to JFD and install Clockwork 2.x
1 - Fire up the AIO Toolbox. Do not connect your phone yet, but power it down and pull your battery. See that sticker under it that says IMEI? Write it down! You will be referencing it a few times throughout the process. Start Odin and select your pit and pda files, they should automatically come up if you are using the toolbox. Hold down your volume up and down buttons, and insert your USB cable, then insert your battery. You should go to download mode, and see Odin connect. Hit start and let it fly. Once it reboots, unplug your phone. Go to settings/about phone and you should have a JFD baseband. Hit status, and check your IMEI. See how it matches the one you wrote down? Yay! Move on to the next item. If it does not, you have some reading to do because you really screwed something up, and it is beyond my power to help you...
2 - Mount phone and put the following files on the root of the sd card:
vibrant-efsbackup.zip (if you already have a backup/efs folder on your sd card you do not need this)
cm7-vibrant-initial-20110224.zip
The zip file of the new CM7/MIUI rom you want to flash.
3 - Download ROM Manager and install clockwork recovery 2.x (if you already have the update.zip on your sd card, which you should, you can also skip this) and power down your phone.
4 - Boot into recovery using the 3 button method (holding volume up and down and power, releasing power when the word VIbrant appears on your screen), hit reinstall packages, you may have to hit it twice to get to clockwork recovery. Choose to install zip from sd card, and select vibrant-efsbackup.zip. Let it do its thing. Then select reboot, and when it does, check your sd card for a backup/efs folder. Got it? Good. Power down the phone. (Obviously, if you already have the efs backup completed, you could have skipped this step.)
Step 4 - Install Clockwork 3.x and Old CM7
1 - Fire up the AIO Toolbox. Do not connect your phone yet, but pull your battery. Start Odin and hit the pda button, select the file cm7-vibrant-initial-kernel.tar from the CM7 package you unzipped (Remember, in a place that is easy to find). THIS IS IMPORTANT - UNCHECK AUTO REBOOT!!! Hold down your volume up and down buttons, and insert your USB cable, then insert your battery. You should enter download mode, and see Odin connect. Hit start and let it fly. Once it is finished, pull the usb cable. With the download mode screen still on your phone, boot into recovery using the 3 button method. You should now be in clockwork recovery 3.x. Move on to the next item! If you did not get in, you can try to pull your battery, replace it and boot into recovery from there. If you still can't get there, you get to go where the people who do not properly follow instructions go... back to Step 1.
2 - In clockwork 3.x, choose factory reset, and let it do it's thing. Then go to mounts and storage, and format system, data, and cache. Choose install zip from sd card and choose cm7-vibrant-initial -20110224.zip. As it is installing, one of the last things you see should be "restoring efs". Hit reboot when finished, and boot into CM7. When it boots, make sure you toggle the lockscreen a couple times so it connects to service. Check baseband and IMEI again. Baseband should have changed, but it does not matter until we get to where we are going. IMEI still the same right? Awesome! Power down the phone, move to the next step! It's not? You my friend, get to meet all your other friends back at Step 1.
Step 5 - Installing what you really want...
1 - Boot into recovery using the 3 button combo. Do a factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced and wipe Dalvik cache. Choose install zip from sd card, and pick that shiny new version of CM7/MIUI you picked out. You are almost there. Flash it! Reboot, and when it comes back up, take note of what time it is and DO NOT TOUCH THE PHONE FOR 15 MINUTES. You have no idea the amount of bugs this squashes. After that, check the baseband and IMEI, even though you already know it is right anyway. If it is not, do i have to say it again? You know where you are going...
2 - Destroy the paper you wrote your IMEI on, you would not want that info in the wrong hands...
3 - Enjoy your new rom
FAQ:
Q: I did everything you said, and it did not work!
A: You either skipped a step, or did not stop at the point I told you you were screwed.
Q: No, seriously, I did everything you said!
A: Seriously, I have done this 5 times in the past 3 days, and it worked every time.
Q: I installed CM7 nightly #9,10,or 11 with this method, and I have no sound on calls. What gives?
A: These builds have known issues with in call audio. Flash CM7.1
Q: Once I am on CM7/MIUI, do I have to do this every time or can I update normally?
A: Once you are on CM7 or MIUI with the proper IMEI and a good baseband, you should be able to update via the rom posting instructions. If you decided to switch from CM7 to MIUI or vice versa, I would go back to this process to get your initial installation.
Q: I installed CM7.1 and then tried to go to MIUI, and lost everything again, what happened?
A: There are changes betweeen CM7 to 7.1 that have made this difficult due to compatability issues, which is why I recommend doing this process again if you want to switch between the two.
Q: I thought there was an easier way to do this, why so many steps?
Read the first paragraph of the post, but I guess that is also asking too much...

