Hi Guys,
so here's the deal.
My Herald doesent work propably.
I can switch it on, it boots till the welcome Screen of WM6. Everything that happens then is that the annoying WM "busy Circle" is spinning, and the phone LED starts flashing, and thats it.
I can turn on an off the screen with the power button.
BUT if I take the sim out of the Device AND the MicoSD Card, everything works well.
But thats not the real deal I guess. Fortunately I still have warrenty but I want to make shure that it is not a simple problem I could fix myselfe.
THX Guys
just perform a Hard Reset and your problems will be solved
if u dont know, look in WIKI section
Thx for your Answer but unfortunatley it's not that easy.. I already performed a harware reset.. and I already treid to play a new rom on the device but it diesent work because the desktop pc can't connect the device via activesync.. The desktop doesn#t evene recognize the device..
a) well, you have to provide us some data.. turn off phone, hold camera+reset with the stylus and tell the numbers that r shown on ur herald screen
b) have u tried to flash via memory card?? can work
c) press power to set-standby mode. Then plug usbcable and hit power, device will "revive usb" and activesync should detect it. And go to Settings > Connection > disable advanced USB mode..

This is just a shot in the dark, but have you tried someone else's sim card in your phone with out the micro sd in it? My phone started to act up, and it turned out the sim card was bad.
@ tramuyo:
Thx for your reply.. I did what you suggested, and well: BIG MAGIC happend
No just kidding.. I'm not that into PPC to know theses special tricks.
But well here is some data:
IPL 4.17.0001
SPL 4.17.0000
I have absolutly no idea how this may help but i'm pretty confident that everyone here is more an expert than me... ;-) I just use these Toys..*G
And no I did not flash via sd car.. I just used the original WM6 Flash tool provided by HTC, and that works via activesync as fare as i know.
@dougstoner:
Also Thxs for your reply but the sim works. I testet it on another phone. I wish it would be as easy
UPDATE:
Removing SIM and SD Card -> Device boots...
Rom Flashed with originial HTC WM6 -> Devie workes WITH SIM and SD Card
After several reboots for test purposes -> same problem as before... AND problem is still there when using just one card..SIM or SD Card and even when using no card...
i think ur problem is microSD card. reformat in another computer and try with your mobile
btw,
congratulations!
I already did that.. With no longing effect...
I guess I really should send the device to HTC, and say bye bye for at last 3 weeks...
And why congratulations tramuyo? Because I got that thing runnig with the help of the HTC Support
oh no.. sorry, i understand you have done it (i dont understand too good english language)
But we can give some support to avoid send it to htc
Hello,
I have a problem, when I connect my phone with the USB cable to my computer, it doesn't do anything. He don't recognize the phone, doesn't make any connection nor see the SD card.
I've already tried to clear the box: Enable faster data synchronization, and tried to choose Disk Drive (Faster file transfer), it all doesn't do anything.
Tried different PC's, with WMC and Active Sync 4.5, with different OS's.
The cable isn't broker or something because the only thing that happens when I connect the phone with my PC is that the orange light (battery charge) is on.
I've installed Shadowline ROM, but it did work with that rom (active sync and disk transfer).
I think it is a problem of the ROM tho, so is there any way to flash my ROM without using a PC?
Answers would be realy appreciated.
Thank you.

You can flash from the storage card, just rename the .nbh file to TOPAIMG.nbh and put on the root of your storage card, go to bootloader mode and it will flash.
Your cable can be bad and still charge. I would try a different cable.
Also try deleteing the partnership in Active Sync and try to reestablish it.
I assume you hard reset after you flashed the ROM.
I do not think its a ROM issue.
Ok thanks for your reply.
I did what you sad but when I loaded the TOPAIMG.nbh in the bootloader, it came up with an error and freezes on: Loading ...
When I restarted it It Only shows:

And then he goes to the white screen with the blue letters saying: Loading...
(I waited many times, one time for 2 hours but nothing happend).
When I put out my SD-card and the battery and connect the phone with the USB (my pc still don't see recognize anything) it will boot to the exact same screen as I typed here above but then he stays at that one.
I can't do anything, already tried to hard reset him but that also didn't work.
It feels like im pretty screwed..
Please help!
Maybe you have a problem with the mini USB.
Happen to me with Touch HD.
If so take it to a reppair shop.
Well, I borrowed and USB cable from my friend and now he indeed makes an connection. But no active sync connection. I also can't see my SD card in My Computer. He still only shows the screen that I typed here above, but then under in the white area a little text: USB
What do I have to do next to fix it,
please help
thanks

I am concerned that you screen shot shows SPL 1.83.00, but you have flashed Shadowline's ROM.
It should say SPL: 1.83.00Olinex which would mean you have HSPL installed which is absolutely required to flash a custom ROM.
Did you have that ROM operational and just couldn't sync, or has the device not worked since you flashed this ROM?
Yes, I had the shadowline ROM, and it al worked good. I also could connect my mobile to my pc with the USB cable.
I don't know what happend, I didn't install any other program or something else but I suddently couldn't connect my mobile phone to my pc anymore.
But I wanted another ROM because I noticed that the Shadowline ROM feld a little bit laggy, so I found out that you can do that by your booting with the SD card.
And I know that you have to install hardSPL first, so I downloaded that one from the big post in this ROM forum from Topaz.
Booted with the SD card, and then when I started to flash the ROM he gave an error and now I have to problem that I can't do anything anymore.

