Hello all,
I was trying to get android booting from NAND instead of the SD card, I got a rom with 576ram (recommended) and installed MAGLDR 1.11. Now i cant seem to do anything with the phone, its not bricked as par say, it will show the loading screen and then not move and i can access the bootloader with voldwn+powerbutton but nothing else is happening, I cant load new roms nothing. Im pretty lost here and really need some help of how i can get my phone back onto a winmo6.5 rom so i can remember not to try it again
I posted this in this thread as it does relate to an android situation.

Find Task29.exe with no radio. It's on this site somewhere. You will see some with radios attached to them, so don't use those. Just the plain old no radio version. It will wipe your phones internal memory and you will basically be starting from scratch. Nothing will be on your phone after a Task29. Then go into bootloader. How to enter boot loader after Task29- Once Task29 hits 96% (looks just like you are flashing a rom), hold volume down and power from 96% until it gets to 100% and the tri color bootloader screen pops up. It should say "USB" at the bottom after bootloader comes up if you are plugged into your computer. Then Flash MAGLDR 1.11 again. Then flash your NAND build.
You aren't bricked if you phone powers on.
What operating system is on your PC?
Well it does boot and if you have hspl you did a good job. So if you have magdlr you now need to install Android. Read a guide plzzz!
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
OS on PC is....#sigh# windows vista ultimate
For task 29 do I have to have the phone connected via usb, because its not recognising it when its even in bootloader
task29.exe didnt work
Don't do task 29,you will just complicate your life even more than now. I don't think you know what you are doing.
You may brick your phone in the end do you have HSPL?

1st try entering the BOOTLOADER, by pressing the volume down power button simultaneously..!!!
Instead of TASK 29, try FLASHAHOLIC which will perform your TASK 29 & help you flash a WinMO 6.5 ROM as well..!!!
PS: - You can even flash custom ROM's, stock ROM's not compulsory..!!!

Just boot your phone with VolDown and enter USB mode, reflash MAGLDR 1.11, once this has completed reboot your phone and hold down the power button, you will then see the MAGLDR menu.
Then just follow instructions on how to install an nand rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
it might just be the magldr or NAND ROM not flashed properly. If you can get to Tri-Color bootloader you are fine.
Found out the problem, thanks for all of your help guys, it was the fact i didnt have hspl2 installed....newb points to me
I have exactly the same problem only difference with my problem is when hold vol down and power buttons all I get is the tri coloured screen and nothing else no bootloader menu appears at all.
What can I do? Is my phn dead???

That's exactly what is supposed to happen if you hold the vol down button while switching on. To get to the magldr menu you need to hold the power button in until it boots to the menu (no vol down button )
You guys are awesome!
I've been avoiding dealing with this phone for a while. This post came up first on google search. Held power and volume (mag 1.11 was on it) and upgraded it to 1.13 and now I'm golden! Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh i got a serious problem
after I install MAGLDR 1.11 my HD2 it succeed and did reboot and then it did stuck in white screen with hTC green log.
What to do? It cannot connect it to the sync with computer when it is with this screen. I tried so many time to reset it (with pressing long the power bottom) but I didn’t get MAGLDR 1.11 boot menu, so I cannot proceed to the next step which is installing NAND
My HTD looks like with no operating system only with white screen with hTC green log, What to do? Any help PlZzZzZzZzZzzzz?

Do you have 2.08HSPL on your phone?
Hold the volume key down while you turn on your phone, then you will see the tri-color screen. and the hardspl you have.
I suggest you follow this
Make your you have flashed HSPL 2.08.
it can be found easily using search option
after that boot it to tri-color screen.
( hold volume down key and boot your phone)
Sync your phone with pc using active sync
then down there on your phone screen will say USB
now find
"Task29 provided by doloop"
in the forum.
use that to flash everything from your phone.
after that it will automatically boot into white htc logo screen and not proceed
(due to there's nothing remaining.) just ignore it and
reset your phone while pressing volume down key to enter tri-color screen
now flash mgldr.
after that your phone will boot into mgldr
then follow the instructions on forum about nand builds
PS/If you are using XP you have to make your when usb flasher
it says wait usb...usb(connect via active sync) then uncheck "the allow usb connection" on active syncs connection settings. then proceed will rom installers
hope this will help.

