[Q] Which NAND build has the longest battery life? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Which NAND Build has the longest battery life in your experience?
A friend of mine told me DorimanX has an up to 5 days life in standby. Is that true?

That's true
Android is less efficient that wm, though smoother (web browser)

I checked app call Battery Dr. It says that my phone has idle time of 311 Hrs at 89% battery. That's amost 13 days.... lol
Ive learned to use battery saver app which I think you can find many threads in here. It prolong my usage to more than 12 hrs which i'm very glad.
I'm using NDT MIUI.

The experience of each ROM varies with each user. There is no ROM which has a definitive best battery life. All ROMs now tend to have pretty good battery lives. In airplane mode, the battery drain is about 1%/2hrs (no use) and with phone on its slightly under 1%/hour. Most things turned on now don't affect battery drain too much (eg. with wifi and bluetooth my battery drain is 5-7mA, it's normally 4).

Agree. I've tried out many roms, and they all have very similar battery life. MOst will last about a day with moderate use.
Sense roms have very slightly higher battery drain, but sill last about a day. (And they are much prettier...!)

The old Hyperdroid ROM have great battery life

I can easily get over 30 hours moderate use with tytung's nexus hd2 ROM (clk)

Best ROM for battery life...

Well, I know that most ROMs claim to have better battery life and yada, yada, yada. But which one do you believe is the winner? I have only tried Fresh other than stock and I can't complain. But for you, which one do you feel offers the best battery life performance?!
Thanks in advance...
I got great battery life in DamageControl, but I dumped that for CyanogenMod.
This may not be the exact answer you were looking for, but I've found that using an underclocking kernel I get great battery life, even with the latest cyanogen nightly. You might want to try using SetCPU if you haven't done that already.
DamageControl
DamageControl v3.2.3 using DConfig with the profile set to battery Saver. My battery last for days (moderate use).
I believe t0ast3d de1ight has the best battery

All very subjective but I've been reading that Baked Snack is specifically geared towards battery life.
like above poasts state, rom does not matter, undervolt kernal + setcpu/phone setting settings does
cm heavy usage > 18 hours regular use 36 hours idle for days
Best I had was baked snack 9. 7 I got al most 24 hours on a charge with normal usage
Ava 2. 2v3 I. Got 18 hours
Cm6 barely 8 hours

I second this. I was using this setup before updating to official 2.2. I was getting about 5-6 hours of usage(I.e. When you're actually using your phone--Screen on browsing the web, using apps) plus around 20 hours of "Uptime" (standby, screen off).
I am getting equal or better battery life with the official 2.2 update. I am surprised I'm not seeing more people mention just how good battery life is with it.
BakedSnack with 3rd kernel did miracles for me

I also have been having good battery life on the official pre-release, just about on par with what I had running baked snack 9.6, which underclocked a good amount for battery life. Very pleased with the new release, I haven't had any problems going from a fresh wipe to this update.
I would bet most people haven't really noticed how good the battery life has been because they've been busy trying to restore backups, apps, and test out the camera functionality.
Best battery life I had was DC 3.2.3 with Battery config, SetCPU w/ undervoltage kernel, JuiceDefender, and Autostarts configed. Got about 26 hours moderate usage. I still get excellent battery life using the same setup on CM6, around 20-24 hours.
I'm getting great battery life with the leaked, stock 2.2
I think it is almost impossible to prove a rom has the best battery life when there are so many options/tweaks that can be done to every rom and all phones won't necessarily act the exact same.
Choose a rom based on functionality and features that appeal to you and then figure out how to obtain the battery life you want through different tweaks/usage. They all can have great battery life.

I believe people that have tried multiple ROMs can accurately assess which is better/worse in terms of battery life. Obviously there can be variations due to tweaks, apps, and usage, but it isn't difficult to get a sense of where you stand. I know I noticed a drastic increase coming from stock to Fresh.

True, what I should have said was without testing yourself and keeping variables the same, you can't just take the word of others.

cyanogen six sucks the battery life

My battery life on cyanogen six is down right awful. Every day I charge it at night and when I go to bed even if I don't use it its at 15%
Isn't there anything I can do?