I guess my point was if you had Shadowlines ROM, you were already HSPL'd, no need to do again.
Hard reset the phone and try to install ROM from SD.
Hi,
i had once the same problem. No connection with PC anywhere. I couldnt do nothing with that and was quite desperate about that.
But once suddenly it came to work again. I am not sure what made it work again but the only thing I can guess was that I took out and gave back the memory card with the turned on phone. Since then I have never had this problem again.
I wish you that this taking out of memory card helped you too.
Well, If I'm hard resetting, the only thing he does is show the percentages, then he says completed, then he reboot en I'm back at the tri-color screen again.
And I can't enter the bootloader, so I also can't install the ROM from the Sd-card.
And taking out the memory card while the phone is on also dont work
Any other options what maby will work?

Just some points;
Make sure the .nbh file is named excatly TOPAIMG.nbh paying attention to the case of the letters.
When you attempt to go into Bootloader, Holding Voume Down and Power buttons at the same time when phone is off, what screen appears?
[Q] my handset doesn´t recognize sd apps
I had the same problem as well, so I deactivated and reactivated the SD card from the phone, actually I cant take out the sd with the turned on phone. It worked once, but it happened again so i tried to the same but know the deactivate function in settings doesnt worked. Now i dont know what to do. if anyone could help me i would be very thankful.
My handset is a xperia x10 with 2.1 generic flashed bb 2.1.54, and 2.2 wolbreak gingerbread rom.

For several days I get tired of uploading windows 7 on your phone hd2. The first time everything went smoothly, but broken marketplace forced me to install another rom ... and after that began to complications. Reinstalling WP7 ran smoothly, unfortunately after the restart, the phone hung up on the screen where you had to enter the PIN code, the screen does not respond to touch. After reset, the message began to appear that the memory card does not work and could not turn on the system. Again I tried to upload the new rom, but unfortunately it did not help ... Later I was able to upload back android nand and somehow everything worked. Today I made another attempt to install WP7, unfortunately, only worsened his situation, which is as follows:
The phone will not even turn on, just as I plug it into usb. MAGLDR loads seamlessly, this 4-color screen as well. Unfortunately, the system loads until the htc logo appears and some animation, after that the phone automatically resets and so on.
Check and make sure you do not have a bent battery pin as a bent battery pin has been known to cause the HD2 to boot loop like you are describing.
If you do not have a bent battery pin, then I suggest you run a Task 29 and then re install MAGLDR then reflash your WP7 ROM. Also it might help if you do a total reformat of your SD card then try to boot your device with a freshly formated SD card. I know I know WP7 formats your card anyway on first boot but hey it could help. If you still have troubles after that I suggest you get a new SD card and try that. You see if your SD card does not work WP7 will not boot cause it uses the SD card as the internal memory for the device.
I don't know how, but now everything is working! I didn't do enything! Just plug usb cable, and system was loaded! I disconnect cable and it still working?!

No I mean have you tried powering it on and off since it has started working again?
Yes, now i can restart the phone, and everything works properly. I don't know how it is possible..? For now I stay with android, I will wait for better version of wp7 rom for hd2.
okay you guys, i dont know if im posting in the right section or not.. but i figured it would be good to post in the general section.
i have a tmobile hd2... it wont boot. sometimes i get the tmo bootscreen and it gets stuck there, other times its unresponsive, and other times it vibrates seven times and the screen never turns on..
i just want to mae this thing functional again. is there any way i can bring this device back to stock? whether its with a windows rom, or android rom, i really dont care.. lol i just need help. anything would be greatly appreciated.

