CM7 for Xperia Play - Is it out? - Xperia Play General

Hey guys.
I'm not totally sure how CM7 and stuff works, but just curious.
CM7 Added Xperia Play to there supported devices, does that mean that you can literally just Root, install clockword mod and flash CM7 now?
Thanks

Look in the dev section. CM7 and install instructions are there.

I know that but what ROM and kernel?
You could try out cyanogenmod 7, or if you're daring, cyanogenmod 9
Well since you have r800x you wont find much ROMs out there, but install the DooMKernel and OC your play and you will see how sweet it will become
BTW im using Darkforest Rom and Kernel on my r800a and that thing is freaking goodm

[Q] Revert(downgrade) from CM9 to CM7

Can someone please help me take my nook color back to cm7. I was running cm7 and I was loving it. I decided to give cm9 a shoot, and think it really lags with cm9, So I want to take it back to cm7. Any instructions or link would be greatly appreciated.
It's the same like upgrading from CM7 to cm9.
First you download the rom that you want to install and you have it available.
Then you reboot in recovery, you format system/wipe data and cache partition.
Then you install the rom and this is it.
Produced by NookColor at ICS AOKP 4.0.4
Thanks for the quick response, how about gapps? Do i have to install the cm7 version?

[Port] Stock Jellybean 4.2 Camera and Gallery apps on Gingerbread /ICS

Install JB 4.2 camera and gallery apps on your Gingerbread/ICS rom. This port of Camera app will only work on the advanced Gingerbread 2.3 firmwares and on all the devices which are rooted on ICS 4.0+ firmwares. Download root checker to check if your mobile is rooted. The flashable zip is attached below.
Instructions-
1. Flash the zip via recovery
2. Fix permissions (Incase the gallery gets force closed).
Bugs-
Photosphere not yet working.
Hit thanks button if I helped!
Dude will this work on the Galaxy S Advance (android 2.3.6)...?
Will this work on Galaxy Y GT-S5360?
And, could you give me any guide which explains porting apps? Or atleast some info which can enable me to get going?
Wow, trying this asap.
Trying right now on LG NITRO HD, Running Liquid Nitro (ICS Based Rom) I will confirm if working!
Everyone be sure to backup original camera app (Unless your ROM has a specified camera it uses)

Install worked fine, flashed over, new Camera app on phone because LG has their own added, so I launched this one, and it failed right after showing the UI I was looking forward to
This is a no go for LG Nitro HD users.

Getting FC on gallery, tried fixing permissions, still doesn't work. I'm on latest Mildwild CM7.
Can I have Code for Camera APK?
I have tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2008066 , but as it's seems it's the same.
So i have tried on my Xperia Arc Stock GB,doomkkernel v22 but it doesn't work.Tried flashing (FC,tried changing permissions),moving manually to system/app and system/lib and changing permissions but didn't work.I would like to make it work at least Google Gallery.apk if not camera.Tnx

Which rom should I use

Well I have a r800x unlocked BL nd was wondering what exactly is the best rom/kernel combination for my play
I'm not big on the gaming functionality but do want camera and wifi Bluetooth stuff like that and I was also wanting a JB rom bad but ICS will do if the JB is too unstable
So yea XDA tell me what your choices are
Sent from my GBTweaked v7.1 r800x using Tapatalk 2
To be honest my first choice would be to tell you to check out miui-australia(its got its own kernel & its ics)... But only because its got loads of space...very stable, but aokp is good also (With wedgess lupus cm9 based kernel)...thats just me tho... As for jb I personally haven't tested any... But here good things about cj's slimbean port...
Sent from my R800x
Check out Slimbean with Turbo kernel.
If you want something a little more stable, try regular CM9 or MIUI Australia.

I had to revert to FXP CM9 with the Adreno ICS driver, the driver didn't work with SlimBean for me. Still, stock GB 2.3.4 is fastest for gaming.

I would suggest the P.A.C.man ROM. It's got bugs, but I never thought my play would be this smooth. With 4.1.2, my phone is relevant again!
I never really liked miui as I flashed it to my brothers Droid x and it was to ummm.....IOS'ee for me love the look of aosp the best

I will check out slim bean and P.A.C.man rom as I am craving jb lol

I'm using FXP 151 with latest lupus v9 kernel. This latest kernel update was awesome.
Pretty smooth and no problems at all untill now.
I would like to try a Jelly Bean based rom, tough. Haven't decided witch one...

This thread was obviously missed when it was started but best ROM threads shouldn't be posted as there is no such thing as "best ROM", it's all down to what suits you best so try them yourself and find what's best for you.
Thanks