I, as well, see about a 1%/hour drain when my phone is not in use.
Usually, unruly battery drain is due to a rouge application you have installed.
I'm getting better than ever battery life on CM6.
Try charging all the way, reboot into recovery, wipe battery stats, charge all the way again.

I did something similar... I got it to warning (15%) and then erased battery stats... I then ran my my phone until it died and died again... after that it shouldn't get past boot if so then proceed to boot it into bootloader. The bootloaders white screen should drain back up battery quickly so only leave it on for only 2-3 mins. Charge it fully powered off and enjoy 15+ hours uptime!
my battery sucks ass too it was never like this before??? kernel??? could a different kernel fix this issue..if so which is the best please be specific so many kernel to choose if any...please help..thanks!

cyan 6 has had terrible battery life for me. so i switched back to leofroyo latest beta rom and got back my 3hr/% standby battery life. with widgets and email checking every 30 minutes. i'm down to 2hr/% in standby. usually in a day i lose 25% battery life with mild internet use and calling. i charge my phone every two days. can't beat that.
Try manually closing all applications & services that are not vital to your phone, then test over a day or two. If that doesn't work, try a different kernel.
Okay I've had about enough of this. It goes down to 15% every day EVEN IF I DON'T USE IT AT ALL
Could someone recommend me the best battery life rom in town, even if it's the stock one?

This one is good. Best in town is hard to judge, but a lot of people enjoy the battery and stability:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714184
Try blackbar v6.1 or stockbar v6.1. Those are the FRF91 build. I haven't tried the FRG33 but it's probably pretty great as well. The first post lists the changes from stock.
I'm fighting with battery life too, but problem is not when in standby where it uses less than 1% per hour, but actually using it (browsing) you can see battery lose 1% every two minutes... is it like that for you guys also? Really frustrating me...

Don't do this. Draining lithium ion batteries to completely dead is one off the worst things you can do to those batteries. It kills off their capacity
Charge to full, turn off phone and charge again until led turns green again, then boot into recovery and wipe battery stats.
15 hour uptime is average not excellent

This is an excellent ROM. i've used it until i switched over to LeoFroyo. They both use the stock kernel and in my opinion i think its th best.
i also like to downclock the processor down to 800mhz with setcpu. definitely helps with the battery drain while using the phone. Non of those 925mv kernels help out in my experience.
Well I run go chat and msn constantly, I use 40 percent display, wifi, 3g, sync, etc and its about double the length I got when it was stock. Right now at 12% and I'm at 16 hours and 32 minutes! I wipe battery stats every time I flash a new radio also it seems to help

(Q) nand android and battery life?

So, what's the deal with hd2 with nand adroid and battery life? Is it poor? I mean I still have to do a full day test I just got my hd2, but what is to expect? And there's any extended batteries that you guys could recommend
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
It really depends on what build you use, the kernel it's based on and how you use your phone.
I use my phone all day with internet connection, I get about 13 hours out of a charged battery, that's with WiFi almost constantly on and using Whatsapp, Facebook and browser a lot and beside that the occasional game.
This is on Hyperdroid CM7.
With less use of the phone and turning off the WiFi connection I can get about 25 - 26 hrs on a fully charged battery. If I really try hard I can get 2 full days out of the battery (that means almost no use of WiFi and turning off the data connection as much as possible)
Mind you this battery is 1 year old and abused (quick half charges every now and then)
The battery life of the HD2 isn't the best. But with a good build and a program like SuperPower or JuiceDefender you can get pretty good results (atleast a full day of using your phone.. which to me is exactly what I want.)
I personally do not have experience with extended batteries, I'm still on my stock HD2 battery
So far on hyperdriid the battery is been not really good, is only Been maybe 2 hours without wifi and screen brightness all the way to thebottom and is already at 76% not good at all lol I will let it drain and try again tomorrow.

