I know the HTC Flyer uses a digitizer buuuuut yeah. I'm just curious if it will ever be possible. Also, I'm a huge fan of HTC and would love to hold a pen that says "HTC" Lol
Ummmm, any suggestions for styluses? I want pin point accuracy bwahahhaa

Got a 20x targus and love it! Anyway to make it more responsive when taking notes? With software?

HTC Touch HD w/ QWERTY

Does anyone have an idea or thinks HTC will launch HTC Touch HD with QWERTY and call it HTC Touch HD Pro?
Anyway, that would be my perfect phone. I was about to buy HTC Touch Pro but when HTC Touch HD came out, I kinda relaxed thinking HTC Touch HD might be the right product for me. All I can think of now is, will those fellas in Taiwan come up with the Pro version for HTC Touch HD?
Any suggestions?

I had the same thoughts, then I realised that we did not have qwerty with the original Pocket Pc's. Therefore why not use a fold up (stoway) keyboard. Carry with you only when needed and it is better sized keyboard as well. Then when not required you only carry a thin phone with you the HD!

I was going to post the exact same thoughts. I too wanted to pick up the HTC Touch Pro. But after seeing the HTC Touch HD, I convinced myself I would be willing to wait up to a year, for something with that screen and a QWERTY slider. I hope HTC has this in their recent plans.
The thing is as the screen is quite large, the keys on the virtual keyboard may be quite wider and therefore make your typing more accurate. Also there are third party software keyboards that are full screen such as spb full screen keyboard. Google "spb full screen keyboard screenshots" and go to the first result.
BTW, does anyone know how I can get rid of the vodafone logo at the top right corner of this post? I am not on vodafone anymore. Cant figure where in my profile settings I can remove it.
The truth of the matter is, when it comes to engaging in multiple sms texting communications, it's hard to beat an actual, physical keyboard. It seems HTC would agree by their decision to produce the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro (I know there are other hardware specs also).
What would be the harm to allow consumers to have the option? I don't consider a portable folding keyboard as an option, to engage in texting and emailing discussions. That would be too cumbersome for quick messaging.
Come on HTC..........bring this to reality.......bring this to the states for ATT 3G. Hopefully this could be a true Hapy Thanksgiving in 2009. I'm prepared to wait it out a year for this one.

Seems you know...or are testing...something we don't know about. If this dream phone comes out, and it doesn't have US 3G frequencies, I just may have to try and slit my wrists with my HTC Trinity

This is almost impossible. A friend used to have something like that for one of his old HTC PPC without the physical QWERTY - I think it was cruise or p3600. He gave it away for a kaiser so nothing beats the physical.
Imagine dropping ur fold-up keyboard home thinking, ok no heavy texting today. Suddenly, during the day you find yourself out of the office and had to send loads of emails and txt colleagues. Damn you will bite those fingers
Was thinking Athena earlier before Touch Pro. My brother got that and I wasnt all that impressive with what I saw. I wanna belive HTC Touch HD Pro will come out Q1 2009
HTC Touch HD Pro is what I am waiting for if it would finally see the daylight.

So someone add more networks to Finland. We do not have Telia anymore here
I just want a bigger screen then my Tilt with VGA and 3G here in the USA
the keyboard to me is no big deal
Looks like I will do the upgrade to the Fuze from my Tilt on my wifes upgrade then maybe if the HD comes to the USA in 2009 I can do the upgrade on my account
I hope
If they could also add
-Flash
-VGA video recording at 30 fps
-DVB-H (we got nation wide coverage of DVB-H overhere in the Netherlands)
and maybe even :
-Opticall zooming
Then it would come close to the perfect phone untill Nvidia tegra processors arive.
thanks Bjluv!

Upgrade from OMNIA????

