hi i just noticed when i downloaded i-nigma (a barcode scanner) into my neotouch s200 today
and i found that when the software uses the camera function, the camera screen is rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise for some reason.
i tried using other software such as neoreader and the same thing happens.
when i access the normal camera function the screen is the way its supposed to be though.
is this a bug? im using the 3.003b EN firmware by the way.
skip inigma
uses mobiletag the new version and use the htc HD2 settings. When you tap screen to open camera, make sure you are relatively close to whatever barcode and then half push the camera button to focus. I say mobiletag and not inigma b/c inigma doesn't focus for crap. E.g. on chrome i have an extension that creates a barcode for any webpage i'm on. I can't use inigma b/c I can't focus on it. Plus mobiletag does the whole online price check like the iphone and android apps do. Skip inigma... its junk.
the phone crashed when something is related to the camera function is running.
1) when using the QR code scanner from zxing and other similar apps, it can scan the QR and direct to market place. All without issue.. But right after press Install -- >> Ok (to all permission) the phone rebooted itself automatically.
2) When using QIK's live streaming, i can see the qik running and press Live sharing video, and it can load for a little, and as soon as i see the camera screen with QIK at the corner, the phone rebooted automatically.
If i only use the camera to take pictures or videos, all works fine.
So it seems something related to the camera when something else is working at same time.
Currently using CM 6.0.0. DS
Anyone with similar issue?
thx
About the only thing I could see myself missing a rear camera for would be scanning things like QR codes, bar codes, etc. Is it safe to assume that Barcode Scanner, Google Shopper, et al, would be able to scan using the front camera? I realize it might be a bit tricky at first because you wouldn't be able to see the screen well, if at all. With practice, though, I think you'd be able to figure it out.
"My impression" is that a front camera is addressed differently than a back camera.
Barcode scanners and camera apps might not work with the Nexus 7 without software modification.
For now, it remains to be seen how useful the front camera will be for other than video chatting.
Anyone verified Skype works with this yet?

Hi, I'm an author of Barcode Scanner. It doesn't use the front camera since only rear cameras are treated as 'real' cameras by Android, and the API for using second cameras appeared later than the API leve the app supports (2.3), which makes it tricker.
We made a 'premium' version that does, among other things, support front-camera-only devices like the Nexus 7.
Search for "barcode scanner plus" on Google Play -- sorry I can't posts links yet
Hi, i have broken camera and i can't activate one application without a picture.
I need to use image as camera input, but not 3rd party app, but camera api itself, cause application i need to activate have camera itself, there's no "open app with.."
It can be done on my SGS7 Edge or Android Emulator/Ubuntu, i'll pay for help
Any ideas?
My default Samsung camera app shows a black screen before showing 'camera failed' error message. I tried solutions I found on the web such as clearing camera app cache and data, force restart, safe mode, boot onto bios and clear system cache... Nothing works.
I tried testing with *#0*#, 'Mega cam' its a black screen, tested with 'Front cam' it works. I tried with another downloaded camera app (pic quality is bad compared to the default Samsung camera app) and this time front and back camera works but not the default Samsung camera app. The camera also doesn't work in apps that require camera such as QR reader and document scanner. At least I know the camera hardware is working.
I suspect it might have been caused by a security update performed this week. Version G970U1UES6GUG1 updated.
I bought the phone new and have never done any messing about with bootloader etc.
Can anyone help?