MAGLDR requirements:
HSPL 2.08
RADIO that supports 576MB RAM
Milan Geek, I know I am going blind, but seriously?
YOU DON'T NEED SUCH BIG FONTS
This is what you need to do:
Unplug battery to turn device off
Put battery back in to device
Hold the Volume down button, do not let go
Press and release the power button to turn on the device
when you see the RED/GREEN/BLUE screen, plug in your USB cable to phone and computer
Run HSPL3 and update to HSPL 2.08
When done, the phone will Reboot, when screen turns off, press and hold the Volume Down button, if you don't, you will have to remove battery, put it back, hold the volume button, then turn on the device again.
when you see the RED/GREEN/BLUE screen again, make sure USB cable is connected to phone and computer install RADIO 2.15.50.14
Now MAGLDR will work.
If these instructions do not work,

It's a simple process. If you are getting stuck at white screen the chances are you are not doing one of the first 2 steps as below.
FIRST: You have to install 2.08.HSPL (no other HSPL version and not an spl ending in .0000). Check in bootloader that you have 2.08.hspl NOT 2.08.0000.
SECOND: You have to install a 2.xx.50.xx radio (it has to be a .50 radio and not a .51 radio). Use 2.08.50.xx or higher .50 radio.
THIRD: Install magldr from bootloader by running the romupdateutility file.
I know. Please Believe I have 2.08.HSPL and 2.15.50.15 Radio installed several times without errors but same result.
Could be a HW problem? any other solution?

Had similar problem with MAGLDR, had no idea what to do. Found this forum and these instructions. Took some fiddling but finally got it working. THANX SO MUCH!!!
same problem doesnt work
WM6.5 on my HD2 (from T-Mobile europe) has finally bothered me enough to decide to change the rom entirely, to android (NAND). I saw the instructions/video tutorial by techburrow (including the magldr v 1.11) and thought that it wouldn't give me too much troubles.
Before starting, I checked my ROM to see if it was recent enough. I as well installed hspl v 2.08 (as shown after taking battery out/in and using volume down + startbutton, in the rgbw screen).
After that I (think I) successfully installed MAGLDR v 1.11. It showed the comment that my phone was now "hacked".
I then went on to the most important step in the process, actually loading android. In the instructions for DFT_Android is states that:
" For installation you need enter MAGLDR (hold power button during boot)"
I tried getting into bootloader by holding the power button, I tried pressing it once and then holding it. Neither worked, both ended up with the HTC logo screen.
All I can do now is choose between getting the HTC logo and the rgbw screen showing hspl 2.08.
Hard reset also doesn't work, probably because MAGLDR deleted the original rom. Connecting through USB via the rgbw screen doesnt work, the connection is not recognised.
Other thread look similar problem, but haven't helped so far. Only the most recent are about others trying to get the android on NAND with MAGLDR 1.11 and DFT-Android.
HELP? Anybody has any idea on how I can install android any ROM now, how to get into the bootloader, how to use my HD2 again?
Looks like Magldr was not flash into the phone. Reflash magldr.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
unfortunately
Thx for the suggestion, xhanay. However, reflashing MAGLDR requires an activesync connection and/or USB connection via HSPL (only way my phone does anything). Cannot get any connection unfortunately. So no reflashing.
Any other suggestions? (reflashing via microSD?)
help!i have the really same problem!thx!
This is what I do:
1. Remove the battery, put it back
2. Hold VolDown key pressed while turn on the phone to enter Bootloader (tricolored screen)
3. Connect it to PC and wait for connection to change to USB
4. Flash radio 2.15.50.14
5. Hold VolDown key pressed after reboot to enter bootloader again.
6. Flash MAGLDR
7. Reboot
8. Hold Power button pressed > Select USB flasher ...
....and flash Android/Windows 7.
If USB connection is not recognized I suggest flashing a stock ROM using SD card.
See instructions here, chapter 3 - Flashing Via MicroSD Card
could just work
Thank you for the quick response. Hopefully I will make it all the way to step 8+ (with android and all apps coming along with it). Otherwise using the stock rom should help. Thx for the link.
Will let you know if it works.
Also post in the right section in the future
All worked. I had to reflash a custom ROM through the rgbw screen (apparently a custom ROM did synchronise via USB even though activesync didnt show anything). Then I reinstalled MAGLDR (which immediately sent me through to the bootlader screen). After I had some issues loading android (had to tag USB on in Activesync connection settings, make the connection, the tag USB off in the connection settings)... Now Android is running as I hoped it would. Great work and thanx to all that helped.
ps: Will try to use the right section next time. No promises that it will then be the right one however.
I have the same problem and tried this only to be sent back into magdlr where it just scrolls up and down with the volume key held down.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