Just thinking it could be a bad battery, but more info would be helpful.
Or check if battery pin is bent
Sent from my HTC HD2 with WP7.5/android miui using tapatalk
battery and pins are fine... th sd card was working before but now the phone seems to have been condemed.. any information you would need just feel free to ask, i dont really know what to tell you guys since i dont know whats wrong with it
I managed to get to the rgb screen.. I'm guessing hspl is installed, because it says hspl on the screen lol.. Any suggestions on what I should do from here?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
that happened to my phone once. i thought my battery was fried or something, but it turned out that my pins were bent. works fine now.
if you can get to the RGB screen, your phone is still safe i believe. Try getting a compatible SD card and then try and flash another WP7 rom. Also make sure your HSPL is 2.08. Anything otherwise, won't boot also.
HSPL must be 2.08.... if any other version, WP7 wont boot... but most of problems in sdcard compatible
task 29, and reinstall hspl , than magdlr. also make sure of bad blocks.
okay, at first i tried an ruu that i got directly from tmo but it would always hang at 8%... then i ran the task 29 file and it went through 100%... im gonna let the battery charge for a little bit since i dont want anything else to go wrong... im going to search on how to install hspl and everything else.. im asuming that i need an sd card for this lol. thanks everyone for the help!
Please Help! After “123456 GoGoGo” the screen goes dark and reboots; endlessly.
Guys I’m having a similar problem. I had “XBmod-Yuki 2.1” loaded yet I was experiencing sporadic reboots.
I decided to re-flash using the SD card advice provided by XDA site. I purchased a new compatible SanDisk 16gb.
While following the XDA instructions to the letter, I completed the “Flash the ROM with DWI” step (w/ SD Removed) and my phone is now on an endless reboot loop. After “123456 GoGoGo” the screen goes dark and reboots; endlessly.
The phone is not bricked because I can still re-flash the TMO stock 3.14. Yet when I try again, after “123456 GoGoGo” the screen goes dark and reboots; endlessly.
I love Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and I must restore my phone to its glory…
Please help! What do I do to get pass this paralyzing issue???
insert card to phone and turn on with Volume Up + Down + Power together.... when white screen shows, follow instructions on screen...
Please Help! After “123456 GoGoGo” the screen goes dark and reboots; endlessly.
Thanks for the reply DXDY...
I tried what you suggested. The master reboot completed and the phone rebooted into the same endless reboot loop.
My steps have been to:
reflash stock 3.14; allow complete boot up
install magldar113_daf
delete mbr using magldr113
Enable 24MB extra memory in Magldr services
Flash the rom with DWI...
after i flash the rom it reboots in to the endless loop. it never completes a boot up cycle. Right after "123456 GoGoGo" the "tomobile "stick together" logo flashes and the phone reboots; endlessly...
I have tried different roms; exact same behavior...
it has to be something simple because, the phone is not bricked; I can still re-flash the TMO stock 3.14. The stock ROM works perfectly and my SD card (Sandisk 16gb class 4) still works perfectly also...
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated...
only problem then is SDcard.... try boot without sdcard for test.....
Please Help! After “123456 GoGoGo” the screen goes dark and reboots; endlessly.
i have tried reflashing with the SD card in the device and with the SD card removed. Once before i was able to flash the either way (with or without - both ways worked before). Now immediatley after reboot the device enters endless reboot loop...
any help is appriciated...
try with NAND toolkit... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19931919&postcount=501
wipe NAND with Task29, check and install again HSPL 2.08
flash WM6.5
flash MAGLDR
after that flash WP7
dont know which other to advice you...
melcad Please Help! After “123456 GoGoGo” the screen goes dark and reboots; endless
what is task29? i understand the other items. i just need clarification on task29...
Task 29 formats the partition drive of your device where the ROM resides.
it's cleaning partition, removing any leftover junks thereby giving a fresh partition for the ROM to operate
Please Help! After “123456 GoGoGo” the screen goes dark and reboots; endlessly.
Wow, that did it! the task29 cleaned up the NAND as you said and allowed me to reflash WP7...
One last question; when updating WP7 using the cab sender method; may I remove the languages that i dont need from the RAR pack???
incompatible sd card....change and try again with another sd card
dont remove the language cabs...preferred to keep them in
Hi Guys,
my HD2 restarts again and again after the WP7 boot logo appears for 10 or 15 seconds. I've installted the XBmod-Yuki rom (WP7 8107 with SP1) last January and ever since my phone was working perfectly until yesterday. I had to shut it down in the lunchtime and as I wanted to boot in the evening it began to restart every time after the boot logo.
The battery is fine and and can be fully loaded after removing the SD-card. I've searched for the problem already, but couldn't find a similiar problem. In most problem descriptions the battery seems to be too low to boot, but my one is OK. Have anybody an idea to fix the problem?
kind of the same problem
my hd2 restart like every 10 minutes again and again i haven't found nothing to do , therefore i gonna reinstall

have you tried to boot without the microSD card ? if it boots it will say missing card or smth like that. than turn phone off and try again with the card on.

you either have the new DFT ROM with touch screen driver problem or you have microSD card problems (card not compatible with WP7)
Sounds like you are suffering from some bad sectors... :-( You could try to reinstall using different SD-card and see if the problem persists. If not then the old SD-card was the troublemaker If not then you have bad sectors onboard which is a bit of trouble!
Of course there are other explanations but bad sectors is common on the HD2 or at least starting to become that :-(

well it seems you need a compatible sd card because not all of them are compatible with wp7 and give you random reboots, it is a known problem. read a little bit here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912904&highlight=compatible+sd