Can anyone guide me and tell me if it's worth upgrading my Omnia to the HD?
I know the processor in the Omnia is faster but there some other things that make it a less atractive phone..
Any input from you guys would be appreciated

the moste importand thing you will notice is the interface. The touch Flow 3D is much more simple and effective than the Omnia widget based interface.
Yes i know but have inmind that i have also the Diamond
I plan to upgrade to the HD if I can sell my Omnia, the Omnia is a great device but the external stylus is just not working for me, even though they are trying to get us all to use thumbs and fingers the stylus is an important part of a PDA for me.....
I'd wait till the phone is actually out and you see what everyday users have to say about it.
I already sold my Omnia after having it for one week only
I know it was stupid of me of rushing to getting it. I should do my research better before i got it.
But I don't regret selling it, from all the reviews, videos I've seen I doubt that the HD will dissapoint me!
It would be worth upgrading just for the fact that the HD is supported by the great XDA forum!!

true. that it the main reason why i didnt get the omnia and decided to wait for the HD.
that is why i buy HTC, because it is supported by a colossal, active, and talented xda-community.
also the omnia has wqvga
to me, i didnt go for Omnia because its dimension is narrow, not good for reading emails or watching video. HTC HD has a more or less 16:9 ration like iPhone which makes sense.

sold my omnia with less than 1 month usage

Touch HD 2?

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/09/04/htc_touch_hd_update/
Is there any weight to this? Since the reg isn't a dedicated HTC/Smartphone website I'm not entireley convinced that they have their facts right here but it's interesting nonetheless.

Also if it IS true.. what a load of crap? 628 mhz? no keyboard i guess.
Why no 1ghz snapdragon or some kind?
not particularly bothered about any of the specs, but it will be running android.
Personally, I'm a little sceptical. There is a lot of bogus information out there. I've seen people create images of the HD with a qwerty keyboard and the following day websites using these same images are advertising the HD Pro.
I don't see any mention of this phone anywhere else, this is were my skeptism comes from.
Yep, I agree with you FallenSpartan, there's loads of fakes and photoshops out there. But the Register is a pretty big website and they like HTC phones a lot - Touch HD is still in their top 10 I think. Will be interesting to see whether some more info creeps out over the next few days.
El Reg is a pretty reliable source - I'd be very surprised if this wasn't true.
And disappointed - means I can jump to Android for a while without getting the Hero - aka the Forsyth (as in Bruce) Phone. I don't think I could live with that chin.

Sure, no keyboard. It's a main feature and selling point of the Touch HD.

I thought i would try a stylus on the hd2 as i was so used to one on the touch HD,
well i receibed it today from good old ebay and it looks nice but it is PANTS !
maybe its just the one i got but it doest work well...
just thought i would share
Careful with non-official stylus. I ordered one, didn't work properly and stopped using it immediately before damaging the device.
wait for the offical htc hd2 capacitive stylus due out later this month.
Thanks for sharing. How well does it work for note taking?
Thanks

where i can buy this stylus? you can post a link with more info?
I bought the dagi stylus when I was in Taiwan. It's supposed to be the "official HTC Stylus" (before rebranding). That works pretty good. I could use excel quite well with it, just that I need to keep the thing at a certain angle.
If you want a reference: http://pockethacks.com/htc-official-stylus-for-capacitive-touch-htc-hd2/
I picked it up in taiwan for about US$10 if I'm not wrong. If you'd like to, search ebay for it. it's prob about US$12 with shipping.

I am not holding my breath waiting for a stylus for the HD2. The Iphone has been out for 3 years and they still don't have a descent one. I am not sure capacitive screen are too friendly with Styluses..... I miss my HD1 :-(

In case you have a smoker in your familiy, take out the silver paper inside of the pack,
wrap it around a pen and try it out.
You know the hd2's touchscreen is pretty bad compared to todays standards.

Yeah, I kinda agree. I look at some of the image editing apps occasionally and cannot imagine how I could get the precision of my mouse from my fingers (not that the apps are quite like Photoshop either)