Just install the one you linked to, the one direct from miui.us.
The other Lithium one looks like it's customized, overclock kernal, stuff like that.
I disabled vodoo lag fix. I odin back to 2.1. Then I installed stock 2.2.
Then I followed the instructions exactly. Wipe dalvic cashe, format system/data/cache, wipe factory restore, etc etc.
Not sure if I had to install 2.2 first, but I did anyway since the install instructions were for upgrading from a 2.2 rom and not a 2.1 rom.
thanks for the help. I'm on MIUI now, just gotta wait the total 12 mins for it to settle down. ;P

You don't have to install via those long instructions anymore. Apparently those are outdated.
Just manually backup your /efs and keep a copy on your computer, just because everyone should have a copy of their /efs folder and nv_data.bin, otherwise if you run into trouble you can lose your IMEI.
Then follow these simple instructions as outlined by user nickmcminn60 for his Lithium MiUi rom, but it worked for the regular MiUi also:
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (For Lithium and SS-11 If you are on MIUI, CM-7 or a 2.2)
-Wipe Dalvik Cache
-Wipe Cache Partition
-Wipe Data/Factory Reset
-Format-System, Cache and Data (Located under "Mounts & Storage)
-Flash LE Lithium (EDIT by me samsungvibrant..OR THE STOCK VERSION OF MIUI could be flashed here)
-Fix Permissions
-Reboot and Let Settle For 8 Min
-Reboot again Let Set For 4 Min..
No need to do the longer install process you had mentioned in the prior post.

The only thing bugging me right now is battery life drains way faster than what i'm used to. I'll find out more on calibrating the battery/changing kernels etc.

From what I have seen Lithium is actually meant to be more of a development ROM for new features. The other ROM made by that developer is the SS series which is meant to be more of a daily driver (eg. more stable), and it has additional tweaks from the official MIUI release to try to achieve things like better battery life as well as a OC or UVable kernel.
SS can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1099533
and here:

Unrelated to the OP, but if you're using Launcher Pro you're missing out on one of the best aspects of MIUI: No App Drawer! Instead you organize your apps into folders on the Home page. It makes you wonder why there ever was an app drawer. Seems like a silly concept now that I've been using MIUI for a while.

Finally got my tab back and I am now thinking of flashing a custom from on to it. So I just wanted to know which is the best rom to install on my version P7500 and one that as the least problems. This will be the first time i have done this so how easy is it and what's the best way to do it with out effecting your flash count
I can suggest 2 different ROM´s.
Overcome v2.3.1, all is working, but is Honeycomb 3.2.
Or, when you not need the camera, use ICS 4.03.
(Camera driver is not available at the moment for ICS)
My favorite is AOKP, Version Milestone-4 and update build28.

