Hi. I have an T-Mobile HD2 without overheating issue detected yet.
I had WM 6.5 for a long time with everything working just fine.
Then I've tried to flash a custom Android 2.3.5 with Sence 3.0 ROM via cLK loader with latest recovery.
And after that I could not turn the Flash on in camera/camcorder/flashlight.
Then I've flashed a custom WM 6.5 again. The same result. Every other feature is working at the first glance (maybe there are other issues).
It's mostly likely a hardware problem but maybe there are some software advices to make a diagnosis?
Thank you in advance!
Is battery over 20% as in WM6.5 it turns flash off on low power
Reg key to overide this is HKLM Drivers/BuiltIn/Battery , keyname is FlashLightPowerUnavailable , Value 1 is flash deactivated value 0 is flash active.
Hopefully something simple & not hardware ...
Sorry, just forgot to write that I've charged the battery to 100%.
I'm trying to restore an original SPL maybe it helps.
But thank you very much for best wishes!

I seem to be having a problem with all of the WM6.5 Polaris ROMs. Hoping someone can help!
I first noticed the issue with Gullum's Rom, though it is still present with Belial's and Pcarvalho's
Basically soft-reset doesn't work. It will result in a hard-reset almost always. It doesn't matter if i use the soft reset pinhole or whether i use a program on the Polaris to soft-reset the device; the result is always the same - a hard reset.
In all circumstances I flashed the rom, waited until the screen alignment, hard reset (on purpose), then configured the phone.
Originally I thought the issue was because of pimbackup getting stuck sometimes and me resetting during that but it seems that even if I do not use PIM backup the phone will still hard reset it self.
The only thing that I can see being common is that the roms are all WM6.5 and all build 23016. When I downgrade to 3LIT3III (WM6.1 rom) the problem seems to go away - though I would prefer the 6.5 roms.
My phone has been flashed lots of times over the past 18 months and maybe something weird has happened. My next steps are to reflash the latest official HTC ROM in the hopes that fixes any weird things my phone might have before I try again.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate them!
Thanks,
Dom

Hi, I've done that and so far it all appears stable... but I'm worried that by saying this I've now jinxed myself
Thank you for your suggestion! If only 'Microsoft My Phone' could restore text messages faster than 1 every 3 seconds... 3500 to go!

Exactly the same for me. Have tested the "[10 Aug] WM23016_MEGAPACK_ByBelial_BETA, "[Aug 14] PDAVIET ROM WM6.5 Manila 2D (Core 21840) by TranMinhMan" and"pcarvalho eXtreme ROM 3.19 WM6.5 OS 5.2.23009" and all of them was very unstable with 3 to 5 HR pr day.
Then flash to 3LIT3III (WM6.1 rom) and it vent solid as a rock.
I'l test flashing back to original before installing 6.5 again. Thanks for the tip.
I've noticed the same problem too and this tip fixed it (so far). My sequence of flashing is slightly different but the usual suspects were all there. My question is, is it always better to flash original HTC ROM first before flashing a new cooked ROM? Or will it make no difference?

its always better as you will flash a rom to a standard rom...every device has/had an original rom to start with...so all settings are...reset
For sure
After a couple of days usage now the phone has not hard reset itself at all - which is awesome - as is your ROM (I'm using the non-3D 23106 build of yours and haven't noticed any issues that a 'soft' reset doesn't resolve )

Pcarvalho's suggestion of flashing an original HTC rom is perfect - works well.

