Hey Guys,
My Samsung Galaxy s2 Stock Media Player dosent play ac3 Audi files or Mp4 FIles with Ac3 audio decoded. I was able to play those using Dice player or rockplayer.
The official Samsung Site or other specification says this (This is from wikipedia)
For audio it supports (FLAC, WAV, Vorbis, MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, MID, AC3, XMF). For video formats and codecs it supports (MPEG-4, H.264, H.263, DivX HD/XviD, VC-1) and video formats (3GP (MPEG-4), WMV (ASF) as well as AVI (DivX)).
Issues:
1. Stock Media Player dosent play ac3 Audi files or Mp4 FIles with Ac3 audio decoded (Stock Media Player gives the Option 5.1 to be enabled but ac3 not playing)
2. Other players play it Under software decoding, But main Problem is 5.1 isn't working with Head phones
I googled and found some Users were able to Play it with stock media Players. Read something like "I dont have any problem playing those files, I just copy and play them"
I am now confused is this happeneing with my device alone, So guys how do you dea this?
Please reply so that i would be grateful to you guys
Regards,
Magnanimousdude.

thought this forum is good and people would quickly give suggessions on what was the issue, But after 79 views also i didnt get any reply... atleast there wasn't 10 samsung galaxy s2 owners who saw this post??? Pathetic for me
Probably due to nobody having the answer who has read your post .
Reading your second post i would be disinclined to reply anyway .

Sorry to ask a question thats probably been asked a million times but I want to play the video podcast from the bbc breakfast web site. I've downloaded the file and am told its a Mpeg4 format with AAC audio. I found a player that will play the video but it wont play the AAC audio.
I'm a bit unclear about all these formats but am really struggling to find a player.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Simon
Have a look at the conduit player - i have a good report that's the best player 4 video so u may be in luck with supported formats.
Check it out!

I have tryed WM player , Nero Mobile , TCPMP , Pocket TV ,and cant seem to find one that plays most files , any suggestions ?
with the codecs TCPMP play pretty much all i've thrown at it
The CorePlayer in its current version 1.1.1 is definitely the best (legal!) player:
Audio: MP3, AAC, MKA, WMA, WAV, OGG, Speex, WAVPACK, FLAC, AMR, ADPCM, ALaw, MuLaw, and Midi
Video: H.264 (AVC), MKV, MPEG-1, MPEG-4 part 2 (ASP), DivX, XviD, WMV, MJPEG
Containers: Matroska, TS, PS, 3GPP, MOV, AVI, MPEG-4, NSV
And besides this you can stream(!) MP4/AVC-videocasts.

why are there "illegal" ones?
I wasn't aware that there were illegal players - CorePlayer is not Free - and it is therfore illegal to use without purchasing it - if that's what you meant?

No, I mean the use of codecs is restricted. For example you have to pay licenses for the H.264 codec. So it's simply impossible to get a legal freeware player supporting H.264. If you find one, then it's obviously illegal.
Could the Coreplayer play video using bluetooth headphone like A2DP? I have tried WM10, but it is not working, it works with Music not Video.

Yes, I think so. But I didn't try it, because I don't have a bluetooth headphone.
A little help
After a lot of searching I found two players that play my videos, Nero Mobile & Core Player but there is a problem. They play video well but for some reason I get no audio. When the Core player is running it gives me an Error "Player: Audio Codec (AC-3) not supported by the player!" is there a work around or solution to this? Any suggestions will do.
Thanks.

I think I played a video with the Core player, and used my A2DP headset; but I think it stuck after a few seconds since the CPU-usage is so high with a A2DP headset that it would probably require a super overclocked Trinity with liquid nitrogen cooling hehe!
well that is too bad......I am hoping it would work

I just can say that I have lots of videos with AC-3 coded audio (in fact most of existing videocasts are) and they all play fine with CorePlayer. I don't know, what is the problem in your case. Do you have the latest version (1.1.1)? As a buyer of the software you could post a detailed description of the problem in the official support forum:

I know that the tab is divx certified but, i would like to know if it is possible to play divx in the browser? On sites like stagevu, loombo and vidxden.
Thanks in advance.