Give the rom a change and flash it, you will see it is awesome,
but the custom ICS roms are also for daily use ready.
The only possibility to determine which rom is better for you,
is to flash it all.
You can not damage your TAB, and with Odin you can anytime back to stock samsung firmware, which were found on sammobile homepage.
Will this effect your flashcount

Samsung has already rolled out ICS for galaxy S II and the ICS for GT 10.1 is supposed to be released soon but soon is such a bad word to use since its always used to evade responsibilities!
Anyhow I am hopefully Samsung will push it out before end of Q2 as promised before but what saddens me is that the next Android Jelly bean is right around the corner yet all the companies are struggling to update their devices to ICS. Android's biggest problem as of right now is fragmentation and Google should look into it seriously!

Did you also flashed the correct file,
there are two full versions available?

First of all there is no way to avoid that 'flash count' thing...
Now, there is no need of rooting if u are going to flash a custom rom like ICS (preferably AOSP) or Overcome....coz they come pre-rooted...
1) Grab the latest odin flashable CWM recovery from http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/recovery/cwm5/p4/recovery.tar.md5
2) Flash the above downloaded CWM in the PDA section of Odin. in the Download mode (press the vol down button while turning on the tab...when two icons appear, press the vol up button and again confirm by the vol up)
3) Also Download the required Custom Rom .zip file and copy it to the SD card root of ur Tab..
4) Turn the tab off and while restarting again enter bootloader mode by keeping the vol down key pressed...now use the vol down key to navigate to the left icon nd use the vol up key to confirm...now u'll enter CWM recovery...
5) Use the volume keys to navigate...nd power switch to confirm.
6) Wipe user data...cache nd dalvik cache (in advanced)...
7) Now go to 'install zip from SD card' nd 'choose zip from sd card'
8) Now choose the zip file dat u copied earlier nd confirm...(if u flash ICS then u also hav to Flash Gapps without a reboot in between)
9) After everythng is done reboot your tab...nd ur done...
10) Enjoy....nd Happy Flashing..!!!

My number 1 complaint with the 10.1 is that i get finger ache trying to use the tab for an extended period
I just had a play with an IPAD and i'm SOOOO jealous how little you have to touch the screen to make it move etc
will a software update to JB or ICS improve the touch sensitivity of the tab?
Thanks

will a software update to JB or ICS improve the touch sensitivity of the tab?
Thanks

Yeah that's also an issue for me it's responsiveness for touch are not that great...
Hope they fixed this with project butter since it guess where are you gonna touch the screen and react milliseconds before the touch happens

I agree, hopefully Project Butter on JB will solve it.
If you are rooted or know how to, try this.
ICS sensitivity and responsiveness is night and day over HC..
But now after running JB, it is night and day over ICS

and do i need to bother with clockwork thing? or just follow the above tutorial?

Yeah I know what you mean but the best advice is read everything and you need to be prepared for issues and dig under the bonnet so to speak.
This is off topic so don't ask anymore about root here
yes cmw is required which is recovery and Backup everything.
Lots of posts scrolling screens and I used the recovery from here using Odin to flash. http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/
guides here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462961

So back on topic, I really want the smoothness! and
I've read that build is alpha, but are you happy it's stable enough?
smooth scrolling will be amazing, but a tab that keeps crashing is a lot more annoying and I will wait a while otherwise
Otherwise i'll go for the root, and then install that app mentioned above
Cheers for all your advice guys

Latest build is up and mine is WiFi only this is suitable for daily use. JB mixed in with CM 10 is really smooth and once Samsung puts out the drivers for camera 3G etc this ROM really does make the tab buttery smooth. Things are so much more fluid. JB ROM has given my tablet and experience as good as the iPad 2. There are things to fix and alpha meet early days but the dev has worked really hard on this and to a lot of us forgotten by Samsung tab owners a huge WOW.
Great, I want to try this
Can I ask, does CM mean clockwork mod or cyanogen mod?

