I'm currently on super clean 1.0 and like it, I'm just the type of person that likes to try everything that's out there. Thinking about trying this black hole rom once I learn more about it. Why do you guys run the rom you do over the other options out there?
Sent from the iPad, I know....
I ran superclean but i was like you and wanted to try blackhole. So i switched really easy just loaded from rom manager did a wipe data/cache for good measure. Its really nice.
They are both basically the same except that black hole is more customizable, being that you can go to rom manager and get additional stuff from sonofskywalker3.
I am sticking with blackhole for now, but superclean to be sure was awesome too great job by all the devs.
Running blackhole 4.01 with superdark theme very nice.
Stock, manually debloated.
There's a few stock apps and components that I like which are usually removed from the cleaned roms, and there's a few AOSP apps added to the cleaned roms that I don't care for. So for me, it ends up the same amount of work starting with a clean rom and removing and adding what I want than if I just start with stock and remove what I don't like.
I'm Running blackhole 4.01 with superdark theme. But my question is, why do I not have a clock in the Notifications window? I did on DL09 rooted... What gives?
Sorry guys, I'm pretty new to the whole rooting procedures, a co-worker that I worked with rooted my phone, I'm just slowly trying to learn and understand how it all works

The theme you are running more than likely removed the clock.

Also after loading blackhole 4.0.1 froyo, I get a "Google Talk authentication failed" error? Any ideas as to why. Thank you in advance
You could probably get answers faster in the rom's thread under development... I'm gonna try black hole tonight....
Blackhole with Midnight Theme. Looks great and always liked blackhole from since 2.1.
I'm running Blackhole 4.0.1 both for the ease of use with ROM Manager and for it's combustibility. Sonofskywalker seems to go out of his way to provide options.
superclean 1.0 with superdark.
i was running superclean for dl09 so sticking with that as i have not had any issues and phone is fast and theme looks great
Whose running Rubik? What's the deal with that rom?
superclean 1.0
I'm about to flash Rubik. Been on stock with removed bloat and trying different themes. So far I've tried the GB theme and the touch of blue which I love aside from the circular battery thing. I prefer the stock battery icon for some reason.
DL09 - Leaked 2.2 Rom (removed what i wanted) worked better for me
Superdark theme
I tried clean 1.0 - started adding and removing so moved backed to leaked rom
I will stay with what I have until kernals start rolling out!!
Rubix.03
Flashes it first and removed the few things I didn't want and like it so far.

Hey I also installed the superdark theme before recently installing midnight 1.2 which is awesome. If I remember correctly for superdark there were different links for the theme and one of them had the clock put back in. I remember having a clock when I installed the theme, you should look over the thread for that theme.

I love the stock battery icon as well. Let us know what you think of Rubik. I've been curious for awhile now, but it's not as talked about as other roms.

I'm digging Rubik so far. It's snappy. The GB theme is really well done as well. A few things were removed that I miss, but that's what I keep the DL30 leak on my SD card for. I'm gonna try flashing the touch of blue theme over this ROM and see if I get any FC's. But I'm loving this so far, definitely recommended.

Since some of you have bad luck with OC kernels, I decided to build a non-OC kernel but still with a few features..such as UV support (no OC), Voodoo Lagfix and Sound..etc..
Think of this kernel as SP-Voodoo for 2.3.4
This Kernel is an i9000 sourced 2.3.4 kernel for I9000 Gingerbread JVP
This kernel is built off of Xcals Reorient v2.0 and is only tested on JVP!
As always, flash at your own risk, im not responsible for any damages!
Get support at #suckerpunch
Latest sources can be found on Github
Remember, I cant fix stupid or lazy. Please read the whole OP and the first and last 5 pages of this thead!
Custom Boot Animations
The bootanimation.zip needs to be /system/media/sanim.zip <- notice the name change
To install:
Flash .tar with Odin/Heimdall
If using Odin place tar in PDA slot
Enable/Disable Voodoo Lagfix in CWM->Voodoo
Delete Voltage Control settings in CWM->Advanced
Kernel Features
Voodoo Lagfix
Voodoo Sound v9
339MB RAM
BLN support
Uses Gamma 2.2
Speedmod Color Fix
Ondemand Governor
Smartass/Interactive Governor
Custom CWM3 (from Talon)
Wired Headset Support
Audio Dock Support
Battery Polling set to 60s
Set Light Sensor Polling to 1s
Security Fixes from FuguMod Kernel
Updated to latest Samsung source
Fixed KTLO with new Samsung source
UV support up to 1ghz (no OC)