i am not able to play divx videos from web.... its showing the plugin symbol
That all said, my Tab is loving XviD dvd rips
I mainly want the Tab for Xvid DVD rips. Do you know if the Tab plays avi's that our encoded with an AC3 soundtrack rather than MP3. a lot of dvd rips have Ac3 rather than MP3 and I heard that the galaxy cannot support multichannel soundtracks.
It has played all files I have tried until now. avis' in a lot of formats, divx. h.264 all new series. It even does mkv files in 720p with no problems or lag at all
ac3 is supported. But the stock player has decoding problems. Try vPlayer alpha - its the best atm.
so with vplayer alpha does it play 720p mkv files with AC3 (a52 codec) soundtrack, dont want to convert everything to AAC 2 channel or MP3.
Any word on firmware upgrades to fix stock video player???
None yet... but youre right, the stock player is very good otherwise! I love the browser and media library. And of course the ar control.
so can someone confirm does it play perfectly with another video player instead of the stock one.
As I said really interested in playback of 720p mkv with AC3 (5.1 sound)
Gonna try it when they are for sale next week, take my sd card and see if it works
Yep works fine in vplayer. But remember, no files larger than 4gb on internal storage.
Also, the 1080p playback advertised for the galaxy tab refers to divx and xvid I believe, so high profile move are square in third party player laps. Lets hope they make fixes too!
Hello all, I'd like to use my transformer for some movies and some training video. For the most part, moboplayer is great. WMV however is coming up with static-y audio and cuts in and out. Useless for audio part. I've switched it to softwae decoding already but no luck. Anyone knows of a player that can play wmv fine with audio? If not I guess I'll have to try and convert the videos.
What audio codec is used in the WMV's? I have a dozen or so WMV movies and they play fine in Mobo. You have downloads and installed the codec pack as well?
No need for mobo or other third party player, the google stock player is working very well with wmv, even in 720p.
Maybe this area has been covered before by using Handbrake, but I've found another useful utility XMedia Recode (google it, I am a n00b here so I can't post external link).
This tools already has a build-in A500 profile! But what I really want is to make sure the video stream intact and just convert the audio to AAC, since many of my mkv files are already in h264 format and there is no reason to waste time on re-encoding the video part and degrade the video quality. A500 plays those mkv videos fine but only without sound. This tool has a "video copy" option, this will bypass the video re-encoding part and just convert the audio channels. Converting a 1GB 720p MKV AC3 to AAC only takes less than a minute (limited by harddisk speed I think). A500 now can play the mkv smoothly.... and also with sound!!!!
I second this app. I have been using it for a while for Xbox playback and it works flawlessly.
So I says to Mable I says ...
I used this quickly the other day before flying, and it seemed to work really well. I used the method described above, using "copy video" and all. It seemed to work really well...at first. The video is fine and the audio plays, until it doesn't. What I mean is, the audio plays but then stops for no reason while the video continues. If I rewind and play the same part again the audio is fine this time, again until it stops.
This is the case for the like 4 different video players I've used. Do you think it's the file, or should I try even more video players? Thanks.
One easy to use solution is here

heheļ¼this is good.
i tried this app a few mins ago.audio is perfect, but the video which converted by"video copy" is still slowly or stoped sometimes .but this app is still worthy to try!
i recommend iDealshare VideoGo which can work as either a AC3 encoder or AC3 decoder.
Acting as an AC3 Decoder, it easily helps:
Convert AC3 audio to other audio formats like convert AC3 to WAV, convert AC3 to AAC, convert AC3 to AIFF, convert AC3 to FLAC, convert AC3 to M4A, MP3, WMA, OGG, AU, RA, MP2, DTS and etc.
Convert video with AC3 audio codec to video with other audio codec like AAC, MP3, MP2, DCA, PCM, WMA etc. You may choose to keep or change the output video format like convert MKV with AC3 to MP4 with AAC.
Convert video with AC3 audio to audio format like convert MKV with AC3 to MP3 audio.
Acting as an AC3 encoder, it easily helps:
Convert almost all popular audio formats to AC3 like convert DTS to AC3, convert FLAC to AC3, convert APE to AC3, convert to AC3 from Apple Lossless ALAC, AMR, QCP, CAF, VOC, VQF and etc.
Convert video with various audio codec to video with AC3 codec as well as keep or change the video format like convert MKV with FLAC codec to MKV with AC3 codec.
Change AC3 audio channel like from AC3 stereo to AC3 5.1/6 channel, from Dolby Digital 5.1 AC3 to Mono or Stereo AC3
I found Bigasoft Audio Converter on Google and gave it a try. It works well to convert ac3 to aac on my side. Try it!
I use Dice player on my A500 to play MKV files with AC3
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inisoft.mediaplayer.a
in my opinion, mkv in ac3 is better then aac, so why change it?

Same question
Faasoft's great "Audio Converter" is the best choice to convert ac3 to aac.
You may prefer to a step by step guide named "Faa AC3 Converter - How to Convert AC3 to AAC, MP3, WAV, FLAC, WMA, M4A, AIFF, ALAC, etc on Mac and Windows?" which inform us how to convert AC3 files to MP3, AAC, M4A, WMA, FLAC, etc.
Hope it will help you more or less.
I found Dice player was able to playback AC3 encoded videos more recently you needed to install an open source codec as they were no allowed to bundle it.