Cyanogen is CM 9 or CM10 whole ROM

Usually, clockwork mod is abbreviated by CWM and cyanogen mod is abbreviated by CM
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda app-developers app
1. Download Odin from available threads
2. Download a recovery for Odin flashing (like cwm), be sure to get the correct one for your tab (if you have WiFi only its 7510 or p4wifi, for 3g its p4 or 7500)
2.a you can start downloading the ROM you want right now as well, so you don't have to wait later on.
2.b download appropriate gapps (for ICS or jb)
3. In Odin make sure nothing besides the auto reboot and the thing the right if it is checked
4. Put your tab in download mode: turn it off. Turn it on while holding volume down, you'll get a screen with two icons on it. The right one should already be selected so press volume up to select, if not then press volume down to switch then volume up to check. The tab will tell you to press volume up to continue, do it. Congrats, now you are in download mode.
5. Connect your tab to your computer. One iPod the empty squares above should turn yellow and something written in it*
6. Click PDA for file selection. Select the recovery.tar.md5 you downloaded.
7. Press start, when finished your tab should reboot.
8. Get the downloaded ROM on the tab, however you wish.
8.a backup everything you want backed up. Photos mucpsic and other stuff won't be deleted if its on the "sdcard"
9. Turn off tab. Turn on again while holding volume down.
10. Enter recovery by pressing volume down then using volume up to select (you want the left icon)
11. Navigation in CWM: volume keys=up/down, power button=confirms selection
You want to wipe data, wipe cache and then to into advanced and wipe dalvik cache, return to the top
14. Select apply update, select choose zip, find ROM you downloaded, confirm.
14.b sometimes it might not be best to flash gapps at the same time as ROM, so it may be better to reboot phone then when started reboot again into recovery then flash gapps like you flashed the ROM.
For future ROMs only 8+ is needed, sometimes 8a and wiping data in 11 is not needed, this is usually for small updates of the same ROM (like cm night lies) however you can always try not to wipe data then if you have problems reboot into recovery and do the three wipes.
* if nothing turns yellow make sure you have drivers. You can install lies to get drivers(but make sure no lies process is running when you start odi ) or search for drivers and download them
The touch sensitivity is much better but still has its moments but that could be the ROM its self
WARNING ONLY FOR GSM WARNING
I am not responsible for the bricked tabs, backaches, heart attacks or seizures which you may encounter while following these instructions. Do these at your own risk. And this guide is only for gsm galaxy tab GT-P1000 and not any other model.
I found that many people wre facing problems while flashing ics roms on their galaxy tab GT-P1000, so I thought of writing this detailed guide.
First upgrade to a stable build of Gingerbread 2.3.3. Do not use the GB stock safe package from overcome.
Then download this file:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/g-uW6vGt/...Q1-v33-CW.html
Extract it.
Download odin3 v1.7:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821625
Then open odin3 v1.7
Select CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.zip as PDA
Turn off your tab.
Boot into download mode by holding vol down button and power button together.
Connect your tab to your computer.
Wait for the COM:ID button to glow yellow.(DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING ELSE)
Start flashing.
Wait for the COM:ID to show “PASS”
Download Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_NoWipe_3.zip:
http://www.ravishare.com/1fragzl971e6/Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_NoWipe.zip.html
Then transfer Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_NoWipe_3.zip to the your tab.
Turn off your tab.
Boot into recovery mode by holding Vol up and power button together.
Use volume keys to navigate and power button to select “Install zip from sd card” and then “Choose zip from sd card”.
Select Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_NoWipe_3.zip.
Select yes.
Wait for flash to complete.
Reboot your tab.
Now download the ics roms like stimpz0r’s AOKP or cdesai’s Cyanogenmod and flash them via recovery.
You have now successfully upgraded your tab to ICS.
Press the thanks button.
And good news. Upgrading to Jellybean does not require you to flash Overcome.
Hi Gogol.
I know you always recommend against using overcome stock safe.
Which gb do you recommend then?
And this guy got his tab into bootloop following your method until he tried overcome gb stock safe and saved.

