what does it fix cosmetic or software issues ??? 802.11g maybe???

just completed the update, no noticable differences except it is damn fast!!!! Would be interested to know what the official differences are though.
It's just the version that shipped with the UK devices.

Same experience, no noticable difference but it's alot faster then the dutch shiped ROM. And much more stable too.
I'm liking it so far.
Edit: Found a new program called streaming video, not 100% sure if i had this on my Vario when I bought it. :?

It is on mine, Rom dated 09/29/05.
If I can find links to this new rom from the official uk tmobile homepage then I will be installing it today.
Can anyone say if the 802.11G problem (or lack of support) is addressed in this update?
Which rom would you people recommend - this T-Mobile ROM or the I-Mate K-Jam Rom? any opinions?

Although the rom version is updated to 1.6.2.4. (WWE), the rom date is from 11/15/05.
But it's working like a charm.
Hi everyone i'm really new to the wizard but still wanna have my device up to date. I'v had the Vario for a week now and my ROM version is: 1.3.2.2 ENU and the ROM date is 9/29/05. I have downloaded this new ROM but should i update my VArio with it or not. I cant really tell if i need to or not. Sorry for bein a noob just too new to all this. Thanx to all replies.

It's entirely up to you. If you're current Rom is working well, upgrading isn't really necesarry. I was having alot of problems (constant lockups, slow, etc) with the dutch Rom I got when I bought it. Thats why I removed the CID lock to install an alternative Rom.
So far there arent any Roms out with major updates for increased hardware performance, these should come out late jan/begin feb and I read T-Mobile won't bring one out till late march.
Been trying the WWE T-Mobile rom since last night, and it's still working great. Haven't had time to install my applications yet, but it's allready alot faster and more stable then the Q-Tek (Dutch and WWE), i-mate and O2 Rom's i've tried.

thanx for the reply. so is the rom that i've downloaded newer than the one that i hvae. Beacuse a few posts above it says that the Rom is the same as the ones in UK Vario's. So just wanted to make sure i wasnt updating my vario with the same Rom as i downloaded. if that makes sense.

I downloader this rom 1.6.2.4 and upgrade my dopod838 and id currently stuck or froze at bootloader screen with ERROR 294 INVALID VENDOR ID
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP....SOS WHAT MUST I DO.

I tried the MaUpgradeUt noID to replace the RomUpgrade file without success with message ...The application has failed to start because RUU.dll was not found.....

Well it seems to work ok. Can't see much difference yet, but it feels a bit faster to me.

you will need to soft reset your device. To install this ROM on your device you will need to use the lokiwiz program, then you can install the file to your phone.

I wonder if going back to the TMO version would help any? My QTEK came with this:

It seems a bit poky, and battery life seems horrible
I have a Rogers HTC Touch and I downloaded the cooked 6.1 upgrade from the forums. I also installed the CID unlocker. I ran the CID unlocker which went fine. I then did the install of the 6.1 ROM which went through no problems.
Now my phone does random reboots. I've tried doing hard resets and everything....the phone still does random reboots and I have no idea why.....Can anyone here help me? has anyone else had any problems like this? is there something I did wrong?

I had the same problem with my rogers phone until it just quit working (locked up on the color screen). Good thing I backed up my ROM and my data.
Would you be able to hook me up with a copy of the Rogers ROM by any chance?? I didn't know how to back up the current ROM so i never got a chance to.
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

yeah if you have the original rom for the rogers touch I would benefit from having that available as well.
I foolishly didnt back up the rom before i started and now i'm using a asia rom

Just visited the htc website and they have available a rom upgrade for the telstra hd2 ... just wondering if anyone has downloaded and installed this upgrade? Is it better?

I have installed it. No problems and it works.
Unfortunately it contains all the Telstra bloatware.
Haven't played around with it too much but first impressions are that it seems much smoother than when I first used the original rom.
I've downloaded the upgrade from HTC Australia twice now and each time I run it I'm told that the package couldn't be verified and may be corrupted. I've tried the Asia and Europe sites? Anyone else have that problem?

So to a question which may or may not have been asked before, So apologise in advance if it has.
I have just purchased the HD2 from a trading newspaper in my area. I collected the phone from the guys home and it all looks fine and is fully operational (touch wood ) What worried me slightly was although the device looks like brand new (obviously well looked after)...But it came just the phone and a fake non htc charger...No Box or cables/manuals etc...
I am pretty much noob to everything to do with Flasing/Modding devices but wondered if there is a way of determining if the model i have got has already been modded.
The phone starts up with the 02 screen but it is unlocked and accepts my UK Orange sim. Just not sure if it has been infact flashed with any roms.

ROM and radio look stock to me. Since it's an 02 phone (I'm assuming UK) however you won't be able to update to the newest ROM yet unless you goldcard like I did recently, as 02 have not released their version of the 3.14 ROM still.

Ye am in UK. The goldcard is something i had heard as an option but admit id have to research into that some more...I did manage one time to flash a rom onto an orange San Fran device but for the life of me cant remember how Am sure tho that few beers and many shots helped (Not reccomended in hindsight)
So if it seems to be Stock 02 by following instructions here im guessing i should be ok to use an android rom on the SD?
I dont knowif this makes a difference but it sort of helps to know that its an unmodded device im starting with, wot with not knowing the phones history and what if anything has already been done

Upgraded wife's VF HTC Magic OTA to 2.2.1, but the update is draining the battery very fast and the phone is really slow. Many people have a problem with this.
Is there a way to root and downgrade to 1.6?