i get that issue sometimes as well.. i found it worked ok after i made sure the in car bluetooth was automatically allowed to connect to anything it needs.. followed by a soft reset.. should only be the once though
Ok this is interesting. I had never had this problem but now I have flashed to Flashmores latest and the ROM is great and fast (and yes I did hard reset after flashing) but now I have this problem.
When I'm in a call none of the touch keys work. Cant access the keypad or anything. Really annoying.
I have to use the hard key to kill the call.
Any thoughts?
Oh and I dont have a bluetooth headset!
GG
It's independent on Bluetooth and same problem is with hardware- and software- keys (buttons).
I have the same problem...Which ROM versions do you have? mine problems started after flashing ROMs from TMOUS...so versions 1.7 to 2.10...I will revert back to older ROMs...
I think this problem was also in stock ROM about 1.42..
Hi guys,
For those problems, I advice you to do these steps in order whenever you want to flash a ROM (stock, shipped, cooked ROM). If you want the stable ROM for daily usage... just flash the shipped ROM
-Choose Clear Storage in you current ROM.
-Take out your SD card and Format it by (FAT32)
-Connect your Device to PC and do a MTTY... You can read this for more details (do it in careful way)
-Then Flash the Shipped ROM 1.66 I suggest the 1.66.405.2 WWE.
-Do not hard reset after flash... I mean let your device through the "Customization" first then just skip all setting and Reset the device. While the device is getting reboot... Do a hard reset
-Setting up all things.
Hope this help
it doesn`t work I think this problem is according to radio ROM. I will flash another...
i had this problem yesterday and have fixed it
ceratin roms are only compatible with certain radios
for example yesterday i installed SONE 2.5 and i couldnt make calls, it would freeze
i looked at the ROM requirements and i was using a radio not supported by the ROM
simply change the radio respectively to the ROM
This problem, which I'm describing, is something other. RADIO patch is okay (I think), but phone is "slow" during phonecall and phonecall cannot be hanged out..
I am using stock winmo HD2 Rom (the october 2010 ROM Update for EU) with 2.15 radio version.
So far have tried all 3 of Mdeejay's roms with different kernels. Each time with sd slow format. yet still i will try the rest to confirm the problem exists.
So on the first load of any of the version's i've tried android boots perfectly, allows htc set up screens, runs amazingly smooth, fast, battery long lasting and so on (thanks to MDJ for all this), yet! i've seen many people have the same problem: After some random time (maximum of a few minutes) the phone reboots automatically thus taking you back to winmo.
So.... any clues?
SOLVED
hey... I had to found the solution on my own....
as usual.
It seems to be something related to the sim card. You have to unable from winmo the pin of your SIM.

reboot problem
hey i have a similar problem,
would want to know how u solved it with m-deejay roms, although
the problem does not seem to happen with Sergio core series android rom though atleast on my hd2 ...i am using Sergio core series wm rom with m-deejays 1.6 revolution rom...what wm rom, radio and android rom combo are u using at present?
thanks
well i have that issue from the beggining i stated using android
i had never a pin on my som card... but after 10 reboots the phone will boot just fine
will try to boot without sim (A)
Android reboots because there are process working on background on Windows mobile.
Turn off your HTC sense on WM, and try a boot loader that allows you to boot your Android within 3 seconds of windows start up.
and before doing all of this, Format your SD to FAT32 .
this idea i will try, because i never had a pin enabled anyway...so turn off winmo senses?
hi,
i have some VERY annoying bugs with this ROM :
1-/ The hour, in the clock have 1 hour more ! ( very annoying for alarm clock )
it's a very random bug : sometimes when i awake the HD2, sometimes when i restart it...
2-/ i delete my mails when i read them.... but the HD2 ALWAYS reload them !
( from a gmail account)...
3-/ Same problem with SMS: i delete them, but after 5 or 10mn, they come back !
4-/ sometimes, HTC Sense have big bug with i put the HD2 in landscape orientation for choosing an album ( music album page)
what about you ? have some tips to resolve these problems ?
5 - Camera flash doesn't work independently anymore
6- MS Office Mobile 10 will not work correctly on this version
Totally Agree
I've waited for the official Asia version to released only to get disappointed. First 30 minutes of usage my HD2 hanged twice. Did a factory reset and finally reflashed the ROM.
When I thought everything is OK. I had the same problem again when I started loading my favorite apps. Don't know how HTC tested this ROM. Their old ROMs are much much more better than this....
Epic Fail!
Just a simple question; did you install stock ROM 3.14 correctly?
I mean with this in the last couple of months I see almost 75% of the user who didn't install it correctly.
1) download the correct ROM version who match with your aria S/N.
2) Remove HSPL from your device.
3) Install stock ROM 3.14
4) Do a hard reset.
I don`t have any problem with the 3.14 rom , everything is ok . And ,I must say , it`s better than 1,66 rom