Well, the problem is that the bootloop occurs if the cwm i mentioned is flashed in the firmware of gb stock safe package. so i recommend against it
Well, you can upgrade to gingerbread by this method:

If you get stuck in any of the above steps, follow this method to go to stable gingerbread with bml partition.

That means some people on a stable GB will get boot loop using cf method.
Unless you can list all known gb that is unstable... jq1 now in your first.
I still think overcome guide is 100% solid.

Hi! I have installed AOKP SGT7 - Build 40 using this instructions. The ROM installed fine without problems. However i found out that that i want to revert back to Overcome ROM. I tried to install it via Clockwork Recovery and it installed fine. The problem comes when i try to boot after installation.
After boot, the screen show only the AOKP lauch screen and the tablet doesn't boot.
Do i have to do the flashing with ODIN before attempt to install Overcome ROM again ?

Overcome is GB(Gingerbread) Based ROM while AOKP is ICS(Icecream Sandwich).......
Maybe this is causing errors ie; the sources are different.......
Maybe you need to Repartion using odin with correct pit file and Overcome Stock Safe

I had overcome rom for several months and want to try cm9.
I flashd it as guided and all was fine til 1 hour or so after the flashing, then entered in endless booting.
I restocked several times and flashed the rom and had the endless booting problem again and again.
Only when i used the stock safe 5 from overcome i solved it and now cm9 runs ok. No bootings so far and i did it 2 days ago. The only thing is that wiped my internal storage, but i have tons of backups.
Overcome links do not work, at least i couldnt download from overcome page.
But as a cautious girl as i im, i have all the files in my pc. So , if anyone needs them or want to put them for download, junt send me a pm or an email. I dont know if it shows, so: [email protected]

Actually yes, using that pit file. The reason is, cm9 is mtd, while overcome is ext4. you can go from ext4 to mtd, but not back. the only way is reverting to bml using the pit file, and then flashing overcome

Jellybean or Ice cream sandwich on Ideos S7
Here is the step by step guide for the joy (of course for the newbies).
Say thanks to goodoane, asturel, luisrene88, Jota, dzonikg , tri_zet*
and many for this.
1. Go here : http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...ical/15812-rom-tri_zet-ideos_s7-slim-mod.html and download the zip file :S7_trzmod-v3.zip
2. Then go here : http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...recovery-ideos-s7-classic-cmr-v6-0-1-2-a.html and download this recovery image: CM recovery.img
3. Now rename this recovery image to recovery-trzmod3.img and replace that with the image file of same name in S7 trzmod-V3.zip
4. Now unzip it in computer and now you are ready for flashing recovery by running update.cmd.
5. Next visit this page http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...yanogenmod-9-s7-slim-alpha-21.html#post237650 and download the boot images cm9 boot image from http://www.share-byte.net/yJkZ6X and cm10 from http://www.share-byte.net/cQhhFq
6. Then go on to http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...al/45329-rom-cyanogenmod-9-s7-slim-alpha.html and download the latest roms in zip files from the link http://www.asturel.hu/cm9_s7/
7. Now rename the cm9 boot image to just boot.img and replace that with the boot image in cm9rom. Repeat this with the cm10.
8. Also download the latest respective google apps from the links in http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version/Google_Apps
9. Now copy the roms and gapps zips to your internal sd card
10. Turn on usb debugging and connect ideos to pc. Run the update.cmd in the trzmod v3 folder.
11. First install the adb huawei drivers
12. Then install the recovery ie. The altered ere ics recovery we have replaced initially
13. Reboot to recovery and exit the cmd
14. Disconnect from the pc and do factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache in advanced
15. select install zip from sd card and then choose zip from sd card. Choose cm9 or cm10 as you wish
16. you have it.
Whatever happens to your tab is your business. Read this threads in detail about ups and downs of each rom and check on latest boot image kernels.

2. http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...l/46180-rom-cyanogenmod-9-s7-105-testing.html
