lol 1st if you're on a stock 3.2, you can't load any other ROM unless you downgrade first (directions in the DEV forum).
2nd you're going to have to load CWM before you can flash to another ROM. The stock recovery will NOT allow you to flash custom ROMs. Do some reading in the DEV forum before you brick your device!

When I first became active, I rooted my phone, I made a recovery off the original recovery rom. I updated to the what my phone says is the unofficial modaco rom v1.3 + an update
+ a theme.... bu then me and my girl split and my recovery images were on a flash device she had. I see some stuff about an updated version of recovery... talk of radio's amongst other things.
I'm assuming I just most likely need to flash back to an original root and then possibly the instructions I need to get the new recovery image as well as the 2.0 stuff on my phone. <--- is this basically what I need to do???

Flash a new recovery....fisrt things first
Then do factory data wipe from recovery.
You should probably reformat your SD card...
Wipe Dalvik....
then flash any of the good ole' zips that are up now..
Personally before I do any more flashing I am waiting on sprint release OR this new "Toasts Awesome Sauce" I see in another thread...if it blows everyone else away speed wise....I hope they got OC working.
Only reason I am waiting for an official sprint is because I am sick of wiping my phone ~ to lazy to back up ~.

You don't have to install the new recovery to flash the 2.x ROM's. However, the new RA 1.6.2 was updated and had some bugs fixed, with also a little more added features, so it's probably worth your time to download and flash.
To flash a 2.x ROM, just do as you did before, find one you think you might like, download it and then copy it to your SD Card, after that its a matter of Nadroid back up and then flashing the new ROM.
thanks for the heads up guys.
I just couldn't be sure if there were things that needed to be changed outside of just flashing the new roms.
Back when i was more active I recall there being some roms that you couldn't flash from but a factory reset will revert me out of my modoca flash so that, that problem doesn't potentially crop up?
Hi there!
I've been searching and looking for any other posts with the problem I have. And I've come up with nothing..
This is my situation; Rooted my HTC Hero (EU) and flashed Eclair Vanilla 4.0 just days before the release of the original update from HTC.. Wanted to go back to the original ROM, followed the instructions and this is where it all breaks down.
It doesn't work and now I've lost the Amon RA bootloader and I can't boot it up, all though the Eclair Vanilla boots up if you boot the phone. Recovery boot doesn't work, been trying with several methods i.e. Goldcard method.. But no luck. And I've even tried the RUU program and it didn't find the connection on the USB but when I boot the phone in to Fastboot it can find it :/
And now I'm hoping that someone here on XDA could help me, since users on Swedroid forums doesn't know how to answer a post.
I'd really like to have some help, thankfull for every advice and I really hope I can fix this since the Eclair Vanilla 4.0 ROM really sucks and drains my battery.
Sincerely yours
Andreas
Download ROM Manager from the market made by Koush, open the app and flash his recovery image. Once this is done, re-open the app, scroll down and click the flash alternate recovery image (Amon_Ra-v1.6.2). It happened to me not long ago to lose my recovery image and I did this and it all worked ok!
As for returning to the original ROM well sorry bud but I can't help you with that!
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Okay, the only one I found was from some ClockworkMod guessing that would work too.. Imma try that one out
If you want to go back to unrooted ROM. I think this should work.
- Download the appropriate (EU) RUU ROM
- connect your phone to your PC
- flash the official ROM from your PC
That didn't work since it didn't find the USB Connection, but the ROM Manager did work! And I'm flashing HTC_HERO_WWE now.. Thank you sooo much kukussi! You made my life so much easier now!

In Device Manager, right-click on HTC Bootloader, Update Driver..., Search on Hard Disk, and choose "My HTC".
RUU will now recognize the phone
no problem!

Itried different way by the forum to unroot but seem doesnt work
- I wiped data and davin then flash the PC36IMG for 147.651.1 - Nothing
- Cyanogen6 doesnt have HTC Sync which i cant use the RUU STOCK.exe , i tried alone and giveme errors 171 and 140
- I followed step by step by this forum (Bottom) http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=123714 and i cant go after step 5L because show # (rooted) and not $(not rooted), I think that why
Please any suggestion to get back in stock in a easy way. I need bring back to sprint tomorow or after for exchange
thanks in advanced.

What you mean flash a sense?, Sorry for the Noob question.
Got a xda link to follow?
Some ROMs include Sense in them...that is HTC's overlay (launcher). Some ROMs don't. CM's does not have Sense in it.
So...if you are still rooted...flash Fresh's ROM since the other poster says it includes Sense. Then go from there.
(I am only interpreting and you'll need to go find Fresh in the dev section.)

Let me know if it works for you please.

As Nick.C has pointed out CWM = ClockWorkMod Recovery. Im assuming this is the method you are using to flash your builds.
I did not mean for u not to use task29 at all. Follow the steps below and all should be well.
1. Task29 to remove Windows Phone 7
2. Flash official WM6.5 Build (DO NOT Task29)
3. Download and use SD Formatter 3.0 to format SD Card. Set option to Full Erase and Size adjustment to ON.
4. Install MGLDR 1.13
5. Flash CWM
6. Flash your favorite android build.
just to be sure...after flash official rom...i think i need to hspl before flash maglrd
i know i should read mag installation guide...but...im stuck in highway and im too lazy to find it hehehe

If you have flashed custom roms before, then you already have HSPL installed, because u cant flash custom roms without it. HSPL is always there until you remove it, even if you flash an official or custom rom.
To flash MGLDR - Boot into the boot loader screen (Multi Color Screen) and then flash MGLDR
To flash CWM - Boot into MGLDR and select usb flasher then flash CWM. Some chefs have there own custom CWM so read there instruction so u will know if you will use the original CWM or their version.
sd card block size?
Thread moved to Q&A.
After you flash the rom you are stuck on the bootload, probably flash the kernel 710th
Wipe everything and flash rom again without kernel 710 because it does not work.
google Translate
If you don't insist on Sense ROM, I strongly recommand that you change to Froyo Dragon. SFM is always too slow for me, compared with Froyo Dragon.
But if you indeed prefer Sense, then I would suggest you change to Hintay Magic 0.5, which is also a nice ROM
i have a really big problem .
i do have this rom, and used it for some time .. but i wanted to flash another rom, and i cannot seem to get into recovery.
i dont know what the heck is going on.
i got rom manager installed, clicked, flash recovery, and then selected reboot into recovery ..
it does not show the ! sign or anything.
just the "Vodafone" logo with red background.
even tryed adb reboot recovery though adb, but nothing.
what can i do ?
As many others would say, maybe you should list more about your device here.
People are willing to help, but the information you put down here is way too little.
Your device is 32A? What Radio? Which Recovery?
Even if you have different settings as SFM requested, you're probably still able to install the ROM, but this might be where the problems are.