EDIT: I have a guess about the cause of all these issues. It looks as if the phone behaves like the "call" button is being in a pressed state all the time. If the result of the below listed steps is the same when doing them, but with the "call" button pressed, that would confirm it. Can someone please do it?
EDIT2:
Success! Well, kind of. I downloaded Copes CyanogenMod 7 v 02/04/11 [Kernel: AmeriCanAndroid HK853+] SD MAGLDR ROM. I went through all the steps, and then realised there is a rel_path set in startup.txt. I removed it, since I'm doing everything in the sd root directory (as I can't select anything in the MAGLDR menu), and tried to boot. It got past the GO!GO!GO!, and booted Android. Unfortunately, as I feared, the digitizer is not working and I can't select the setup wizard in the dialog that is presented on first boot. I now took the battery out and back in, and it seems the boot process is stuck on htc splash screen, which is shown *after* the GO!GO!GO!. I guess it's all down to hardware now.
--
I got this HD2 the other day in an unbootable state. When I turn it on, first I get the HTC splash screen, MAGLDR menu appears briefly and then MAGLDR 1.13 tries to boot Android form the SD card. However, there is no kernel on the SD CARD, the error about it is shown on the screen and then MAGLDR menu is briefly shown again and the same thing repeats over and over. What I tried is the following:
1) holding down the power button while booting to get the MAGLDR menu, but the same thing happens
2) pressing some buttons -> while holding down the windows button, MAGLDR menu is presented. If I press the volume down button, the loop continues, if I press the volume up button, it tries to boot Windows Phone 7, but it can't find any. If I just let go the windows button, the loop continues
3) putting android on an SD Card - I chose the BoxmaX ROM - I took all the files from BoxmaX.KS.v8.6.KH8.5.1.rar\Android folder and put them to the root of the SD Card - now MAGLDR finds the kernel, boots it, but is then stuck on the GO!GO!GO! line
4) holding the volume key down and pressing end-call button, in order to get to the boot screen and see the radio version and try to flash the WinMo ROM - I can't get to the bootloader, it never shows. Instead I get the splash screen and the MAGLDR as usual
5) come to XDA and ask for help - so, what are my options now? Is there any way to get it to work?
The thing about the phone is that it could have been partially disassembled, so maybe some buttons don't work because of it (I suspect the volume down button, but it reacts while holding the win key). The digitizer too, is probably not responding, but I can't get to any screen where I could be able to test it.
P.S. I'm a HD2 newbie, never had it before, so please forgive any beginners mistakes.
Just a question.. you prefer booting from SD or the phone?
Right now I don't care. I just want to make it do something. In general, I prefer booting from NAND.
Have you try reinstalling magloader?
I'm not at home right now, but for sure we will get this to run... I will give you one big instruction rather asking you single questions... we will start from scratch... 3 steps
Brb 4hrs unless you found your answer
Booting from nand
1. Reinstall hspl... make sure its the right one for your phone. Get in bootloader to do this.
2. Reinstall magloader... 1.13... I believe that's the one...
3. Install a DAF version of rom... then we will get clock work on there since that's the preferred way of flashing rom IMO.
Hope this help you get started... ill keep checking back on you.
Thanx for your help. See my second edit in the first post.
Unfortunately I still can't enter the bootloader, so I can't flash either HSPL, or a WinMo 6.5 ROM.
Notice you say call button seems to be in pressed mode... if that's the cause try to get that fix... to get to it you have to remove digitizer... getting that fix that will help a lot.
I never mess with SD boot so I would not know how to help you in that but if its a nand boot... I know
you might have got the wrong daf configurations or defective hspl or magldr
Have you checked your battery pins to see if one is bent slightly. one of the battery pins being bent has been know to cause boot loops. Worth a good look at the battery pins for sure....
Thank you all for the advice. I disassembled the phone today, disconnected the keypad flex cable, tried powering it on with the volume button pressed and, lo and behold, bootloader screen appeared. So, I'll order a new keypad flex cable, and try it then.