Same here, few issues now, better battery life, hardly any crashes.
I've found the issue with the reappearing emails as well, but only with an IMAP account and if you delete them from within Sense. If you delete them from the message dialog or inbox it will delete them. As we didn't have the delete function in Sense in 1.66 I don't see the problem.
m.
PS: anyone know if you can mark a message as 'read' from the Sense interface?
ROm bugs
Hi there
3.14 is realy fast ROM.
But full off bugs missing clear type!!!I don't want to go for regedit!!!
UI is fast with lots of lags!
Abouth camera,sms,mail,,, better not talk
3.14 is the best ROM WM 6.5:
1. Very fast first start.
2. No bugs till now.
3. Working microsoft voice command(after install) over BT mic.
4. Great batery life - 2 days (aggressive using).
5. Android friendly.
6. ...
I dont know why but i have very bad battery life with 3.14 ROM stock or customized and i think its because 2.15 RADIO
No problems for me using 3.14 ROM.
Isn't stock ROM supposed to contain everything, I mean besides OS, Radio ROM is also cooked in..... And yes as far as I know I followed correct procedure, I've flushed out HSPL with 1.42 official ROM and then upgrade to 3.14 ROM.
The second time I flashed I've check the bootloader and it says 3.03 SPL. Flashed the official 3.14 ROM twice. Second time I flashed everything looks okay but when I loaded my apps uConvert with flashlight didn't work always hanged. Parlingo always giving notification that it didn't start properly worst even if I uninstall it, HD2 still giving same notification.
On top of this keyboard is very laggy, I though this issue should have been solved, tons of custom ROM had solved this issue for ages.
Now I'm happily back to custom ROM with Laurentius26 WWE latest 3.14 based ROM, still keeping 3.03 SPL. Why can't HTC even match the performance of custom ROM they should know better right? sometimes its difficult to understand this manufacturers.
Instead of removing HSPL you can flash from the SD card.
Its very NB to have the correct stock rom (region) when doing the above. If you don't you end up with SPL 3 and no OS (just the boot loader). At this point you will not be able to get past this without a gold card.
The safest route is to get a gold card first then flash via SD Card.
If you flash with out removing HSPL via the USB you will still have the old spl and you will have a very unstable OS.
no problem with 3.14 rom..only thing that is not working is visual voicemail
At last my stock Rom was on SEA HTC official web site,I put back my spl and flashed it,overall its a good ROM but I dont like the scrolling in Sense and my WIFI suffered terribly, since I heavily depend on it.I hope HTC will update it soon with a better one.
I went back to HSPL and installed the Middle East English ROM 1.66.415.9 WWE,with heavy tweaks from this forum, this is the best ROM Ive ever used, should have been the basis for any future HTC updates.
Anyone having this issue?
Whereby everytime after you sent a message, there's a message sent back from htc??
Anyone know how to disable it? it's very irritating!
Thank you very much!!

Missing the Display Settings completely from All Settings?? Why do they make it tough to enable the ClearType? ClearType is disabled by default as well :|
What about RAM of 3.14?
In Settings - About phone - Hardware information RAM size is 448MB.
In SD card & phone storage is written that Total program is 366MB
Is this the same?
hello!
I read in dev thread that :
ShaGGy_UK
"I was having poor battery performance after installing V2 (half a day at most) changed Radio to Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14 and it is lasting 2 days now with Wireless turned on.
So if your getting poor battery performance with V2 try installing Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14 it worked for me and now I am very happy with the phone again
Great work guys on the Mango release it works flawlessly for me."
And i have a question: can I install CustomRUU.exe package with new radio having Yuki's & Xboxmod's WP7 MangoRTM v2 without loosing my data? Does this procedure be safe and my phone won't be hardreseted? I know that it's (yet) impossible to change software radio without re-installing rom. With the tricolored screen radio instalation things looks the same?
Thanks for answeres and sorry for bad english!
When you flash a new radio just this will be changed. Nothing else (like your personal data, or settings) gets touched.
I did this many times and it always worked like a charm.