Lol..yea i might stick with that name..not sure yet. I didnt want it to come off the wrong way, it was not directed towards anyone but me.. I simply cherry-picked things from what we had already done with Talon, but i might end up using it.. Vivified is working on a boot image, just wanted to get it released, will brand it in the next version
Interesting

Presently running it on Continuum 5.6 for those who might be interested..
Use ODIN - no reboot - clear dalvik, etc to avoid issues
seems to work great.. no BT problems or wifi issues as yet with 5.6

Yea it might be black on first boot...Xcal has an explanation on his thread about it, but after first boot bootanimation will work
Also, yea there will be no BT issue with this one, the problem was from Chainfires initramfs...we have also updated Talon to use Voodoo lagfix/initramfs..will be in next version of Talon

JVP-Voodoo 1.0.0 is SUPER STABLE AND SMOOTH!
Hello. I'm just wondering if there's a way to get the CRT off animation and the overscroll effect on the GB 2.3.5 update. I know most people probably use CM7, MIUI, or some other rom instead of stock, but I'm one of those (odd) people who like to keep it at stock because everything works like it should.
Thanks.

You need a custom kernel to do that, which you can't use with the stock ROM
You can use GeeWiz which is pretty darn close to stock, with some stuff you'll be like, "man, I always thought it should do that"
---
I spoke too soon, you can do CRT On & Off with root access:

well u need a custom rom, not kernel (guessing that was a typo)
geewhiz has crt screen off in it...but i dont think it has overscroll glow in the eh03 version
superclean has both
I flashed the eh03 acc battery mod with stock kernal stock rom just have root
and I have The crt off and battery percent in the top and it works great
HERE is Where I got it

My nexus 7 is rebooting after a while using trinity kernel. I'm in stock 4.2.1 and I had random reboots even when no it applying any kind of OC just the kernel's default settings! What can I do to prevent that from happening?
Flash a different kernel.
Not all tablets are created equal. Whereas one will play nice with a particular kernel, the very next one off the assembly line may not.

i bet its an app causing it.
Don't know why I initially glanced over you being on 4.2.1. Random reboots are actually a known issue with 4.2.x due to a problem at the OS level. Essentially, anything that uses geolocation can inadvertently trigger a reboot. Apps such as HD Widgets have updated to use a workaround until Google themselves fixes the issue. In the meantime, the only certain way to avoid the reboots is to turn off location services or downgrade to 4.1.2.
Unfortunately, this bug isn't consistently reproducible, but it does affect the entire Nexus line of devices using 4.2 and 4.2.1.

Thanks buddy, with motley kernel I've just had 1 reboot. I'm going to test turning location services off and see what happens. BTW any idea how to oc the GPU in motley kernel? in trickster mod there's no option for it.

is ocing the gpu enabled in motley kernel? it has to be a feature of the kernel to be able to do it, an app cant do it if the kernel doesnt include the mod.

the kernel might use a different method than the one the app "knows". for an example, cm color control with trinity kernel on the gnex. both cm and trinity have color control enabled, but since cm uses a different method of color control, you cant use the native cm rom color control option with trinity kernel, nor can you use the trinity kernel toolbox to control color on a cm rom/kernel. as they say, theres more than one way to skin a cat.

honestly i dont, id assume that motley used francos method since thats the most popular way. you should probably ask in the motley thread. but for some reason, i dont think it does, not the 4.2.1 kernel at least. maybe he just didnt update his op to reflext this. ask in the thread anyways
Does any one know how to remove this?
Thanks for looking

custom ROMs are the only way, AOKP and CM have a setting in sound that you uncheck, it's something like safe volume limit or something.
If you need to maintain a mostly stock ROM (in that all hardware works) you can try stock based ROMs like Romswell 4.0.4 (he seams to have removed it) or try a JB stock based and see if its gone.

Well PA is similar to AOKP and CM so it may have the same setting, you'll just have to look for it.