Welcome to the forum. What radio do you have? Switch on while holding volume down and tell us exactly what is on the bootloader screen. I think that is right.
For more info
my bootloader show PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0*05
CotullaHSPL 0*50
I still think it is your radio, see https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837 and https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
I purchased an HD2 off eBay to replace one with a cracked screen. The seller had been running Android and had attempted to downgrade to Winmo 6.5 (no idea why) and now the phone is stuck in bootloader. I figured it was an easy fix to get it back to running Android from NAND, but so far I'm not having any luck.
The screen shows:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
It looks like MAGLDR isn't functioning as I can't install CWM (USB init failed error). When I plug in the phone the "USB" message shows up and I get the sound in Windows indicating a USB connection.
I've tried a number of different flashes but all complete much too fast and upon reboot I'm still in the bootloader.
Any ideas?
Install HSPL first.
Is HSPL not installed already? It says "SPL-2.08.HSPL" on the bootloader screen.
You don't flash cwm from that screen. You flash magldr and winmo roms and radios from that screen, then when you restart magldr should appear, assuming your radio is compatible. If not, flash radio 2.15.50 and if it still doesn't start you have problems. Don't touch the spl, you are correct, 2.08.hspl is fine.
First post was SPL-2.08.JSPL, I was thinking is something wrong with SPL.
I've attempted to install MAGLDR a few times and it completes in about 30 seconds instead of the 10 minutes indicated. After rebooting I'm still looking at the bootloader.
EDIT: Just to be clear, I want to get back to Android, not Winmo
Try to flash radio like Samuel said.
I flashed to radio 2.15.50.14, which appeared to work, and still stuck in bootloader.
I have the same radio and it works.
Clean Install MAGLDR:
1. Task 29
2. Flash Radio(2.15 Recommended)
3. MAGLDR 1.13
4. ClockworkMod Recovery
5. Flash rom
If you haven't success could be a hardware problem.
Reinstall winmo and if everything works retry an android fresh install.
This sequence appears to work up to the MAGLDR flash, which flicks straight from 0% to 100% completion. After reboot I'm in the tricolour bootloader screen (even if I hold down power button + down volume).
Just to check I'm flashing correctly, I've downloaded DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF and I unrar then run ROMUpdateUtility. Is this correct?
When the boatloader loads up, it flashes once as if trying to load something else (MAGLDR I assume) and the text at the top refreshes - don't know if this is relevant

I'll give this a go. On boot, the phone enters the tricolour bootloader screen without me doing anything

Nothing unusall there. Its the way you get into the bootloader. To get into magdlr: turn of your device then hold down POWER button (power button only) till magldr menu shows up.

hmm that strange. seems like your volume down button is pressed or stuck constantly. did you try to clean its contacts?

i have never opened my hd2 that far, so i dont really know, sorry. I guess you will need a screwdriver but i would look for some tutorials on google on how to open it correctly/safely.
So the only way I should be seeing the tricolour bootloader screen is by holding the down volume button? And if I'm not it means it must be stuck?
I guess the only thing to do is pull it apart then!

yes, volume down to enter tricolor bootloader.
if its stuck? not sure 100%, but very very likely.
I have this same problem. Anyone find a fix for it? Or is it hardware?