Like bever86 said, it depends on which build you use. And unfortunately you can't know which rom has the lowest battery drainage without flashing and checking out yourself.
Here's some of the rom's i tested:
UltimateDroid 3.3 - was okay. I got at least a day with it.
I tried some version of MIUI which was pretty bad. It didnt last from 8am to 1pm.
WindowsPhone7 - was okay too. Pretty much the same with the UltimateDroid.
Now I'm using SENSATION XL V 2.5 stock ALL IN ONE. I just flashed it yesterday but it seems very good. I used wifi to download apps all day and it hasnt even dropped to %60.
Right now I'm with hyperdroid and dorimanx.... its awful... if I use the phone for 20 minutes idk, browsing with 3g the battery drops Maybe 15 % is alot even. With screen with minimum brightness and not overcllocked.... I don't know what to do, I don't have money for a bigger battery and I could sell the phone but nothing good is available for under 200 used. Uhmmm what to do what to do...
Sent from my HD2 using xda premium
I Easily get 14 hours of pretty heavy usage on hyperdroid, with an extended battery I can get 3 days.
It depends a lot on how you configure your OS, how many apps are auto-sync, signal strength and the health of your battery.
Last one can't be underestimated, your battery losses about 10% of capacity per year under the best possible conditions. In realistic usage, your battery is junk after a couple of years.
I run my phone OC'd with 3g and auto sync. Before I replaced my battery half an hour of browsing would drain about 15%, same setup new battery, the drain is about 3%.

HTC HD2 Battery life

Hi all,
Is it just me or is every rom(WP7, Android tytung GB/ICS & gbLeo) I tried have bad battery life?
25% of battery life down after 30 minutes with 3g on.
no,its just android sucking juice out of battery as quickly as possible.
android is crap on battery life, and has crap radio software that is a big step BACKWARD from winmo 6ยท5.even with big 2800 mah muggen battery i am lucky now to get 5 hours out of mine due to me using three network and their signal here is awful if i run phone on orange i get 8-9 hours use.

Hey bud I don't experience these issues with most roms. Our HD2 sense 3.5 Rom has amazing battery life. It is the T3D sense 3.5 Rom by sundawg who is our developer. I get around 36 hours normal use. I also use juice defender and swear by it. But by all means I have tried many other roms without that issue.
Sent from my HTC One X with Beats Audio using Tapatalk 2
If 3G sucks in the first place, you can force Android to use only 2G. Since especially the automatic switching back and forth between both in a spot with bad reception seems to drain battery.
And I can second the assessment that Juice Defender is a good idea to keep the battery drain minimal.

which is sthe smoothest rom for battery life?

Hi, I didn't find a Q/A thread so I ask here.
I came from a rn4. I loved to use Los ext, it was one of the best rom for battery life. Now I am with miui 11 stock and debloated (I removed almost all ****), but still I m having a battery drain. In fact tonight it used 5% of battery in less than 8 hours with wifi and screen rotation only. I think it's too much!!
I red that some people can last their android battery up to 3 days with 4 hours sot, and I was stupified.
So which is the best rom at the moment for rn7, looking at: stability, smoothness, battery life, gaming, customization?
Does Mi app like themes, fonts, etc are removed normally in roms, and if yes, do developer create their own menu in setting for these things?
Who is using the Rom that will suggest me, which SOT you get and how much battery drain do you have in 8hours sleeping time with wifi only?
Thank you a lot! ?
When system running ok i got always the same sot on each rom i tested.
Stock Global, xiaomi.eu 10 and 11, pixelex 9+ and LOS16.
in each rom i mostly get 2 days with 6-7 h SOT.
battery drain over night in flight mode only 1-2%.
no big differences in the Roms for me.

That is still way too much for such a big battery ESPECIALLY in Airplane mode. It should NOT drain a single % of battery during more than 12h of idle, where as right now it can hit up to 10% for me, which is just unacceptable
For me, my phone doesn't lose any single percent of battery in 12h, in airplane mode

There are actually massive differences... IMHO one of the best ROM's is not even on XDA. https://os.revtechs.me
after a new install of LOS 16......
last 2 nights in airplane mode i didnt lost any percent.

maybe old install was faulty....

HI, are you using some of them? How much sot?
It seems that rooting and using Roms on this phone is pretty useless on the battery side, because nobody talks about 9-11 hours of sot using roms.

Rooting is absolutely no problem and who ever presumes having 9-11 SOT is simply hallucinating... 7-8h is realistic... I don't even want to imagine how sad individual lives are being staring at a phone 8h out of a 24h day...
